Help please, I can't see my in-game avatars

I've noticed a strange bug since I installed cities (aka CoH) on my new laptop... when I try to look my costume slots in my costume change window, view info. or talk to contacts the box where the character avatar is supposed to show up is completely blank. (This gets sort of annoying when I try to change costumes.) The rest of the aspects of the game work great but this seems to be the only problem I've come across. I have an HP laptop that has Windows 7, can anyone help me fix this? Has anyone else come across this annoying problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated in trying to fix this bug. Thank you.

It's likely because your onboard video solution is an intel chip. Intel graphics chips don't work well with opengl which is what CoH uses. Updating your video drivers might help but likely not.
