Whats the most overpowered set... I know this is odd to ask in a Dom thread as they need a buff, but generally whats the Fotm when it comes to Doms?

I was thinking about PVP ~ ? / Ice probably, And if anyone could post a good Build that would gives those pesky heros in Sirens Call a headache please.

I don't know about Flavor of the Month, but I've found Mind to be a good primary. None of this "immobilize" business. And Telekinesis is the bane of, well, anyone facing a Mind Dom. There's only 3 powers in the game that even give you a chance against it and your other mind powers can detoggle 2 of them so they stop working (an advantage to having a Sleep Mez attack as your 1st power).

But that's my 2 cents. My Dom is fun in PVP and usually does well. Well, that is when a stalker doesn't one-shot him from behind. There's not helping that.

Doms don't really have a FoTM, because Doms can defeat their targets in so many good ways. However I don't hear "Plant/NRG is teh ovarpowardd!1!" so use common sense on that one.

Mind/Ice is the "FotM" at the moment, but Mind/Fire is equally good.

Mind/Fire is the FotM in the US at the moment, Mind/Ice is that in the EU side I think. I personally find Fire/Ice incredibly fun and powerful in zonal pvp with more damage dealing capability than Mind/.

Plant/ is generally regarded as the weakest primary, /Energy the weakest secondary.

Fire/ has fast control and Fire Imps. Grav/ and Ice/ both offer neat tricks and movement reduction for those moments when suppression kicks in (and both have a good pet as well), Mind/ offers an incredible array of various forms of Control, especially Telekinesis. Plant/ has some problems (long activation hold that requires the target to be on the ground), but when used with skill, it rocks your socks off.

/Ice is a good secondary if you want to focus on "hold-then-damage", /fire if you want to go "damage-then-damage-some-more", /thorns when you realize Dominators are a bit lacking in the ToHit department. /Psi rocks AoE-wise and thus is great for team-type PvP. And /Energy offers some additional control in the form of the Stuns, but suffers from long activation times and poor secondary effect in half the attacks (knockback, which just doesn't rock that much).

Overpowered and dominator, should not be used in the same sentence. However for a few brief levels my Fire/Fire dom was a solo players dream. Which past lvl 40 quickly became a nightmare. Occasionally I still have brief moments of former glory but sadly I do not have the emotional strength to get him to 50.

But for you - Go with Fire / Psi

Why Fire / Psi ?

I like the powerboost Idae, on a Dom With "domination" as well it must be a h*ll of a hold.

I liked Mind for the confusion + Telekinesis Idea. ~ I have a Fire / Kin Troller and dont find Fire control that good =(

U can't stack Mez cause they are all different, 1 Disorient, 1 Immob, 1 Hold,., etc.. No powers stack >.<
And u can't get Imps into Sirens either. which is your main dng dealer.

I like / ICE cause ur powerboost also effects the Slow + - recharge u get. ~ so even once free'd they have no attacks.

So Far im looking at Mind / Ice

With the following powers ~

Mesmerize Ice Bolt
Dominate Ice Sword
Confuse Ice Blast
Telekinesis Powerboost
Terrify

Swift, Health, Stamina

Combat Jumping, Super Jump

Stealth, Invisibility

Oh lord, I almost forgot....Terrify is golden in pvp. My Mind Dom might not be able to do much damage, but it's fun to smack a fear effect on some godlike brutes and scrappers when they're coming to get you. Is it only /dark armor types that get fear resistance?

Btw I didn't know that /ice came with powerboost. That's very nice...I made a Grav/Energy just to get powerboost didn't notice it was lurking in other secondaries.

I love confusion in PvE, but in PVP it just....well, it only works if you've got a team and the team is on the other side. I've had some serious fun with other Dom's pets and Mastermind Minions with it, but it hasn't helped out too much because my enemies just tilt their camera so I'm the only one on their screen, thereby mostly negating the effect. Mostly.

Although many ppl may say doms arent good, and they need a buff and all that stuff, I think you should try it at your own and get an opinion, dont believe that ppl that say bad things just because (maybe) they dont know to play the AT, or just it needs to play in a clever way. If you think that way maybe you should try another AT, it is very possible that you become frustated with the dominators and in a few weeks/months you will come here to post "Buff dominators"...

Once said that last parragraph, let me give you some advice... If your purpose is pvping in Sirens go with Mind/Energy, and i will explain you why:

Mind has the best ST hold in all the sets, fastest activation, and it checks the psi defense to hit (which it is usually 0 in enemies at lvl30 in Sirens). Also it has TK that is plainly cheap to get a kill, Terrify, and usefull tools like sleeps and knock-up (firstly u need to drop toggles, then u can perma knock them )

Energy becoz it is the only secondary that gets the most powerfull power at lvl28, and It will be available at lvl30 (Sirens, remember...): Total Focus. Use this power with care, since it will take u rooted 3.3 secs, but it will make a big hurt in ur enemy.

Pools: fitness (go for swift and hurdle to get more movement), hasten (a must to get domination recharged faster, in PvP is usefull to stack holds too), medicine (PB + aid self = almost full bar healed) and leaping (maybe u can skip acro coz actually domination offer mez protection).

Try it and enjoy it, you will never regret it... Im doing a pvper dominator, but im not going to stop it in Sirens... If you want that too, maybe you could think in mind/ice (im doin that, but you have to wait till lvls 40s to get it fully functional) or maybe you could think in mind/fire (the only ranged toggle dropper power is here, it is called blaze and you have to wait till lvl38 too... And also, Fiery embrace is a boom in your dmg...)

Hope it helps, Ive played lot of Doms until 40s since they are my favourite AT and Ive found they are really good in pvp, but you have to know to play them... maybe I have found mind/ice the best combo becoz I have tried all of them, or maybe that is the best combo... Not sure bout this last idea...

Reports are great too in a plant/thorns, there was a great pvper dominator who really owned in Recluse Victory when it came alive, but Ive got not enough experience to give you an opinion...

Power Boost only affects the movement slow, not the -rechg, but yeah mind/ice ftw!!!111!!!

I enjoy having plant because the funkiness of it but it is your choice. ;_; id love to see a whole team of plants at a pvp overpower them other doms! Roar! Plants FTW ^.^

Ice/Thorn = epic win.

But I'm the only one
I guess that shows that you don't have to be a fotm dom (which I'm unsure there even is yet ) to be a good dom. That, or Slows + secondary with Aim and -defense is ftw.

But shockwave is the only thing that gives out good orange numbers in that set. Gotta wait till lvl 38(39) before you can get this superb power to rock your world (and lets be honest it's way overpowered and high on the list to be swung at with the nerfbat). Till then Psi assault is pretty pants on dam, but has decent secondary effects though. And it lacks PB

I guess Stone Armor is overpowered on Brutes because you have to get to 38 before you really start having some actual protection.

Psychic Shockwave is awesome, but remember that once you get it, you're surrounded by robots and/or carnies. Not to mention that some Longbow/Arachnos bosses have some great resists to it.

Assault Rifle is more likely to get nerfed before Psi Assault, yeah.

Nothing wrong with stone armour till lvl 38 before granite (which is awesome ofcourse provided you have a kin on team )
But imo Psi assault for domis could do very well with a balance check though: tweak shockwave and make it less powerful (increase recharge by a mile if you ask me) and make the other powers -bar DP which is great too- a little better.

Hell no.

Here is your balance check: robots, carnies, lack of ToHit, no Power Boost, weak damage until that magical 38, nerfed sound.
How many enemy groups have psi resists after 38? Many. What do we have to regularly fight against? Umm, Arachnos? Yeah that's a truckload of robots right there, oh, and Fortunatas!
Psi Assault doesn't get Will Dom or TK Blast, but we get PSW instead, consider that as a balance too.

Well yes, you are actually exactly emphasising the point, although you do make it look like the opposite. Read my previous post again wher i said that others powers could do with a little boost indeed, just make shockwave less powerfull. That's the right balance check.

Agreed, but same can be said about many other powers. Still doesn't make them all the same.

What I meant was that in a similar way to kinetics (on controllers) you put up with 37 levels of mediocrity to get those awesome powers
