Grizzled Veteran makes his return this Monday ...
-
Well if its PvP then I can't fairly comment since I've never properly tried out my blaster in the zones/arena (few fun matches with friends). When I'm playing a stalker I think it favours the other player since the stealth can be glitchy, placate is glitchy combined with the whole EM>all problem.
PvE I'd say its harder on a blaster solo purely because he has no status protection, let alone defences for the majority of the build. However the flip side is that the stalker will be weaker in damage output in the earlier levels (pre 26) so slower to level.
Basically, both will struggle at times like any AT really -

Smoke flash is being fixed in i11 so it 'might' be worth while taking for the acc debuff.( i say that in the looses term possible!)
RE Majiks build
As stated before go for dmg in attacks
BU in the 20's not worth it pre SO's
As for Acro i dunno .. i have a kat/nin and KD has never bothered me but i have TP so any effects like earthquake i can get off, plus there always the KD protection IO if it bothers you that much.
Blinding Powder again not worth the confuse enhancers.
2 acc 3 recharge best.
Shockwave ..hmm some ppl like it others don't and admittedly i left it for a filler in the 40's
Its got the same dmg as strike (142).
I'd find another couple slots for caltrops (recharge) .. its very handy.

While it says 'Blinding Flash' in the notes, unless they added something to Smoke Flash, I believe it refers to Blinding Powders Tohit Debuff values. 7.5% sure beats .75% whatever power it is anyhowI find the confuse part to be quite consistant but then again, I've got a mix of two confuse sets in mine.
As for Acrobatics, well Chin said he'd dabble in PvP with this so just a safer option there thats all.
Already mentioned it was a 1-50 build so in a level up mode I'd still have BU at 8 but have another attack while I use temp travels. -

Build looks good, but I really can't get over the fact that you only slot 2 dmg in each attack. Claws damage is pathetic and not enhancing it, will drive you mad. Kuji-In Rin only needs 2 rech to be perma. And placate really needs 3 rech or you'll find yourself waiting for it. 2 end redux on hide is overslotting it.
[/ QUOTE ]
As you say the damage is not the greatest (I know, I've got one on the go with Energy Aura @37) so I personally favour a spammy type approach hence the recharge. I don't like the low return on a third lvl 50 IO as well so a more likely enhancement would be a Dmg/Recharge but I didn't want to over complicate it all
Kuji-In Rin has only 2 recharge listedFinally re Placate, well if Mids figure is correct (Ive not bothered to time in game) then its a difference of two seconds with a third lvl 50 recharge IO so for me thats really not worth it so I add some range. With standard SO's of course I'd stay x3 recharge
Now theres no endurance cost to Hide, I'd prob just have a max of three slots for defence buff or expand it if theres some set bonus/specials out there you want. Yeah your right the second one would probably be more usefull on caltrops for special/recharge/slow IO. -
Turn out wasn't great which didn't help and slow as you say Saxtus.
Would like to see what would happen if Hami was properly attacked from all directions at the same time (with appropriate buffage/debuffing). -
This is pretty much what I'd go with for a PvE focused Claw/Nin stalker - a respec 1-50 build tho (add in the tier3 attack at the expense of fitness/travel while you have temp travels).

One look at the netgraph and its a sea of red so no go for me today, sorry
-
Hmmm so it is. Guess thats me thinking that Plasma was the end all for status protection (has it always been that way?)
-
Er Plasma shield is the status protection shield
-
Best you could hope for solo is the mob stuck in the poison trap, getting some proc dmg applied then unleashing an aim and soul drained atomic blast.
I wouldn't take it at 32 but I'd try to work it in at 41+ depending on patron choice, mostly for giggles (3 slot for dmg at most) -

Who rolls stalkers for PvE anymore?
[/ QUOTE ]
I always have -
Why team with a Stalker?
Because your friend wants to play that type of villain and has spent a long time developing them thats why! -
With some acc that taunt will be pretty decent
Very wierd to see it in use but it did the job must admit.
This week we started and finished the Slot Machine arc, very enjoyable facing Devouring Earth with all our man made traps.
Two of us now level 34 -
Just to say thanks again for bringing my stalker into that RSF the other day Max
-
I always favour the mass immob for those times you have a decent herding brute and a toggle using corr (eg rad) or simply to allow a fast retreat
-
Thats why having that AoE sleep is dammned handy for openings when you typically have a single target buddy
Or pull onto an ice patch from the safety of a corner, have the stalker move in to deal with left over aggro then join in as situation requires.
Basically requires the stalker to slug it out and the dom to be selective on their AoE/cone moves. -

Dare I say it?
I feel so overpowered and unstoppable with my Grav/Psi - in PVE anyway
[/ QUOTE ]
My guess is that you are between lvls 32 and 40, and that you solo alot ?

His dom is level 50, so no -
If I'm /FF I'm looking at getting any form of extra D I can (ideally Aoe) and any other secondary its +HP, good pet %'s and secondary %'s. Any form of +recovery or reduced status effects are handy too
-
Probably because placate is bugged and it won't save you unless your doing a strict 1 vs 1 fight.
-
Or use Teleport
I have a Spines/DA stalker and its been a lot more harder to level than any other stalker I've got (Regens/Nin/EA ones in the main). That might be more todo with Spines being a fairly slow animation set than anything todo with the /DA side (tho the end drain on the heal is absurd). Its a decent set and if you PvE only with it then IO's help ditch the need for Acro. I'd just say stay away from the Spines with it (spines is good but just not on a /DA stalker imho) -
Either a Steadfast Protection one which is a resistance based IO, so you would stick an extra slot into either Fire Shield, Plasma Shield or even the passive Temp Protection for that one.
Or you get a Karma recipe one which is the defence based set and slot that into say Combat Jumping. -
Grats dude
Go Trappers!(I'm sure the TNT posse will be equally proud of ya)

A different night than normal for TNT - PvP in SC!
Noddy, Phipps and Grizz took some early beatings (and there were many) but came back strong and I think we (the combined villain forces) got the win overall
Think we made some new friends among the 'gooders' and this combined with last nights SC PvP fest was quite enjoyable
(to the stormy in Super Union, sorry for the drone but you were #1 uber threat at that point and it was the only one of the night(from me anyway).)
