All Blaster Katie Hannon Task Force

I've been running some TF's lately as all Scrapper TF's: The ITF and the Hess TF in particular and I got to thinking that it might be fun to try some other TF's using only one AT.

My first thought was to run the Katie TF with all Controllers. Simply because I really enjoy the KTF. However, I thought about it and realized that a team of eight Controllers would pretty much just trivialize the KTF to the point of making it boring. So, after deciding that a team of eight Defenders would do pretty much the same thing, I settled on Blasters.

I mentioned the idea to a friend of mine and they (being much smarter and generally better at the game than I am) made me realize that running the KTF with all Blasters might be so irritating as to take all the fun out of it.

My argument was that, in the first mission, other than the Arch-Villain, everything else would die so fast that they wouldn't have a chance to do any damage. I figured that, even with the 8th-10th spawns, the mobs would be obliterated fast enough to keep everyone safe. My friend disagrees and believes that we'll need large purple inspirations for spawns 1-10.

My friend also made the very good point that, no matter how much damage we do, it wouldn't be enough to take Mary out quickly. And there'd be little to stop her from singling Blasters out and decimating them. There would also be the issue of keeping Mary from running all over the place but I think that we'd have enough in the way of Immobs to keep her from running around too much. That, of course, wouldn't stop her from killing us.

I mean, I've beaten this TF with all sorts of teams before. I've duoed it with a friend playing one of my Scrappers while they were using an FF Defender. I can't help but think that it can be done.

So, yeah. I'm still interested in trying it out. Anyone here tried it before? Were you successful? Got any advice that might help me pull it off?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Currently, all 1-10 spawns, including Mary herself, are level 34. It is either silent TF nerf or bug. I'm cosidering it as a bug.

edit: In my opinion all def KHTF >>>>>>>>> than all blaster KHTF

I think you're going to have severe problems with knockback, mez and scatter.

And if it goes bad it will go REALLY BAD REALLY FAST.

If it doesn't go bad this might be one of the fastest KHTFs on record, though.

EDIT: If there really is a "all level 34" bug - which would make sense as an accidental consequence of the no-TF-difficulty temporary workaround- this just got a lot easier.

Maneuvers for blasters: 2.275% Defense (all)
Grant Invisibility for blasters: 1.75% Defense (all)

Slotted Maneuvers: 2.275 * 1.56 = 3.549%
Slotted Grant Invis: 1.75 * 1.56 = 2.73%

Eight blasters using Maneuvers: 3.549 * 8 = 28.392%
Grant Invis total for seven blasters (can't use it on yourself): 2.73 * 7 = 19.11%

Total Defense (all): 47.502%

Wouldn't guarantee survival, but it would go a long way toward making success possible.

I would be interested in this and because I just like playing for fun I'd be willing to try it out and help. Let me know when you are going to try this, I could care less about death and team wipes, a challenge is a challenge.

I don't see why this would be difficult to pull off, especially now with the current always-level-34 spawns of Mary and company. With 8 Blasters, there should be enough time for your Nukes to recharge. You could even use 2 Nukes per spawn: one as the spawn materializes and a follow up for any that zipped out of range. Hmmm, speaking of which, would it be better to engage the spawn at the spawn point or hide behind the ruined structure and hope for a neat corner clustering? Or do both, ie send out a sacrificial Nuker at the spawn point while everyone else is hidden?

Handling Mary shouldn't be that difficult either. Almost all Blasters have an Immob and once she'd pinned down, her Hurricane's effect is negated. Your only problems would be Lightning Storm, Gale and her Electric Blast. If you all don't stand in a clump, ie spread out or keep mobile, you can avoid or at least minimize personal aggro and incoming damage. Well, there is still the endurance drains, but with good consistant damage output, you guys can take turns to Rest.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

It was introduced even before "no-TF-difficulty temporary workaround" - from the first day of i16

Blasters should be quite doable, especially with the levels in the tf being consistent now on that first mission. When we have had more than one blaster on a run, we'll alternate nuking the mob. I can get my nuke up a couple times during the first part.

With 8 you can probably have 2 nukes per mob, depending on your recharge, and take out most all of 8 of the 10 that way. Just make sure you're away from the spawn site enough so they don't fly in. Doing that, the other 6 blasters should eb able to just concentrate on the last couple boss types and the av while the nukers are regaining their end.

If your recharge isn't enough, one nuke per mob would certainly make a big dent in the HPs of everything there, and the other 7 can AoE as well, and then a bit of mopping up the bosses/av. And I'd think if you rotate one at a time, the first two's nukes should be up again by spawns 9-10.

Get a */Dev or two to lay down the mines that I see alot when I do KHTF. Maybe Two Arch/Dev blasters to lay down mines then shoot of a dual RoA on the spawn straight out. Wont be much left after that I wouldnt think. Some Son and Rad blasters will also debuff her def and resist. (Would the caltrops from devices work on keeping Mary pinned down (maybe with some other immob too). Just thinking out load.
