Well, I've only seen two episodes myself. The Wacky Racers episode and the Aquaman on vacation episode. And those two definitely outdo the Adam West series. And I think even Pokemon is better than that Aquaman travesty. But that's just my personal taste.

No longer limited to a team size of 8?
But seriously I'm still staying it's the War Witch task force. -
I second this. It wasn't my cup of tea. The show reminded me of a cross between the 60s Batman series and the Wacky Racers. In fact the first episode I saw was exactly that.
A little humor like in Teen Titans is ok but a complete series composed of goofiness just turns me off so I turn it off. -
It's going to be the War Witch Task Force which WW hinted at a couple months back. And unfortunately players will be certain to abbreviate it as WTF.

Please post the results of these two programs CoHHelper and Hijackthis But Just guessing I'm going to say it's because your laptop has an intel video solution rather than a decent video chip. And out of date drivers.
CoH really doesn't run on laptops any more except for high end gaming laptops. How old it is doesn't matter nearly so much as what the manufacturer intended it to be used as. -
Saw the premier episode and it's pretty good. There are of course some super power things that just don't make sense since unlike Heroes they were going for an entertainment rather than authenticity feel. Overall though I enjoyed it and will continue to watch it.
*****SPOILER*****
The super power thing that bugged me most involves the Michael Chiklis character. His power is super strength and nigh invulnerability. His wife has super speed, he doesn't. But he can catch bullets. -
Quote:I once kept the Badgers flash playing in the background while I screwed around on the computer for a couple hours. Don't ever do this if you want to remain sane.

best player names? I don't know. I suppose Karen, Julio, Marcus. Oh and I like Tracy because they could be a male or female player.
Favorite character names I'd have to say Tankerbelle is still my favorite. -
Just reinforcing here. Canceling your account doesn't mean that you will lose access to the game or your prepaid time. It just means that when the prepaid time runs out it won't automatically renew. If you cancel the account then reopen it with the new credit card then things will go on as usual with either automatic renewal or not depending on how you set it up. Canceling the account is the ONLY way to change credit cards.

Going to your game directory and right changing the visual theme and desktop composition is the easiest and least system changing way to deal with it. It's the same as telling windowblinds not to reskin a program.
-
Latest Realtek audio drivers are here Give them a try and see if it helps. But it might just be that your video card isn't up to handling those maps.
Could you put up another CoHhelper though so we can see if the video update installed correctly? -
It is a windows 7 problem having to do with the look and feel of the system. The way things are semi transparent and the other little things like open tab preview and such. It essentially works like windowblinds and reskins the programs. Windows recognizes this and does try to avoid it by returning its color scheme to basic when CoH loads. However if you tab out and cycle back to the game you get a frozen screen.
There are multiple ways to deal with this. I never tried the service pack 2 compatibility solution so I'll have to store that information away. The second way to deal with it is to go to your game directory and open up properties on each of the .exe files. Then choose the compatibility tab and check the two boxes "disable visual themes" and "disable desktop composition". The third way to deal with it which doesn't involve changing any settings is this. When you switch back to the game don't do so by mouse clicking on it. Use the alt-tab and cycle past the game once then stop on it the next time. For some reason cycling past it the first time keeps the freeze from happening. -
You were playing the game like a champ before on only 504 megs of memory? That does not sound even remotely possible. If that's the amount of memory you had before then my hat is off to you. Both for getting the game to run and for the patience it would take to deal with the long load times and minimal graphics.
If you did have more memory than that then there is your problem. You've got a bad stick of ram. -
I have to second what Quint said. That system will never run the game. It would be nice if it were really made clearer on the game box just how high end a system this game takes to run well. Even the minimum requirement systems won't make for a pleasant game experience.

If hijackthis isn't working then there is a chance you've got a virus. Many of them will deliberately block it from starting. It could just be some other glitch but that's the most common reason. Try renaming it to something else and running it. If it works then it's definitely a virus.

There is another possibility. The contact introduction method in Praetoria to put it bluntly sucks and is hopefully a bug. There are times when you get sent to talk to what seems to be a new contact but they don't offer you a mission or appear in your contact list after you talk to them. Well it just so happens that they actually are new contacts but you have to talk to them twice before they appear on your contact list. So it's possible you still have other contacts hanging around out there but you haven't fully activated them yet.

Sometimes the audio in this game also causes problems with framerate. You have two audio devices and both are very out of date on their drivers. I've got to run off to work so I can't get you a download location for them right now but I'm sure somebody here can if you can't find them. I'll be checking back either tonight or tomorrow depending on how long today winds up being.
To test the audio theory next time you have a huge drop in frame rate go into your game settings and turn off both sound and music. -
Well, you can't expect spectacular results with only an 8600 for a video card but you should be getting better fps with your settings that low.
Next step. Try updating your Realtek audio drivers. It doesn't make much sense but sometimes the audio in this game conflicts with the video and lowers frame rate. A quick way to test just how much you are being affected is to go in game and turn off sounds and music then check your framerate. -
Looks like. The dance emotes tested in GRB plus the sports emotes you can see around Praetoria plus some others.
-
Ok, try running in windowed mode rather than fullscreen and see what result that has.
-
If you go to the doctor with swollen joints and the doctor asks what your diet is like hopefully you don't say "I don't see what diet has to do with the problem. It's my joints not my stomach."
Not meaning to be insulting but the players who hang out here in the tech forum do this because we like helping out other players who are having problems. None of us work for the company but many of us have a lot of experience spotting problems based on the information from two simple programs. Often the symptoms seem completely unrelated to the problem.
So your problem could indeed just be one particular setting. Or it could be something with your drivers. Or it could be something with some other program known to drain resources or conflict with CoH. And on top of that CoHHelper will list not only your driver and hardware information but your in game settings.
So we can guess things, for instance the mention of "white" maps says to me older drivers. But that's just a guess. And if you feel like digging up that information the two programs are here.
CoHHelper and Hijackthis -
Yes, definitely use canned air. When you do though make sure that you use the eraser end of a pencil to keep the fans from spinning as you blow them off. It can damage the fan and the computer if you allow it to freely spin. Also make extra sure to completely clean the heat sinks. They are after all what you most want to be clear of dust. And never turn the can upside down otherwise you will be spraying liquid gas directly onto your motherboard and that's generally not a good thing.

Hmmm.... I don't think I've run across that mission yet. If I have then it wasn't bugged for me.
Longest time for me? Just under 10 minutes. Sometimes I think that somebody has flagged certain accounts based on how obnoxious they are in the forums or how many /petitions they get for behavior in game.
The reason I say this is because most of the threads that start with a complaint about long waits, or complaints I've seen in broadcast usually involve cursing out support as being composed of lazy idiots etc etc etc... And I've also seen threads that start "Everybody on my team has sent multiple petitions". Basically all things that if I were a GM would make me shuffle that person back to the rear of the line. -
Welcome to the association of players who wish they knew why this game puts so much stress on the GPU, or AOPWWTKWTGPSMSOTGPU for those who insist on abbreviations.
The only thing I've come up with is it's possibly because the game uses OpenGL which few others do.
