Hamidon raid - Fri 2-Nov-2007

Who is willing to try it again? No teamspeak/ventrilo, no broadcast channel!

Idea is simple: We decide beforehand who will lead each of the required teams and make sure that they know how to guide their teams. This hopefully will avoid unnecessary conversations in broadcast channel. I will make a temporary global channel that only the 6 team leaders will allowed to enter and we will try to co-ordinate from there.

Reply here if you belong to one the two categories:
<ul type="square">[*]You want to lead one of the following teams and you have the required patience to make sure all of your members will know their roles -- Make sure that you haven't hit the global channel cap or you will have to remove yourself from one of your channels to enter ours...[*]You want to participate as a member in to one of the following teams because you fit it's description and you are able to understand and follow the simple commands that your team leader will give you during the raid
Constructive comments are welcome.

Who want to lead each team? It is important each one that s/he will know what is the plan and have the patience to explain it to his/her team members during the raid. This way, is excluded from leading someone who don't participate to this forum.
Who want to be just a member in one of the teams? It is important to understand that not all the members know what to do and be patient while the leader is trying to explain to everyone.

TEAM 1: I will try to lead the hami tank team that will have 4 x tanker (must be lvl50) and 4 x empath.
TEAM 2: One needed to lead the 6 x debuff toggler and 2 x kinetic team.
TEAM 3: One needed to lead the 4 x scrapper with 4 x empath team.
TEAM 4, 5 &amp; 6 (for short the TEAM X): Three needed to lead TEAM X that will have everybody else that might randomly appear and/or won't fit to any of the above teams.
NO ONE WILL BE TEAMLESS!

I really hope this to work. If there is interest I will post the scenario of each team, i.e. what exactly must do, later in this thread. Everything that we will going to do is SweetChilli's idea and described in detail here.

SCHEDULE
All times are GMT (London time)
<ul type="square">[*]19:00 Team leaders meet at the entrance inside The Hive and begin building their teams. If some don't come in time, we will permanently give their place to someone else willing to lead it's team.[*]19:30 We go hunt some DE to make Hamidon to spawn. Although we have EoEs from last time if we decide that after Hamidon is spawned, we don't have enough, we will jump to Peregrine to hunt some more.[*]20:00 We make sure that everyone knows the plan and that all teams are standardized. Hamidon raid begins...
Temporary global channel details will be given to those that are interested to lead the above teams, by PM.
After 6 hours I will be unable to edit this post, so please check below if there are any changes to the schedule/teams.

Dam - I am unable to make this one, but good luck!

Be nice to give him a pasting every Friday if this works well.

I wouldn't do that if I had lost my faith.
Hopefully I will find others will similar feelings.

I'm up for it, never done it but willing to learn, would probably fit in one of the X teams.

Does it have to be on a Friday again?

I don't think I'll make it in time, besides, dark defenders and mass rez don't seem in demand now so no point anyway.

Posted

That's why we have the X teams Nightmarer...
Hamidon raid is something that everyone should enjoy.

I decided Friday, because it seems that people used to that day. If we do a successful one, we will see, but until then there is no much margin for changes...

Does anyone been in a successful raid since I9 released?

indeed, i will not be joining you however

Until now I have more people saying no than yes. Although I appreciate feedback from both parties, I am missing answers from the "usual suspects"...

It is understandable why most people don't want to participate, last few times wasn't the best way to spend your time and to be honest there are no promises that this one will not categorized under those again, but I was hoping that there will be some people that haven't lost their faith.

It isn't about the reward anymore and you all know it. We are trying to prove that everything can be done with good teamwork!

I have a kinetic fender for team 2, if we can drum up the support for this. I've never done it before but I'll lead if I have to.

You're welcome to come as team leader for TEAM 2!
I will invite you to the Hamidon leaders global channel next time I see you.

Under what global is your fender?

Wonder who I am quoting here....

[ QUOTE ]
The only problem is getting enough people knowing this plan and knowing what they are doing.

[/ QUOTE ]Not really a problem if the 3 team leaders know how to instruct their team members.

[ QUOTE ]
The last thing we need is a people shouting in broadcast asking what they have to do and asking me to explain it again because they cannot be bothered to alt/tab to the forums.

[/ QUOTE ]If team leaders tell their members to speak directly to them if they have any questions, I don't see the point of ever using broadcast.

[ QUOTE ]
Everyone has access to the forums and its all written here so there is no excuse really.

[/ QUOTE ]If you expect to find the people needed for this job through the forum only you're mistaken.
Only a small percent of gamer base even know what a forum is.

The people needed =&lt;50
The people I expect to find through forum &gt;=5

The problem is the timing, last raid was a week ago and that wasn't exactly good.
Having another a week after is very ambitious.
With the need for 49 other people who know what to do, using a new plan suggested by someone who won't be there is a very bad idea.
I would suggest putting this on hold, plan it for a month in the future perhaps so there is time to get ahold of people.
I found the best way is to find people in game, so you can choose who joins, makes sure you have the right ATs you need for specific parts too.
I'm sure you can pull it off sax

I think will be well forgotten when I11 gets out and while more and more people learn about I11 been live at Training room, I don't think I will find anyone by the time we decide that enough time is passed from previous attempt. Of course if nobody appear we will postpone it anyway, I am hoping that this will not be the case.

Good luck with the raid. Can't see why you don't use the tested post I9 method that allows do the raid in 2 and a half hours though, but hey ho, I understand new ideas have to be tested.
Just a suggestion, I think it's rude (or at least not polite) to use the forum for contacting some specific people referred as "the usual suspects". Probably PM's would make less noticeable the "class" differences some people make on this game, it's just a matter of basic politeness.

Post I9 method? are you refering to the old one from the massive amounts of raids we did up to I9, or another methoid that was figured out.

The old one won't work because of the Mitos different resistances and defencs as well as they're AoE attacks.

if theres another for the new raids please post a link

[/ QUOTE ]Because I was where they tried that and after 3-4 hours of no results, people begun to leave... Now multiply that about 4 times that I went on different Fridays and you can see why I don't want to try it again.

[/ QUOTE ]I was referring to my friends that usually come to raids, like Mother's and Dave. Sorry if anyone thought I meant him as something bad and repulsive.

I'd be interested in another hami raid, I wasn't much help last week (my first attempt), but I'm up for another crack at it.

It might be worth noting this thread on the general forum which implies a Halloween ball going on just about the same time (which might suck away some people.

OMG! I haven't noticed that!
I didn't realized that this conflicts with another event and when I spoke to Mother's about the raid in game, never mentioned it, anyway it's too late now...
In case we fail to gather enough people, we won't begin the actual raid.
