Also make sure your system is clean inside. Some computers when they overheat just shut down. Some reboot. And some (and this could be the case in your scenario) tremendously lower the power to the processor and GPU to allow them to cool.
The graphical updates that came along with GR have also boosted the system stress and so the temperatures as well. -
I hate ABC with a white hot fury for canceling that show. I really hope that James Parriott eventually gets to make a mini series or movie that ties things up. He's already revealed some of the stuff that was going to happen had the show continued and it sounds just as awesome as the rest of the series.

Before you state that the sequel hasn't been announced it might be a good idea to check if it has been announced or not.
"Kick Donkey II: Balls to the wall" is currently listed as in production and scheduled for a 2012 release. -
The new dances were just being tested and are actually for a future expansion.

So shouldn't we be hearing something about this since PAX is a week away?

Move Cohupdater to your desktop. Do not shortcut it, move it. Then run it and point it at the right directory and it should work fine.
-
If you can't find it under program files it should be here C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\MyColors\VistaSrv.exe It looks like they renamed it for vista. A second possibility is go to your city of heroes subdirectory and right click on the .exe files. Then select properties and choose the compatibility tab. Then check disable visual themes and desktop composition. At least that's how it works in win7.

You are running windowblinds. Tell it not to reskin anything in the CoH folder and it will load up fine.
-
Also if you are trying to unlock the HEATs you can only do that by getting a hero to 20. Crossing over won't do it nor will leveling a hero archetype to 20 in Praetoria. And Villain archetypes in Praetoria don't unlock VEATs either.

Well, that makes it understandable why nobody guessed it. The description here sounds nothing at all like the description of the manga. Funny how the mind can distort things from the past and something that was minor in the original becomes a major plot line in the memory while the major points simply vanish into the ether.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to re-watch Akira. A great anime movie about small green children and their animated stuffed animals. -
The download server is always slow. I suspect it has almost no resources dedicated to it. Since GR is still shiny and new I have no doubt that a huge amount of people are trying to download the patch so you aren't going to get high speeds.
Just observation from past major patches and updates. I'm pretty sure the download server is actually located on a netbook with a 4800 baud modem connected. -
Are you really running WinNT and service pack 1?
If so I'm boggled. And your computer is probably so old it that it hasn't got a chance in hell of running the game. In fact if WinNT was current when your computer was made then any smartphone on the market and even the ipod touch have more computing power than your computer.
If you have a new computer with NT on it not only is it not using the system anywhere near it's potential, it has so many vulnerabilities that you probably have more drive space taken up by malware than by regular programs.
If (and I'm hoping this is true) you actually have a newer system and something at least as recent as Windows XP (and it looks like it since you are running IE 8) then your installation is extremely corrupted. Hopefully you have the software installation disks or a recovery disk.
Run this program CoHHelper and post the results here. It will give us a look at what your hardware and operating system setup actually are. -
Update the drivers for your video card. The ones you have are two years old.
-
For a quick fix that most likely won't make you happy but should work use your global name change tokens, if you have any available.
-
Old faces are no longer available. Word is that there was something far too disturbing about certain grandmas.

The name and password you use to log into the game are identical to the name and password you use to log into these forums. Your sentence structure leads me to think that english is not your native language. So you probably have a EU account and are trying to log into the US servers or the other way around.
Look in your game directory. If the program names are cohupdater.eu.exe and cityofheroes.eu.exe then you have a EU version of the game. If they are cohupdater.exe and cityofheroes.exe then you have the US version of the game. Either way change the names of those files to whichever one they aren't and then try again. Just remember, you will have to change the target of your shortcut to match the new file name. -
It's likely because your onboard video solution is an intel chip. Intel graphics chips don't work well with opengl which is what CoH uses. Updating your video drivers might help but likely not.
-
Not for me. You most likely have a corrupted pigg file. Next time you start the game try verifying files. If that doesn't fix it then delete coh.checksum and see if that takes care of it.

The reason they did this is so you can do a deeper search. Before you could search and that first screen of the list was all you would get. Anybody who may have been on that list further down would never be picked up in any search unless you narrowed down the search pattern by level, archetype, or zone. With the ability of teams to form across any levels thanks to SSK that form of searching just didn't make sense.
Now when you search it takes the first fifty in the list. Then when you hit the search button again it takes the next 50, then the next, and so on. You can actually see every one of those characters who before was just an unlisted statistic called "list truncated". You can still count how many people are on who are not hidden. Just hit search again and again. Each time will be a new 50 character chunk until the last one which can be anywhere between 1 and 50. -

Chances are it's your system dropping down processor power to prevent damage due to overheating. Try using some canned air to clean out your system thoroughly. Whenever cleaning any of the fans hold them in place with a pencil eraser so they don't spin as you spray them.
If you are still having the same problem afterwords then post here again. -
I don't think Mother of Mercy actually exists in game. It's supposed to be that shadowy place that you never ever want to get sent to.
I could be wrong but that's the impression I got. That it wasn't actually anywhere in the game. -
Or just tab past it the first time. Cycle through the open windows and only select coh when you get to it the second time.
-
I'll second what Father X said. I've always had world detail set to 200% before this and had no problems. Now with the additional rendering needed for shadows and reflections dropping it down to 100% results in a significant framerate increase.

The code you entered wasn't the game code, it was the perk code for the special enhancements or whatever it is being given out by EB. Your actual game code is in the quick reference manual.
