The only people who really aren't sheeple are those who do popular things if they like them and avoid popular things if they don't like them. In other words they make up their own minds. Those who deliberately avoid things that are popular specifically because they are popular aren't making up their own minds. They are still letting the masses of trend followers make up their mind for them. They just run in the other direction in some misguided effort to believe that nobody can dictate their actions when it's actually exactly the opposite. Their actions are completely predetermined by those lemmings that they seek to distance themselves from.

How about this? A badge is generated each time you complete an AE arc. The badge is "Completed #" where # is the arc number. If you run a different arc then the badge is replaced by the new arc number rather than a second badge being added.
It would be using somewhat the same mechanism as the Katie TF where 1-9 times the victor are replaced by 10 times.
This would be a simple way for authors running such contests to verify that their arc had indeed been run. -
And back to the subject. The only ally rez I ever take is Howling Twilight and I don't take it as a rez. I take it as an attack that has a side effect of rezzing.

Glad I could help. Seen it many many times though most often it is somebody having problems with their costume colors.
-
Quote:Are you by chance in sg mode and your sg has a different chest detail?I just noticed yesterday that 2 characters I have on Freedom have a missing costume piece (same missing piece for both). One of their costume slots was set to be the Roman armor, and the chest detail piece (Roman Lorica Segmentata) doesn't appear when the costume is selected and active.
It does, however, appear on the character on the character select screen, and on the costume select dialog.
Does anyone else have this problem? -
Quote:This is a slap in every one's face how paid monthly, and didn't get a thing. Some got boni in the worth of hundreds of euro.
I wondered how long it would take before somebody posted this. After all there were hordes of posts about epics being unlocked at 30 instead of 50 being a terrible thing that totally destroyed the concept of a reward for getting to 50.
I must admit there is an annoyance factor (though a very minor one) to people being given reward items that they didn't earn. I don't mean the perks, those are insignificant. I mean the badge. Before there were very few people who actually had the 69 month badge so yeah, it was kind of cool when people would look at the vet badges and be shocked at how long I've been playing. Now it just shows that I may have been playing that long, or I may have played for a while, then quit then started playing again. -
Since I keep the VU window open all the time I insist that anybody who posts anything mentioning either of the following two topics be banned from the channel instantly.
No jokes about car wrecks or drunk/drugged drivers. My sister was killed when a stoned semi driver rear ended her.
No jokes about having a heart attack. Two good friends of mine who were young and in good health have died of a sudden massive heart attack. The last one just a month ago.
I'm sure that there are plenty of people here who can add other restrictions. No jokes about shooting somebody, about mugging somebody, about being attacked by wild animals, about skateboarding accidents, being stabbed with a spoon, being slapped and smacked repeatedly. And if some unthinking brutish pathetic excuse for a human being should joke "This Posi TF is going so badly I wish I could point my AR at my own head." Then they should be instantly banned from every channel for life because there is almost definitely somebody out there who has had a family member commit suicide with a gun.
Or to put my opinion more bluntly. Either instantly ban anybody who says anything that somebody might find painful or ban nobody for it. A moderator who overreacts due to personal experience with a discussed subject should not be a moderator. If you can not treat all cases equally then you are not a moderator, you are a dictator.
Talking to a person is a reasonable first step. Silencing them if they keep it up is a reasonable second step. Banning them if they still haven't learned their lesson is a reasonable action. Jumping straight to step 3 is the action of somebody who has problems with self control let alone control of others. -
I had to petition 3 vet rewards that were late. After that it finally got back on track.

If you mean that you can play a character if you create it but you can't select that character a second time to enter the game then it's a bug that I haven't seen for quite a while. There is nothing you can do client side, the problem is with your account server side.
You have to either open up a problem ticket through the CoH website or you cann create a new character and once you are in the game you can /petition Character Problem. In the petition state exactly what the problem is, that you can create and play a character but after logging out you can't select that character to enter the game again. Whoever gets the petition should be able to fix it for you fairly quickly and easily because the problem was seen fairly often for a while. Just be sure to regularly check the email associated with your account in case they ask for more information. But when I last saw this nobody was being asked for information any more and the problem was usually fixed within a day of the petition. -
And the burning buildings were mentioned too. It's darned hard to get good shots of those though.
-
Look for other editions too. You can apply one code for each edition so you could also apply the CoV code, the CoV collectors code, the CoH code, the Architect edition code and the Mac edition code.

I just can't understand people who buy a computer but are afraid of doing anything with it. It's like a somebody who is hydrophobic buying a swimming pool.
Seriously right now he's like somebody who refuses to add oil when the oil light comes on in their car because one time he opened the hood of the car and the same day he got a flat tire.
And just so you know you aren't alone in this. A year or so ago we had a user here who was having a problem with overly bright colors. She had vision problems and it was to the point of hurting her eyes and making it impossible for her to play. Her dad had the exact same ideas about upgrading the operating system and drivers. He kept telling her that he wouldn't update the drivers and if she tried it she was going to infect her computer will all sorts of viruses and burn out her video card. He threatened that if she ruined her computer by updating drivers that he wasn't going to pay to fix it. After a couple months of her begging us for alternate solutions she finally gave in (or her dad did, don't remember which) and upgraded the drivers. She started a thank you thread because the game once again looked great. -
I put everything on the market for 5 inf each. Doesn't matter if it's a piece of salvage or a purple recipe. I don't care about making a profit because I don't feel a need to ultra io out any of my characters. I regard it as playing a game of roulette. If it's a huge payout then yay for me. If I only get 5 inf then double yay for the lucky player who put up a 5 inf bid and got something they never thought they would.

Virtue B
Freedom A (along with a side order of mockery if you dare to suggest your mid 40s would like to join)
Other servers, can't say. -
I am an expert... well not really but I've had multiple experiences with seeing that. It's definitely a failing card and almost certainly happens when the card overheats.
You say the card is not running hot. What is the temperature of the card and what program are you using to read it? Are you sure you aren't just looking at the motherboard temperature.
Also, as a card gets progressively worse it starts to glitch at lower and lower temperatures. A few years back when my 7900gt started to glitch like that I set the fan to 100% every time I played the game and I was able to eke out another month of play. But that card is about to go out in a blaze of glory.
On the bright side this gives you a good excuse to upgrade for GR. -
Quote:I wouldn't count on the spelling being a mistake."I AM SATIN" was probably the worst of its ilk, along with the various "rouge angles" that worked with him. Apparently, the more Evil you become, the less you can properly spell.
I've got a elec/elec Brute named Rouge Angle. His bio is
Red, the color of anger. Angle, a pointy thing that can really hurt if it pokes you. Or look awesome if that's the way you style your hair. And don't ask me where these wings come from. Being a mutant really sucks, except when I'm cooking things with my Fearsome Fists of .... um, what starts with F but means electricity or lightning or something like that?
And I've also got a dark/dark defender named Lord Darkity Dark. About the only time I play him any more is when I see somebody make a snarky comment somebody being all darkity dark. -
Ok, some things to try.
Before anything else run hijackthis and check those entries back blast listed. The w4sgeen9.exe shouldn't need fixing. I downloaded the file and scanned it with multiple scanners and it came up negative so it's likely exactly what it is suppose to be, a program that checks for product compatibility. Have hijackthis fix those entries.
Now some other suggestions. Put a copy of hijackthis on your desktop and give it a different name like hijackthat.exe, then run it again and post the results. Even though when you run hijackthis it says it must be run in it's own directory there are several virus and trojans which will block it from fully running if they see it on the drive. I don't know if superantispyware can run the same way but I would try it just to be sure.
Second. Try going to trendmicro.com/housecall
Some programs which are very good a redirecting or blocking downloads of full antivirus solutions won't block remote site scanners. You still have to download a small program to use housecall but it might not be blocked.
Third. Try downloading antivirus solutions from Download.com. A virus that blocks the home page of an antivirus site usually doesn't block program collection sites. The first one you should try from there is malwarebytes and I might as well give you the link to that here http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebyte...html?tag=mncol
Once malwarebytes is installed (if you can get it installed) go into the malwarebytes directory and rename mbam.exe to something else .exe. It will still run. I actually keep two copies of the program on my system named mbam.exe and bomb.exe just because some virus programs do stop mbam from loading.
That's all I've got for now. -
Yes you can target doors and glowies.
The target name for doors is dr
The target name for glowies is whatever the target is, crate, generator etc... so it's pretty difficult to set up a bind. You could always just do the whole list as a chained targeting bind since only one type of glowie is usually used at a time. However this won't help you activate it without clicking or interacting, it just helps to know when you are within line of sight of one. You can also use the follow command once you have the glowie targeted.
To set up to target a door the command would be targetcustomnear dr
Unfortunately I don't have any idea how to click on the door from there. There doesn't seem to be a slash command for it because there is no interaction dialogue for doors. -
Just looking at the KOTP roster Strype is the oldest member at August 10th 2004 and I'm the second oldest at April 28th 2005. There were of course many members between me and Strype but we are the oldest remaining.

My two cents.
You step into a playground that has multiple basketball (basketball will hereafter be referred to as BB) courts. On one of the courts are a small group of people working on free throws. They are taking turns and not playing competitively. Well since BB courts are for BB, not for free throw practice your group chooses to challenge them to a game of BB. They decline because they just want to practice. You politely remind them that BB courts are for BB. You then charge around that court playing BB, blocking their shots, taking the ball, doing layups in front of them and heartily congratulating your own team and mocking them whenever you make a basket.
Now does that sound like you are actually playing BB or are you just screwing around and generally being annoying?
You see, there is this little letter in the middle of PvP that most PvPers seem to forget. It's the v which stands for versus which denotes competition. PvPing badgers obviously isn't done for the competition, because there is no competition. It isn't done for the challenge, because there is no challenge.
So if you are going to hunt badgers in PvP zones stop calling yourself a PvPer and start calling yourself what you are. A farmer.
Not that there is anything wrong with farming PvP recipes but you aren't actually doing PvP any more than defeating mobs who don't fight back is PvE. -
I rarely play defenders and when I do I absolutely refuse to take powers which require targeting and affecting other players.
The reason? I like playing defeat the villains, not playing buff whackamole with the other team members. -
Quote:The sole reason I like the two build idea is for concept characters. For instance like Batman. He is normally the Dark Knight but there have been a couple times he has used power armor. Or Iron man. Yes his basic suit concept has always been the same but over the course of his existence he has built suits so radically different that they could only be conceived in CoH as different power sets.any idea in the form of getting new primary/secondaries other then rolling a new toon should be automatically deleted and not be let out into the forums. it is not a good idea at all.
Giant man/Ant man
That sort of thing. The only difference between my version and rolling alts is that you can keep the same name. -
I would go for a complete power set respec on one condition.
First I'll remind just why the devs don't want one. The answer is because it would be too easy to start out with a power set that is easy at the lower levels and hard at the middle levels and then respec into one that is hard lower and easy middle once you have passed the balance point.
Now here is what I would like to see. A complete power respec trial that lets you choose the new power sets but makes you start over at level 1. Then once you have reached the level that you did the respec you could create a secondary build with the original power sets. I would set the minimum level for the respec at about 30. So if you did the respec at 30 then once you had reached 30 again in the new build you would be able to switch back and forth between the two builds and powersets all the way to 50. -
So I would suggest providing detailed information to web@ncaustin.com like the blocking message suggests. Perhaps they can resolve the problem.

I use reveal to clear zones that I haven't explored yet on a certain character. That way when somebody says "Such and such just east of the so and so marker" I can actually see what area they are talking about.
Plus in some missions that are "defeat boss" I use it to find the quickest way to the final room.
