I'll definately be there. I have tonsilitus. Even if not enough people turn up, it would be great practise getting the debuffers in place so people can see the loop hole.

KNOW THE ENEMY

Each Mito has a PBAoE auto power and a targeted power, in addition to their standard “Resistance” and “Fly” powers.

• Yellow mitos have a 45 foot PBAoE damage/stun that activates every 4 seconds. Their targeted power is a 45 foot AoE damage/stun with 600 ft range. Each blast does approximately 500 points of untyped damage and the stun has enough mag to break through Scrapper toggles, hence the need for Clear Mind or Clarity casters tending to the scrapper teams. Yellows need to be melee’d due to high resistance to ranged attacks.

• Blue mitos have a 15 foot PBAoE fear/debuff power that activates every 2 seconds. Their targeted power is a single-target damage/mez with 300 ft range, 1.87 second cast time and 6 second recharge. Blues have a fear and endurance drain attack. They are also the source of the chain lightning you will see shooting from player to player. The chain lightning is little more than a tickle, but you will see orange numbers floating up from your fellow heroes. The Blue mitos make Dark Defenders with Shadowfall running very valuable to the assault teams for fear resistance. Blues must be attacked at range as they will drain the endurance of anyone in melee range.

• Green mitos have a 150 foot PBAoE damage/debuff power that activates every 6 seconds, but can only affect one target per activation; they also have a 70 foot PBAoE heal power that activates every 7 seconds, healing all allies within the radius for 321 HP. Their targeted power is a single-target heal for 1205 HP with a 300 ft range, 1.0 second cast time, and 5 second recharge. They have an additional self-affecting auto-power called “Regenerative Aura” that activates every 10 seconds and appears to grant capped regeneration (500% HP/ minute) and high resistance to damage; the effects of this power seem to have conditional statement attached to deactivate the effects while held. The base “Held” attribute protection for Boss_Mito class entities is -100. Greens have a -heal attack which will practically cancel out all healing in a few hits. This is the reason Tanks can not be kept alive by healing, they must be teleported out to recover while another Tank steps in. Greens also have a powerful force field that must be dropped by holding them prior to all out attacks. The weakness of the greens is they heal the closest damaged target first, so by assaulting the greens directly, they will focus on healing each other rather than healing yellows.

Hamidons’ AoE attack also has a –heal or –regen effect, which further complicates the Tanks job.

Mito Blooms/Spawns occur when Hamidon reaches 75%, 50% and 25% health. Each bloom only happens once at the specific percentages, so there are a total of 4 mito phases. When a bloom occurs the entire raid must make a speedy strategic withdrawal (run away screaming like little girls). A little tip on getting away faster, the goo provides all within it with Super Jump.

ALL TEAMS

• Each team leader will be invited to a private global channel one hour before the raid begin.

• Team leaders must explain to your team mates that if they have any question, must ask in team chat and not use any other means (like broadcast). This way we make sure of two things: 1) Everyone has someone to turn to in case that s/he don't know what to do, 2) Campers are excluded from the communication channels and thus from our raid.

• If a team leader isn't sure about something, s/he must use the private global channel to ask (avoid tells please), we don't expect everyone to memorize the plan but hopefully we will be able to solve any problems by communicating efficiently through this and if something does repeat a few times, will be less margin for error.

• Instruct your team mates that if they must not go close to tankers, to not aggro any yellow mitos and that if they need to run away to save their lives, they must NOT go close to the hidden debuff togglers, just run for the hills...

THE PHASES
Below "Phase 1" is the part where we place the debuff togglers, "Phase 2" the extermination of Green Mitos, "Phase 3" the extermination of Blue Mitos and "Phase 4" the extermination of the Hamidon.

TEAM 1

Phase 1
• Each Tanker is paired with an empath so s/he can be buffed accordingly.

• After signal is given, the tanker will go and draw aggro of a specific yellow mito until the debuff toggler is hidden behind a rock.

• Then he will scream for TP into safe place.

Phase 2, 3 & 4
• We decide in which order we send each tanker in as they can't go all at once and empaths begin to buff the first one that we will send in.

• That tanker begin taunting Hamidon and empaths begin to buff the next tanker.

• When tanker is completely debuffed for heals by Hamidon and begins to drain, the next tanker goes to continue the taunting work and the previous one is teleported by an empath so he can wait until the debuff gone and patched up.

• This is repeated non-stop to keep Hami aggroed.

TEAM 2

Phase 1
• Kinetics (if exist) buff all each of the debuff togglers then they choose one yellow mito for them and a tanker will assigned to help them place their buff.

• After signal is given, the tanker will go and draw aggro of a specific yellow mito until the debuff toggler done it's job of buffing it and go hides behind a rock.

Phase 2, 3 & 4
• Stay safe behind the rock.

• If for any reason your assigned mito freed for your debuff ask so everyone retreats in to safety away from the rest debuff togglers (that they must not move) so we can repeat Phase 1 only for the failed debuff.

TEAM 3

Phase 1
• Normally you wait in safety but in case TEAM 1 fails for some reason, we will work out a plan while you will work with TEAM 1 until Phase 1 is done.

• Meanwhile each scrapper pairs with one of the empaths to look after him/her.

• When Phase 2 begins, Clear Mind should be spammed on the scrappers as much as possible, and the empaths should Clear Mind each other occasionally.

Phase 2
• Team leader assigns a Green mito, empaths throw their RAs and everyone goes to attack it with extra careful not to touch any of the yellow mitos.

• This is repeated until all Green mitos are defeated.

Phase 3
• Team leader assigns a Blue mito, empaths throw their RAs and everyone goes to attack it with extra careful not to touch any of the yellow mitos.

• This is repeated until all Blue mitos are defeated. Expect special co-operation in that step from ranged attackers' of TEAM X because Blue mitos endo-drain any hero comes in melee range with them.

Phase 4
• Team leader gives signal and everyone begin attacking Hamidon until he spawns next round if mitos.

• Everyone must be reminded not go attack Yellow mitos and when new mitos are spawned, not to go near the debuff togglers.

• Repeat from Phase 2 until Hamidon is completely defeated.

TEAM X

Phase 1
• Normally you wait in safety but in case TEAM 1 fails for some reason, we will work out a plan while you will work with TEAM 1 until Phase 1 is done.

• Team leader will tell you who will be our target designator of the TEAM 2 so you will know what to target each time.

Phase 2, 3, 4
• Target designator of the TEAM 2 assigns a target, empaths of TEAM 2 throw their RAs (and if your team has any AoE buffers they do the same, so be sure that you're next to them) and everyone goes to attack the designated target with extra careful not to touch any of the yellow mitos.

• Controllers help will be invaluable during the Phase 2 as Green mitos shut down some of their attacks while holded.

• Ranged attackers' help will be invaluable during the Phase 3 as Blue mitos endo-drain any hero comes in melee range with them.

• This is repeated until Hamidon is defeated.

It is normal this plan to have holes as has never tested, feel free to correct/suggest anything.

15 mins or so left, excitement!
EDIT: no excitement left, we started at hamidon for 3 hours before becoming bored and deciding to jump to our death while screaming about sparta, fun times.

Posted

I had to quit as I have to get up early tomorrow and it doesn't look like I'd be able to stay to the end of the raid.

Best of luck guys, I hope the experience is educational and I hope you make it!

Plan didn't work as expected, although we managed to get more than half yellow mitos debuffed, took us so many tries that people bored to death and left.

Thank you all for been with us but I am not willing to retry organizing something like this in the near future, although I am willing to participate in organized tries from others.

Turn out wasn't great which didn't help and slow as you say Saxtus.

Would like to see what would happen if Hami was properly attacked from all directions at the same time (with appropriate buffage/debuffing).

Posted

I have to say that I had fun... but that could be because I was SBing anything with two legs, and the sparkling wine may have improved my mood as well

Posted

If all the tanks and everyone else run in at one, and draw the agro, the the debuffers can pop an EoE get their debuffs on and get behind their rock in seconds.

Shame this didn't happen though.

@Sweet Chilli

Posted

As I've said earlier, you was free to suggest changes to the above plan.
I believe now it's a bit late for that.

Posted

Reading the plan I thought phase 1 was going to happen at the same time.

Phase 1 should take less than 5 mins if everyone is ready, knows where they are going and what to do. Thats what makes teamspeak so helpful.

@Sweet Chilli

Shame it didn't get up to speed in the end. I would've liked to reach the combat phases just to get a sense of how tough the Mitos are.

I would be up for trying it again at a later date.

Teamspeak work only when all participants can understand what is spoken. As I've said, that was the main reason why Xanthus' try failed.

Please don't believe for a minute that everyone is from UK and their ears are "trained" to all types of pronunciations.

Hmm so tha Hamidon is still there?
Guys no giving up that THING is a problem, that we owe to the good folks of paragon city, to remove.
Shame
Next time i may have a guy in level range and the time to join. But i cannot promise it will help

Actually the Union raid he lead didn't really work because no-one could be bothered to turn up.

The Defiant one with TeamSpeak went smoothly.

True, I was also concerned about understanding on the Defiant raid but it was no problem. Pity i didn't have any toons in range when he arranged teh Union one, the one on Defiant was done in two and a half hours.

Then that's means that I am excluded from the raids as I couldn't understood his fast pronunciation. Nice discrimination...

Of course I can't do anything about it, my "divide and conquer" method failed but Xanthus' one with teamspeak, done successfully over Defiant. As I can't offer a successful "counter-method", I will shut up now and be sure that last Hamidon raid I've done was with Lost pre-I8 and will remain a beautiful memory...

Thank you Lost.

P.S.: At least I've tried...

Ehm this is kinda weird statement. Pronounciation is a barrier but written English with all the idioms and slang used is not?Its just the same thing and is not discriminating really.

Also this is really surprising too because Xanthus speaks with one of the more comprehensive and common accents to us foreigners compared to some other people (depending on which part of UK you are).

The problem starts with the people. If the debuffer cannot get in to put a toggle within 20 seconds that the tanks were distracting the mito then its time to start looking for some other debuffer.

Psht, Xanthus has a crappy Mic/PC/Connection but we had enough people to relay to get it done.

I'd rather people kept trying new things and failing raids than not do them at all, there probably is a better strategy for doing Hamidon - I just don't think anyone's found it yet.

The only reason I didn't come to this raid is because I was watchin' the Fireworks.

[/ QUOTE ]Before someone thinks that, let me let it clear: I am not blaming Xanthus at all, remember! I was there!

The problem might be the difficulty, the lack of heroes willing to try, their difficulty to follow simple instructions or all the above. Now if we use a global channel for that or teamspeak, I don't think that make a difference if orders fail to carry out or there are not enough people to execute them. I've just believe that teamspeak adds an extra barrier to the above already existent problems.
