  1. I'm having no loading problems. And in fact this thread just made me realize it's been over a week since I was auto logged out.
  2. Just wondering if the tentacle is a bit of environmental graphic wizardry like the dust devils or is an actual creature spawned outside the barrier.

And if one were able to get past the barrier would it be attackable.
  3. I love the dust devils. And the sparking power lines. And so many other little touches.
  4. Not seeing anything like that myself though I have experienced it in the past. It sounds like some major node is down between you and there. Generally this sort of problem is fixed in a couple days.

A brief search hasn't come up with much although a huge amount of skype supernodes seem to have gone down today.

    Odd Sound FX

Wow, that is a bizarre one. So no, I haven't experienced it. At least I don't think I have. Now I'm going to have to try spinning the camera around to see if things actually are quieter when facing the back.

The one weird sound effect I get is sound of the experiment emote from the science pack. I occasionally faintly hear the sound of the liquid pouring even when nobody is around.
  6. Bah I say. Bah Humbug. Being at work during the only time these are available sucks.

    Updater slow!!!

Rx10 is the only person in these forums I've ever put on ignore. Just because every time you try to help him with a suggestion he sticks his fingers in his ears, says "Lalalalalalalala I'm not listening" and then goes back to complaining about how it is in no way possible that it is the fault of his system or connection and that NCSoft is full of programmers who don't know what they are doing and never fix anything.

It's like trying to talk to Veruca Salt.
  8. Yeah, somebody might be able to find you more recent drivers for that chipset but like I said, Intel doesn't really care if it's graphic chips are compatible with any games or not. I did some quick searches but wasn't able to find any updates. Your only option might be to use a different computer.
  9. They aren't posting because NCSoft has instituted a new policy that devs will be fired if they post on the forums too much. First BaB, then Castle. All the rest are cowering in feat that their next post might be their last so they are saving it for something epic.

  11. First as to the reasons you started the thread. I have to agree completely. I've wanted a more muscular and bulkier option for women for years. Basically I've wanted a female version of the Huge model. I would like to be able to make female bodybuilder types. I would like to be able to make females in plate armor who look like females in plate armor.

    As for the other things.

All the hair styles for both sexes pretty much look unrealistic except for the buzz cut and bald styles. And they will never look good until we get flowing hair. Anything even semi long will look hairspray laden because it doesn't ever move.

All the chest symbols for both female and male should have a slider. Many has been the time when I've created a male toon and skipped the symbol just because I didn't want something that covered half their chest. I want to be able to have a chest symbol that ranges from the size of Batman or Robin up to the size of Superman or Captain Marvel.

Now as to the reason so many people seem to be focusing on a side issue of your post instead of what you consider the main focus.

The problem was that you need to reread your own initial post from the view of an outsider and read only the words that are there not the thoughts that inspired them. It's not an easy thing to do because most people automatically fill in the blanks in their own writing. That is why any good author gets an editor. What may seem blatantly obvious to the person who wrote something is often not even slightly obvious to a reader. So although your intent may have been obvious to you it basically came across as "I hate big boobies because I have small boobies and nobody in the world has big boobies like that." with some extra stuff tagged on as an afterthought.

You're a young girl still in school. Of course the majority of girls you know have small (or at least smaller) boobs. That's like somebody from Japan complaining that the boobs are unrealistic because none of the women they know are even as large as the smallest setting. Environment alters perceptions of normality.

I myself just ran through a list of my female friends and about 25 percent of them would match up with mid range to high range on the slider. Then again I'm an adult with fully matured friends.

And you basically distracted everybody from your own initial suggestions and arguments yourself by focusing not on the alterations you want but rather on arguing with anybody who said that large boobs were fairly common.

  13. Neilson ratings are for idiots. They only take into account people who don't know how to time shift or people who are willing to fill out a diary.

It's like Ford asking the Amish what their favorite features are in a car.

    Young Justice

Fite & Maad... and Empress (Anita Fite) was left in an interesting situation where she was forced to raise her parents with the help of her "Uncle" Maad.

Cissie King-Jones was just forgotten even though she is a great character and a nice female version to Red Arrow.

Slo-bo was killed off, from what I can tell, just because the series was ending and having Slo-bo running around would be weird I guess.

Secret, Greta Hayes, was forgotten even though she too has a great little possible continuation to her story since Darkseid apparently removed her powers, but he could only remove the "Evil" aspect of the power and not the blessing by the light god so she should have other powers or something.

Traya, Red Tornado's daughter, who has 170 IQ forgotten as well. She should be a part of Teen Titans as their resident genius or working for Oracle seeing as she is supposedly Smarter than Brainiac.

Seriously, these are all good characters and they're not being used... I was given the impression that Anita, Cissie, Traya, and Greta were all absorbed into the Wonder Girl comic but they seem to have been just a, "Where are they?" "Oh... They are friends with Cassie over here off screen..." It's annoying.

I think they should take those characters and make some sort of crazy team... perhaps maybe be employed by Batman, inc. or Oracle.

Also...The Super-Cycle and The Max have been just completely forgotten... A sentient vehicle that has an attachment to the people of Young Justice and a Interstellar space ship have been forgotten...how is that even possible when those would be very useful...
Never read the series but I think you must have made a mistake there. 170 IQ isn't that high. I mean it's definitely advanced genius level but compared to the comic book super-intelligences it's insignificant.
  15. These are exactly the files we need to help diagnose problems but since there was no response from the OP I'm going to guess based on what I am seeing.

My guess: Game has a very low frame rate or there is some other graphics problem like contacts not showing up in contact window.

Answer: The computer doesn't have a graphics card but is instead relying on an intel graphics chip which was never intended for advanced graphical use. Intel basically creates chips which can manage low level graphics but refuses to update their drivers because as is they work just fine for browsing or watching videos. And computer manufacturers continue to use those chips because they can get them cheap. Also the processor is lower end for video game usage. It's a notebook computer that was in no way designed for playing high end games. And there isn't really any solution other than to play the game in safe mode and be satisfied with your results.

Since all the video processing has to rely on ram and there are only 2 gigs of ram in the system there is a chance that performance could be slightly upgraded by expanding the system to its maximum of 4 gigs but that performance leap would be fairly minor consisting mostly of faster load time when switching zones or loading into a mission.

If that isn't the problem then let us know what is and maybe we can come up with something.
  16. Take care Ozzie. And at least you can still read the forums. I'm sure somebody here will now take up the cause and link to your reviews when a new one comes out. Not me since I tend to even forget what day of the week it is but somebody.
  17. I would love the set since that's how I play scrappers anyway. However I can immediately see that I would slot for maximum recharge in Deathwish and Walk it off. Just like blaster nuke teams my strategy would be based around using Deathwish every second encounter if possible.

Of course this would make me immensely unpopular for any Master Of attempts but that's life on the edge.
  18. Also at 13 you can easily earn enough money to pay for the gameplay. Mow a lawn in spring and summer, in winter shovel a walkway. It doesn't take a whole lot of work to earn $15 from somebody in your neighborhood if you actually go out and look for little jobs that need doing.

I have to agree with this. If someone complains that the enhancements that they slotted aren't doing anything and then they use as evidence an image of a full enhancement tray and empty power slots they have pretty much invalidated the argument. There would be no reason to show empty slots as proof of them being correctly placed so it would be common sense to assume that they person who posted the image was incorrect.

And we have the exact same thing here. An image of an email that was incorrectly replied to being used as proof that the email was correctly replied to. A picture is worth a thousand words and all that. Also there have been people here in the past who have done the exact same sort of thing and then after it has been pointed out to them said "Oh, I didn't see those reply below/above comments before."

  21. Sorry to threadjack your announcement Shecky but I figure this is the best place to get help for a Christmas project I had in mind. And the event would be the perfect place.

If a character has an aura and they use the self destruct power then the aura will be left behind and hover there so long as the character doesn't go to the hospital. Well it just so happens that the Firefly aura makes great twinkle lights and the Alpha aura makes a great star for the top of a tree. I would like to get as many people together as possible to decorate either the rails of the chalet or a tree with Christmas lights. The tree can only be done if it's possible to stand on the branches and I'm not sure if it is.

It would make for a great holiday photo opportunity.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Shecky.

    Edition Help

Just an added warning. When they activate their account they will be asked to supply either a credit card number or a game time code.

Yes a free month comes with the basic edition but for some reason you can't start playing on that unless you register a credit card number or time card code with the account. Most likely it's another RMT combat measure but I don't believe that has ever been verified. For people who intend to keep playing the game this is no problem but I have seen people who just want to try for a month start screaming bloody murder.

Registering a credit card with the account WILL NOT result in a charge to the credit card until the initial 30 days has run out. And they can in fact cancel their subscription moments after they activate it and they will still get their 30 days with absolutely zero chance that the credit card will be charged.

Well if you really want to go that way then technically my last sentence was on a completely different topic. I stated that the interface did need to be fixed because it was horribly broken. So my actual argument against the character limit fit well within current bio limits.

Also I am quite certain that the original character bio limit was much shorter than it is now. Roughly half the size. I may be wrong but that is the way I remember it. It's too bad that the original CoH game booklet didn't include anything about how big your bio can be.
  24. It wouldn't hurt although I've only come up against the limit once myself. Lord Darkity Dark of Darkness was forced to become merely Lord Darkity Dark. Although 25 characters would still only get Lord Darkity Dark of Dark.
  25. I'm probably going to get jumped on here but I really really don't want any more bio space available. It has already been increased once and even that wasn't necessary. I like reading bios but seriously the majority of people who use the entire space are poor writers because they have never learned to edit what they are writing.

A bio is supposed to be a brief introduction to the character. If you want to learn more then you talk to them. A bio is not a novel, it is the teaser on the back of the book (or inside flap or whatever).

A "writer" can intrigue you with a hundred words. Asking for a longer bio because you can't write your story is like asking for double the amount of slots per power because you can't make your character work well with only 6.

Learn to work within restrictions and your ability grows. Eliminate restrictions and you eliminate any reason to improve.

On the other hand I do agree completely with fixing the interface. It is beyond broken unless you manage to type your bio perfectly the first time with absolutely zero errors.
