I hope there is an update, I've been a subscriber since 2005, after unexpected change of credit card this year I neglected to update my billing and was unsubbed the end of July, thinking I could resub before next content release - now I've no VIP, no incarnate. I contacted NCSOFT support to see if I could resub for the remainder of the games life and was directed to the website (where obviously I cannot resub).
I'm still sticking with the game until the end, but I think it'd be nice if people could access all the content whilst the game is still up (and for those who subbed for longer some kind of refund must be in order - heck if they are tight for money, take the money from people like me wanting to sub for the remaining time!) -
Yea, I'd be up for it. last effort a few months back got really close, beat 2-3 blooms before things fizzled out (it was going a bit slow and some folk left before we could finish Hami off!)
-
Hmmm, it might be back up - getting a heap of "not responding"....
-
I can't get online either. I'm on the numina team too. Hopefully we can pick it up when the servers back up! Grrr!
-
Whilst on Positron TF I attempted to summon a temp pet - Warwolf. It failed.
Another member of team tried. It failed.
I see HVAS on the issue list - Is this a known issue with other temp pets too?
Edit: You can add Shivians to the above list, same 2 people tested - shivs don't summon.
Double Edit: Shivs summoned outside of mission after finishing Posi, didn't summon in mission during.... -
I'd guess the problem has nothing to do with the IP address you are pinging.
It times out for me and I am logged into the EU server as we speak.
Hopefully this won't sound patronising - but if you are running the EU version of the game the shortcut should point to the executable: CohUpdater.EU.exe
This thread has some hints on installing/setting up on the EU:

Thanks for the post, Saxtus!
Ive just checked it out the official website and noticed a problem with the Union Jack in the 7th picture... See if you can spot it.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's a common mistake really.
[/ QUOTE ]
And has (allegedly) been corrected on the latest version on Test Server.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh good, coz I was most vexed when I saw the offensive 'flag'. LOL
[/ QUOTE ]
Can someone point out what the problem is? It looks like a normal Union Jack flag to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well - the St Patrick's cross (the red X bit) should be offset slightly (or asymetrical) for each spoke rather than have the top and bottom half offset as in the picture each spoke (or quarter) should be offset. Of course when they fix that its possible some people might say they have it upside down (the correct way should look from left to right, red stripe at bottom on left and red stripe at top on right).
Wikipedia Article
For the record I am not a fan of the flag, but coming from the part of the world I do I hear far too much about it.... -
Well - its cleared up now:

Here is the gist of how this works, when players enter the leveling pact (level 5 and below) their experience is all flattened to whoever was the lowest. Any incoming experience to any member is effectively split by the member count of the pact (which we are limiting to 2 initially). From that point foward, all members will have the exact same experience and always be the exact same level. If player A logs out and lets player B do all the work, it will take player B twice as long.
[/ QUOTE ]
If thats how it works it'll be possible for 2 players to create 2 new characters each in 2 pacts and then log to the odd characters and get XP to 4 characters at once, but at half speed.
Sounds reasonably robust, but the proof will be in the pudding. -

Levelling Pact
So basically if I use my 40+, or 45+, to form a Pact with a level 1, would that level 1 will be spliting and hence gaining the exp at 40+? If it is so, that is not extreme sidekicking, that is extreme power levelling.
[/ QUOTE ]
Er... Positron said:
The Leveling Pact: A new innovation to MMOs, this groundbreaking system allows you and a buddy to create new characters and have your XP be permanently in sync, whether both characters are online or not. You will always be the same level, even if your buddy plays ten times more often than you do! Its sort of like Extreme Sidekicking.
Note the - You will "Always" be the same level. I assume you can only start when you are the same level, maybe its something you can only do at the character creation stage.... -

First of all - apologies if I caused any offense, I was writing in response to the many replies on the US forum
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought it a bit odd.. must admit that I didn't consider looking at the US forums on this yet. Even with pure speculation the signal to noise ratio is normally better in the EU...

Yea, to be honest - I read Positrons post and within 2-3 pages there was:

Oh, and you can now hire a chinese gold farmer to level you to 50 without you even needing to be online.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which I thought was a wild assumption. Followed up by sarcastic posts basically slagging off the dev team just sent me into my rant.
It's a good thing I can't post on the US forum!
It will be interesting to see how they implement this stuff, the customise your own bad guy for i14 sounds awesome tho. -

I assume the level pact means that you can only earn XP when your friend is online and then only at the same rate. I'd suggest you might have to be in the same team for this to work too.
The people crying about someone being power leveled to 50 without logging on is frankly stupid.
Common sense isn't as common as it used to be I guess.

Funny post. I laughed. I cried. I laughed again.
I believe that I may be the person you describe as 'crying about someone being power leveled to 50'.. I actually posed the question would it be possible..?
No crying involved.
The announcement about the Level Pact states have your XP be permanently in sync, whether both characters are online or not. You will always be the same level, even if your buddy plays ten times more often than you do!
So you do not need both characters online to take advantage of it. And my common sense seems to suggest that it wouldn't be implemented by penalising the player who can play more often...
So that seems to leave open the possibility of levelling a character whilst not playing them.
I know that common sense is anything but common. It would appear that comprehension isn't as widespread as I'd once hoped.
Good job that even though I'm 'frankly stupid' I'm still not stupid enough to get wound up by imbecillic trolls...

First of all - apologies if I caused any offense, I was writing in response to the many replies on the US forum rather than this thread. I guess my language was exceptionally harsh and probably way too provocative.
As for the "common sense", I'd think that in order to give a character not logged on more XP, they'd need to update that accounts details. Are they likely to do that when the person isn't online? What if hes online but on another character? What is that accounts subscription lapses? Are we going to see a system where someone creates a character then cancels their subscription, only to come back when they've automatically been leveled to 50?
I'd imagine that practical consideration has been put into the system before they built it. The thought of an account being modified or updated when not logged in seems an absurdity to me. Perhaps my viewpoint differs greatly from the norm - in which case I can only apologise.
I guess I'll wait and see how its implemented, I could well be totally wrong - thats not unheard of. In which case I have been profoundly stupid and guilty of jumping to conclusions.... -

And there was a raid tonight around 9pm - so I couldn't have been more wrong!
-
I'd have to say "nope". There does seem to be some arranged ad hoc, generally between 7-8pm weekdays, can be a little frustrating. I'm so close to that bomb badge now....
-
I have a BS/Regen and a DB/WP scrapper (50/46 respectively).
I love them both.
Broadsword does great burst damage, it really makes the most of crits. For single target work its great. When fighting higher levels/other players getting a single crit can make a difference. It has a few PBAoE/Cone attacks, but generally its not worth herding around you, just concentrate on the 1 big bad with Broadsword. Downsides - its slow, but steady damage, in large mobs you will need a hand. Some of the attacks do knockup/knockdown.
Dual Blades is pretty much steady DPS, combos add some spice to the proceedings, great against mobs due to variety of small cones and PBAoE + your combos. Jump inside a mob, mash them down. Downsides - crits make only a wee bit of difference, any lack of accuracy will kill your combos so its not really suited for PvP.
Broadsword - Burst damage, slow and steady, crits = love, single target perfection.
Dual Blades - Constant stream of damage, good in mobs, crits aren't noticed, but combo bonuses can be great. Needs accuracy.
I hope that helps a little! -
Very sorry that happened Blind - it was great teaming with you!
We managed to down Hami and finish the Taskforce (eventually down to 6!) Great effort from all involved - many thanks!
In case anyone reading the forums want to know - Lady Grey is still open to anyone 35+ as long as they are sidekicked.
Also we had a bug with a Rikti drone stuck in the door that required a GM, so this was one long lady grey!
Still - well done all - sorry you didn't get to finish it with us Blind, there really should be a warning before exiting RWZ makes you quit TF. -
Your brute will be more than fine!
That means we have a:
Brute/Controller/Def(Empath)/Scrapper
Plus hopefully a healthy mix from the Corps (Blasters will be nice for dmg).
Remember my global is @Bot-Eireann
-
Looks like there will be room. I think the controller might be best option at the mo
-
Sure - healer will go down well!
-
Congratulations to 2 members of the Power Corps who hit 50 over the last two nights - Enrian who did so last night and The Captain tonight!
Well done to both of you! First 50s for both, so look out for those Khleds! -
Dom will probably be best, I am assuming our planned tank shows though!
