SoR?
I'm gonna assume you mean a Soldier/Wolf Spider.
How's your slotting? What powers do you have?
I easily soloed myself to 24 with the following attack combo per group of enemies I face: Wide Area Web Grenade, Venom Grenade, Frag Grenade, Heavy Burst. Minions are now dead. Finish the Liutenant(s) with Burst, and Single Shot if necessary.
Do you have both TT: Maneuvers (with 3 def enhancements) and CT: Defensive? That alone should give you great survivability against ranged foes, and perma WAWG keeps anything from entering melee.
Oh and for the record, yes, at 24 it's like playing a whole different AT. Well, if you go Bane, that is. If you go Crab it's exactly the same playstyle as pre-24 soldier, only with a lot less suck and a TON more awesome ownage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the fast reply.
3 Slots in every power (Except frag grenade and super jump)
Defensive and resist damage + Endurance cost in secondary powers.
1 ACC 1 DAM and 1 ENDR RED in all attack powers (Except frag and Web grenade) 3 ACC in Web.
Yeah I've bassicly done all you've said in that build, yet I still suck, I'll just have to hold out for threat level 24 when I can just go Bane -
Hello, I've managed to (Painfully) get my SoR to level 20, I'm aware the light at the end of this damp [censored] poor excuse for a tunnel is finally almost at my face, but I've started to lose hope.
I jumped straight into a Mission by myself earlier only to find myself beaten down by a Arachnobot blaster and some other Minion, How exactly am I supposed to level (Apart from groups) when I can't even kill those 2 simple things?
Is there really a light at the end of this tunnel? -
Trading insps while on the same team as Hero/Vill would be nice aswell.

I've always been really into the whole War walls thing, It's one of the big major things you see as soon as you enter the game, yet there is such little lore around them.

And I have nothing more to say to you, You aren't much better then me when it comes to attacking people, I said "Pvp sucks" the other day in SBH, and you attacked me quite harshly, so I'll kindly ask you to remove yourself from my thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
I must admit I witnessed your "EA sucks" rant and your "PvP sucks" statement and they both struck me as rather inflammatory - whether ill-judged, or trying to bait others into an argument, I dont know you well enough to say. I said nothing both times because its not my job to police global channels, nor would it have helped the situation, plus I was teamed and busy. But I do think you may need to be more aware of how others perceive your "statements" - those two certainly coloured my perception of you negatively.
But I always try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, because text speak between strangers often raises ambiguities and misunderstandings that are too easy to jump on and criticise if you're in the wrong mood (or looking for an argument ). But firing off curt absolute statements of opinion as if they were fact is always going to wind someone up. Just try to imagine how you'd feel seeing someone say "PvP sucks" if you really loved PvP - perhaps try "I don't like PvP" instead.
Just last night when, after you described all non-S/L damage as "magic", you seemed to have another kneejerk snappy reaction when Biscuits tactfully pointed out that most people wouldn't see non-S/L damage as "magic" (there are 4 other origins, after all...) and might misunderstand what you meant.
Oh and telling people how to play their characters in front of other players, that never ever goes down well. Of course the other player(s) would get defensive, especially if they were all existing friends and you were the outsider. And especially if your criticism was based on not understanding how their character's powers actually work (like you didnt with Rage). If youve played their powersets to high level then sure, telling them how you use that power can be useful advice - even better by /tell (they feel less admonished, you dont open up your advice for team ridicule if youre wrong). But there are players, as inept as they might be, totally unwilling to hear advice (they always think they know best) - you cannot change a player like that into a good teammate with a few quick comments - pressing the point just creates animosity.
You also need to accept that not everyone plays to maximise efficiency - some players prefer to play casually - theyre not right/wrong and their playstyle is not better/worse than yours.
If a player is horribly ruining a team Im on then I send a /tell to the leader saying that Ill leave if they dont kick the problem player (or kick them myself if Im leader) - sure, thats not always an option on a TF, but on other teams if the leader wont kick them I just leave - Ive done that before, and cheekily even sent /tells to the good players on that team and poached them away for a new team I was forming and been thanked for itBut Im quite tolerant so players have to be pretty bad to evoke that response from me.
From what youve said the only things I can fault your ITF teammates for was not offering to invite you to their voice-com channel, or if they/you didnt want to do that then not using /team channel out of respect to the players without voice-coms. In that respect Im not surprised you felt like an outsider.
Other than that, while Im sure youre a good player and a decent person (I like to assume that of everyone I dont know until provided with evidence otherwise), from my own experience of your in-game communication on global channels Ive started forming the impression that you actively seek confrontation - your posts here have done nothing to dispel that. Im hoping that future posts/statements by you will be more positive and reverse my possibly ill-judged first impression of you.
This wasnt meant as an attack on you, simply as friendly advice that hopefully many people could benefit from - I apologise if you take it any other way.

I've given up with Shen, now he's just flat-out lying straight to my face, So I'm done.
These rants I go on about ingame (The EA sucks one makes my Blood boil because I've been scammed into there crappy buggy games more then once) And the PVP sucks one was only 2 sentances, and I actually proved my point by going to RV's Last night and I got killed by some Troller who then proceeded to gloat in Broadcast, You are right some players would see my statements as "offensive" or "aggressive" I'm not the best player myself at times (As I've said before in previous threads, conversations and teams)
I feel the diffrent text from "Pvp Sucks" and "I Don't like pvp" wouldn't of helped, I posted my reason straight afterwards and that reason was "I Don't enjoy pvp, mainly because most of the time It's some 13 year old kid that dropped out of school to perfect his l33t ub3r pvp skills and then gloats afterwards" (Note, that's not the *exact* line I posted at the time, but it's more or less got the same overall picture)
Last night when I typed that I was in abit of a hasty rush, I wasn't thinking to clearly about what I was typing and hit the first thing that came to my mind, I've known Biscuits for a short while not, if my typing seemed to of come off as "Horrid" or "Rude" then that wasn't the case, I didn't actually mean it to come off like that, I just couldn't see a better word for it.
I feel I should finally write out what went on in this ITF.
It started at around 1:00 and finished at about 4, as we went into the first Mission I had a feeling it couldn't go to well, we had 3 50's a 47 (Me) and several other Lackeys/Sidekicks, when the WP tank charged in all seemed to be going well, he died a few times but he's a WP tank, when I said "It's best not to use rage" (This was in whisper and then repeated over Skype my guess) I was told by the leader in team chat to "Not tell people how to play there class"
Later on and deeper in (Mission 2) we all started talking, and then some Blaster decided to hit on me (Sexually, you know teenagers because of my name etc? It doesn't actually bother me) I straight away told him I was a guy and then TOLD (not asked) That I'm a giant [censored].
Moving onto Mission 3, not much went on here, I was quiet for the entire time and said next to nothing.
Mission 4 is where I really started to get angry, We spent atleast 1 hour on Romulous because they refused to listen to me, after 30 mins of pure flat out wiping on Romulous I was 100% sure it had something to do with one of his Generals still being alive, He was hitting me for 1000+ (I turned 48 during mission 4) with Unstoppable on, so I was sure that this general was giving him a damage boost, 3 wipes later they still didn't listen to me, we got back to him when he had only half health and I refused to go in and die again, at this point I got told "[censored] you" "Go [censored] off then, retard" "ffs bunny are you always this annoying?" and my personal favorite "Way to go Bunny, you are so [censored] clueless" I finally convinced them to kill the last General and we got Romulous first try.
As for the Empath? I didn't really say what to do/How to play, I was just asking for buffs mostly.
I have skype installed and did say I had it installed and if they wanted me to join them, I had no reply to that question at all.
I'm not fussed if a player plays [censored] and is always AFK, What I do worry is when the player holds the entire team up for a lengthy amount of time because he didn't read the rage tool-tip (Note, I was still convinced at the time Rage did give a defense debuff) -

Actually, before that argument on Union Chat about EA games, I have never spoken to you before in my time on this game, so saying we have a background is complete rubbish.

And you have already stated to me and everyone else that has read this thread you are doing everything to ignore me in or out of game, so by saying this do you actually want me to talk to you in-game or not, because what you have said in regards to this is slightly contradicting and quite confusing. If you want me to apologise in-game I will and we can stop this pointless and tiresome argument, or you can stay as you are. I will say however that I am not totally at fault, and I'm not afraid to admit that. But are you? The ball is your court
[/ QUOTE ]
A few days ago you were all talking in SBH about PVP, I said "Pvp sucks" (Haven't we been over this all-ready?) and the first reply I got was "[censored] you Bunny, A lot of people like pvp so shut the [censored] up" (That was most of the message, there was more but I just blanked it out) At this point I said nothing and went quiet.
Then came the Union chat argument were I said the exact same thing back to you, because I was still annoyed.
And I STILL don't want to talk to you. -

I'm sorry, but judging solely from this thread when someone disagrees with you it's DRAMAH!, when you give other people your piece of mind, it's advice, when people give you their piece of mind it's aggression. I could be dead wrong here, but it sounds like monster double standards at work.

When other people give me a "Piece of there mind" when It's not filled with "[censored] you" "Your useless" "Brutes are tanks" That's called agression.
When I give people advice It's normally actually advice, and sometimes (Not all the time) It's good advice.
Me and Sham have a background, and now this thread has turned into "Let Sham and Bunny go at each other" So bassicly it's drama. -

Of which I have already apologised for, unlike yourself. And to be quite honest, its comments and an attitude like that which does spark animosity and provoke "attacks" as you put it. Saying PvP sucks is not the wisest thing you could do especially as a lot of this games fan base is PvP orientated. My advice if you so wish to take its (which i'm guessing as you adamant you are right, will not) is to not make comments such as "pvp sucks" and express it as "I do not enjoy pvp as it's not my thing".
I'm not going to apologise again to you. Do what you want, take it how you want, because now even though i've tried with you to wipe the slate clean as we got off to a very bad start, I just don't care.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not taking your apology because I don't want to talk to you, I've avoided talking to you in-game and everywhere else, if you want to make some Drama out of this then go ahead, I stated my reason for pvp after I said "Pvp sucks" anyway, but you had attacked me by then while I was still typing, and even after you still went on.
I'm done, if you want to cause some Drama then do it elsewhere.

Hello, Keeping this short.
I've had a quick troll around the Internet and I can't find any real lore on the War walls, does anyone know where I can find some?
Thanks. -
That made me feel like such a nerd for meeting my Girlfriend over IRC
...And I'm using IRC now -
Hello do you have a slot in your band of fellow good men for me?
-
I think it'd be nice, but you should be forced to level on Vill side if you want the Epic archetypes.
But ontop of that It'd be abit skew-if.
My level 50 Hero is Empath/Rad - Vills don't have Empathy -

So they might just have been making the occasional comment, or even saying nothing at all? You were just assuming they were talking about every last thing you did?
If you were uncomfortable with the situation the only real alternative would have been to drop out as soon as you found out everyone else was on voice chat you couldn't access. To join, stay in when you found out what the situation was then complain (initially with a "they were talking about be behind my back" slant) after the event is throwing blame their way that doesn't really seem warranted.

I do agree Standoff, but it was very late at night, I did think about leaving several times, but by then we were half way through and nobody could Lackey the other, so I stayed just for the sake of hopefully getting a good recipe and Exp. -
As I woke up this morning I did wonder to myself about this thread and what new ideas had popped up, I'm liking what I read, and I did have a very (Small) Idea.
As we all know Boomtown is prehaps the least used zone in the game (Or, I'm really sure it is) I was thinking that to use the zones layout more (Maps, textures etc) maybe adding a Taskforce there from Ourboros.
The Villains side would have to go back and aid the Rikti (I'm not 100% sure how this would work, maybe strike a deal with them) in destroying boomtown, and by destroying I mean really actually destroying, going around planting explosives in building to see them TOPPLE and FALL before you and your team, until you get to the Longbow HQ and attempt to free Reichsman. (http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Reichsman)
The Hero's side would be some-what the same, with the obvious changes that you would have to help defend Boomtown, the general story would be "Some Villains have exploited Ouroboros under Lord Recluse's command, if they should sucseed they will free Reichsman(http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Reichsman), and Recluse will offer him a proposition.
These heroes will of course have to be made up, The idea came across my head it could be a PVP Tf against hero/Vills, but that didn't seem like a wise idea, and still does not. -

Hey bunny - sounds like missing the group invite for your ITF the other night (with Viking Furnace) was a blessing in disguise!
I know exactly what you mean though - seems more and more people forget that we're playing a GAME. I've taken to playing solo or teaming with my SG; PuGs are just an exercise in frustration.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey Viking \o
No that ITF went fine after we went back to Normal difficulty instead of the one below max, after that we sailed on through and did it in about 1:40, the one I was in it took us 3 hours.
I do agree with the whole PUG's are getting useless thing, I tend to be in small SG's with not that many active people my level, so I take to just Lk'ing some lower levels to help them out a little, the ones I've met (Aside from one who was just talking to me because he thought I was a woman) are actually pretty nice, I was teamed with this nice Roleplayer last night till about 3-4 in the morning, Really nice guy and a good player.
And I will be truthful, I can acept players not playing as good as they should be, but when they are risking the lives of the other 7 players, then I get somewhat annoyed, In the past I've been a perfectionst when it comes to teams, now I'm trying to break away from that but each time I do something seems to draw me back saying "HELP THESE PEOPLE, THEY AREN'T SMART" -

Mother, you've been mind reading me again?
I was thinking more or less the exact same sort of Task force, instead of recipes or anything else you have a choice between perm changes to your toon.
For example, you can only pick 1 and you can only pick it 10 times and can only change it once.
Healing increased by 1% (have to do the task force each time and are given 1% in the power or recipe afterwards, your choice)
Defense by 1%.
Damage 1%.
Etc etc.
