The SG I'm in is always looking for RPers to join although if you live in New Zealand (is that what NZ stands for?) then it may be a bit of a time difference but check out our site to see if it's something you're interested in.

Quote:I would be very interested in this. My girlfriend wants to get me a gift and I was thinking a new computer would be great. I would love any input or advice on custom computers you can offer. Thank you.
Thanks Manny I was thinking to put up (yet another) wall of text post (I really need to work on economy
of speech) about who is a good candidate for going custom. Kind of a pro's and con's list of buying
off the shelf from a big box store vs. having one custom made. Perhaps this would be the time, any thoughts on this? -
Over 5 years playing, all the boosters, character slots, pre-order on Coh and CoV so around $1500 or so for over 5 years of fun has been the best money I've spent.
-
hmm I've been contemplating custom built computer for some time, this thread will be very interesting to follow. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

I take it for thematic reasons

Like Nestor my handle is my name as well although I did make "Manny" in CoH as well, started out as a MA/SR scrapper but is now a TA/A def and is a whopping level 21.... so sad.

This has been a very enjoyable read, thank you for this and I look forward to seeing how far you take it.

I have one called Chrono Guard. He has come from the future to help organize a group of heroes. He hasnt revealed why or anything about the future he comes from.
-
Loved the guides, one of the more entertaining reads I've done. Great work, looking forward to the other ones.

Glad you found something you like...any chance we can see what she looks like? Don't mind me I just love seeing what costumes people come up with.
-
yeah thats a great costume but its way too close, I'm sure you'll get generic'd
-
Storm/Dark gets my vote maybe if you posted the costume that could help us figure it out as well
-
What a great idea! I loved playing the floor is made of lava as a kid. I may have to try this
-
Most of the RP I do is with my SG but I tend to stay IC with PuGS as well, you can look me up in game as well @Manny CS

Great thread, I love seeing other people's amazing creations. I am very jealous of what everyone comes up with
-
Thank Laev,
I really enjoyed seeing how this turned out and am surprised at how much profit was made. I too hope you learned what you wanted and I hope it didn't take away from too much of your regular CoH time.

This is an awesome thread and one I will be keeping an eye on

I would be interested in this and because I just like playing for fun I'd be willing to try it out and help. Let me know when you are going to try this, I could care less about death and team wipes, a challenge is a challenge.

Quote:I agree with this 100% well putFunny how old-timers tend to get jaded so quickly. Yes, we've done a lot of this same stuff for the last five years. But what about those people who haven't been here five years?
I mean, consider how cool the event was in October 2004. Hardly anyone had seen a freakishly giant creature like Eochai at that time, Croatoa wasn't even in existence. We were all pretty stoked back then, and that was just one giant monster roaming around. We didn't even have that hero event channel to let us know where he was.
Now consider if you had just joined the game within the past year. This event is huge. I mean, my god, giant monsters, creatures you've never seen before, getting stuff from knocking on doors that don't do anything the rest of the time (especially the costume salvage for free that usually costs big $$$ at the auction house), changing your avatar into any of a buttload of enemies, umpteen badges, defeating banners strewn around zones, fighting off hordes of zombies (say what you will about it happening all the time; unlike during the Halloween event, usually people are so jaded of it that there aren't enough heroes grouped up to spawn the Elite Boss Nightmares), no sun in the city anywhere... I mean, it's definitely a lot different than the normal game.
Please remember as you think about how you've been doing this for years that not everyone has, and they deserve that same coolness factor that we've been spoiled with for a long time now.
And the banner stuff is pretty cool. I'm so glad it's not just another standard "Defeat x and collect badge" kind of thing. -
yeah this was enjoyable not only for the influence but I was really intrigued by the whole project. Thanks for making it fun

Great thread, I'll keep my eye on this one

wow...My first time in this thread and I never thought something as fun as Vet Rewards could lead to such animosity and ill will.

Quote:I'm with you on this. I barely did any RPing and finally got my first 50 and even though it was nice to finally get there I missed the RP aspect of playing. All my other toons will take the long but much more enjoyable RP route to 50.It was a good gaming weekend for me, with some great family news along the way.
It was the least amount of RP I had done in years. Even when I was in a PUG that was open to roleplaying - I pretty much stayed quiet. I just wanted to give RP a rest for the weekend and focus on growing some characters.
Anyway, it was fun to be a power leveler for a weekend. Now I am done with it. One thing I find about leveling fast - is there no story in between. Characters are created and driven to their peaks so fast - you dont even realize who they are or how they became to be.
It is time to slow it all down again and live and breathe with them again.
Time, once again, to embrace the carebear within. -
Well I finally got to my first 50 after 5+years of playing. A little bittersweet as I didnt get a "ding" when I finally got there.
