I'd play the set. It looks like it would be a lot of fun.
-
I too have been waiting forever for an elec/elec dominator so I'll be rolling one up on day one as well.
If I get in on the beta, I'll play it sooner. -
I saw that Electric control was coming with GR. I'll likely play an elec/* dominator right off the bat. I hope that there will be other power sets coming for dominators as well.

I'm just glad that it was announced early. The Boston MA meet and greet was announced too late to buy tickets. I would have gone if I had more notice.
Hearing this 112 or so days before the con is a good idea. It's plenty of time for me to decide whether I can make it out to NYC or not.
Now being from Connecticut I think NY is a great venue. However, I'd also like propose a European stop as well. They seem to be a little under appreciated. -
I went the other way. I took the fitness pool and passed on Drain Psych (for now). Just the base slot has been enough for me about 75% of the time. An extra two slots into stamina has been great and meets most of my end needs. Still this is not enough for me to sustain continuous battles indefinably so I'll add DP later.

Quote:I have to totally agree. I'd love to get my fort up more though. I'm willing to even pay up to bring her up to speed, but the damage output has been a bit lack luster.I love my Night Widow, can't stand the fort build.
Forts are harder to perma ML, less damage, an imo jus not as fun.
Try them both, with dual builds you have nothing to loose
The NW in my hands has been better against bosses and EBs as she has the defenses to keep up against them. My fortunata build has so far not been able to hold off tougher critters and doesn't have the defense to go toe-to-toe against them. -
I often just try to gale critters into corners. After that, you can unleash everything on them.

Like others have posted, I'd hate to have a 'gather for bubbles' every 4 minutes.
I'd prefer for the duration to last longer (around 10 minutes), as I don't like having to rebubble all the time.
Still, a bubbler would then no longer need to do any 'defending' if this were the case. Every other defener has to manage thier buffs in an on-going basis. -
I think these are great and in line with what is typically offered for vet rewards.

Brilliant! I learned something today! -
"Earth Assault" - stone throwing!
-
Just got mine!
I look forward to creating my mad scientist after work! -
The brute's better capabiliy on taking damage I think is a strong selling point for me. WP in particular is great for the sustained fights.
-
Heh. Perhaps if they had different models and animations to reflect that. So if they had dual meat cleavers and just chopping animations, that would fit a brute better.

Happy Birthday!
My birthday will be later this month on the 21st. I've already asked my significant other for the SuperBooster III pack if its out by then. If not, then jewlery -
I'm looking to make a DB/WP scrapper or brute in anticipation of Going Rogue. As her good or evil alignment will not matter, I wanted to pan the forums for opinions of which would be better:
Dual blades / Willpower Brute or Scrapper?
I'm a bit uncertain how their bonuses would match up on a one-to-one, all things considered equal basis.
Opinions?
I will also be posting this is the brute forum.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this guide.
The guide offers a single, clear argument on how enemy bases should be fleshed out and then offers several ideas on how to do this. Well done, and a worthwhile read. -
I was thinking about this myself earlier.
However, I was also taking into account that I16 will introduce color chages. So any power you have can come off dark.
Personally, I'm thiking of making a mind/psi dom, then darkening the powers. This will create more of the controller-ish kind of vampire. -
I have to say that I've never really liked playing a defender (although corruptors seem fun). If I have a controller that plays like a defender, I loose interest really quick.
That being said, I do like playing heroes over villains. So I'd really like to play a blue-dominator when going rogue comes out.
The fact that I can also change the powers' colors as well, now that just sells the hero dom idea to me. -

Yeah. that'll work. except for the part where nobody will play non-DC arcs ever again.

Ah see, that is where you and I would disagree.
You can always get an SG mate to play and score your arc. I also intentionally left the nomination process open a bit. Perhaps after 5-10 people have rated your arc a dev (or player committee) could look at it. Perhaps offer badges for playing and rating unqualified arcs.
You'd also still get tickets for playing in unqualified arcs. Perhaps a bonus to them as an incentive?
There could be several creative ways to get your story out there and get players to try it. Certainly, this is a good trade for dealing with broken exploits. -
I understand that the MA is meant for players to use this as a tool for writing thier own arcs and not as an exploit.
My idea is in two parts:
1) Only Developer's Choice and special authors' missions should offer XP (other missions could still offer badges and tickets).
2) Developers offer a more loose qualification for "Developer's Choice": Something like Dev Choice: Accepted and Dev Choice: Exceptional. There would have to be some nomination process allowing for streamlining what missions could be promoted by the Devs. Alternatively, perhaps a committee of players could be appointed to oversee this type of process - allowing for further player interaction in the game!
This way creative, non-exploitive type missions could still be given an acceptable rating (giving XP) while farming (or other exploitive) missions would simply never be qualified.
You can still powerplay through missions. But then again, you could always have done that. So players would still have the intended use of the MA, still have XP from appropriate missions while undoing a bit of the exploitive behavior.
Bonus Idea: 3) One might also look into the SK/LK system as well. This has been a heavily exploited feature in the MA. Perhaps keep this feature in un-qualified MA arcs, but have more of the standard SK/LK-ing system for Accepted and Exceptional arcs. -
Would this then mean that elude would add no defense bonus?
I think elude has been bringing me above this level. -
The robots aren't evil, the guy with thier remote control is.
That being said, I just hope I'll be able to change their colors come I16.
As for going Rogue, I think the robots would be the most likely to follow the MM as thier programmed to do.
As for the other minions, I might find it hard to believe that thugs would change thier alignment from evil to good just because their boss said so. Then again, perhaps they'd just follow the MM everywhere regardless of his ideas or motives.
