    Teen Wolf

I refuse to add Mtv back into my channel lineup on moral grounds. Until they stop spewing toxic waste like Jersey Shore and Teen Moms and driving us quicker into a state of Idiocracy I will not give them any ratings.

Not that it matters, being the old fogey I am doesn't make me in the age demo these days.

Great, now I'm hearing the voice of SARA from Eureka coming from the forums...

    Happy yesterday!
  4. I might be wrong but it was my understanding that any returning vet would have the ability to unlock MM's and controllers when they return. They are locked from Freebers only. Premiums can select them as one of their limited amount.

So if you played a MM up to 50 3 years ago and quit. When you come back you can pick that MM as one of the ones to unlock and there ya go.

If they just gave all returning Vets everything they had as a Subscriber by default then there would actually be little to NO incentive at all for them to resub. Why bother subscribing monthly when they have access to everything they had and can just spend 5 or 10 here and there at the store for new items?

From a 'wanting to intice former players back into subscribing' angle you have to lock stuff away, preferably the most attractive new stuff. This way they want to participate and are encouraged by us and the game to become ViP.

You say it's a horrible deal for returning players to not have everything they'd had before. I say giving them everything for free would actually be a horrible deal for us ViP's that want more subs. Two sides of the coin and all.

Then don't cancel your subscription. No need for burnt breakfast. Don't look at it as a penalty, look at it as a perk. After all that's what it is in reality.

    Bad news

It's times like this that I really wish I actually had my Empath powers...

So sorry to hear this news. Spend as much time together as you can, we'll still be here when your ready to return.
  8. It would also be nice if you'd post your personal best times on the toon before hand.
  9. Has me curious if the new Rocket Board is secretly travel power custumization in disguise. As an alternate animation for SuperSpeed.

If so, that makes me hopeful I'll one day get to fly around on a disc ala Static!
  10. Hey look at that! They call us a 'Huge' mmo right on the cover.
  11. Enriche makes me think of Brawndo: The thirst mutilator.

It has what plants crave, ya know.

As for a mascot, I vote for a tiny Lusca. Make her purple or blue.
  12. "In other news today, the Circle of Thorns have just become the single most powerful group in history as they defeated the entire Praetorian army alone. We asked a prominant member of the group for comment."

"Mr. Death Mage, can I call you Mage? So how is it the CoT were able to gain enough power to knock out every hero in the city as well as the Praetorians? Magic spell, new charm you found? Demonic assist? The World must know!"

"Well Kent it was shockingly simple actually. I'm sure you are familiar with our standard uniforms? Well, last week one of our initiates was goofing off and used a simple spell that tramsformed all our uniforms into bathing suits. What started as a laugh became much more when Oranbega was attacked by a group of Heroes. Upon seeing the various demons dressed in drag with tiny bikinis the Heroes froze in place, Using all the strength they had not to laugh. When I turned the corner in my shiny blue speedo well... Lets say not even the stongest among them could hold back the tears and laughter. Seeing this as an oppurntunity we changed the group uniform and began our conquest!
Apparently seeing full grown mystics in skimpy outfits is so hilarious no superpower in the universe can resist laughing or being immoblized with horror. I tell ya, best dang mez we've ever discovered!"
  13. Me want hoverboard NAO!! I gives moneies...

Staffs too???!!! Okay, someone wake me when this hits live.

I suspect the only way that would ever actually happen is if they got a metric ton of freebers turing ViP and citing such and such AE farm arc as the reason why. It's only shunned until it turns into a cash cow. Personally I lost a great deal of friends to the bAEbies in the initial feeding frenzy after it launched so I still have a love/hate relationship with the system.
  15. Stick with it. It gets better.

Around level 41 on my Energy/Energy I was stoked to finally be getting my Epic powers unlocked. Then, like you said, it seemed to come out of the blue (was my 1st time at that level) Every group just became really... Tricky.

During this period my Blaster morphed into a silent assasin. I respecced into SS to use in combo with Stealth and started 'Ghosting' most missions. Ultimately turning into a boss killer. 10 levels later that would become what he's most memorable for. No other toon I have can take out bosses as fast, not even my Brutes and MM's.

It was around level 44 I realized the initial hardships when dealing with certain high level mobs began to vanish. I recalled how it was the 1st time this toon came up against a Tsoo Sorceror and chalked it up to par for the course. Now that I had a decent hold in my arsenal thanks to the Anc pool I was actively hunting down Paragon Protectors (for payback and the badge) in Eden for months!! Was tons of fun. They never stood a chance.
I'd just stand right beside them for a bit, before hitting Aim+BU and Bonesmash quickly followed by TF. 9 times out of 10 they'd be stunned and on the floor shortly after! Few times the stun would miss I'd overwhelm them with blasts before they could pop the shield.

Only one's I still struggle with would be the Elude users. They seem to always get it off at the last possible second. Still it's simple enough to either SS off and flank them to wait it out with insps.

In other words, stick with it! Level 40 through 50 is the period of refinement for all AT's.

As for Nemesis using PFF. I generally just pause and use a mocking emote like /e Teabag while I wait for him to pop back out. They're usually down before the staff is fully pulled as it was their mistake to let my BU recharge afterall. ;p

Never done a trial but my SG used to regularly host No Pants TF's that required 'dressing down' and of course the summer months bring swimming parties that require a change of costume etc etc...

Does say just how much attention AE gets from the devs, though. "Hey, here's this great, unique to our game, revolutionary new system! We're going to introduce it,t hen... um... yeah, I don't know, let it sit or something."
I think a bit of this is due to the firestorm that erupted in AE's wake. A revolutionary system they'd spent months on and within hours of it hitting live the servers were abuzz with bAEbies. The resulting nerfs and negativity surrounding it just soured the Dev's on the whole system. Unable to figure out how to reward the proper arcs while limiting the farms combined with the bugs cropping up and there ya go.

Say what you want about her forum rep but when she's ingame the term I hear most often would be 'Git R done'. She produces results while keeping everyone happy and involved. Just sayin' rumors are bad.
  19. Was there ever a reason given as why exactly it's taking so long for Scrappers to get Super Strength?

To be arguably the most recognizable superpower yet only let 1 hero AT have access to it has always confused me. Really confused me.

The 2nd toon I ever made right after my Blaster was a SS/Inv Tank. Needless to say he got shelved quicker than any other toon I've made. The significant lack of damage on that AT makes SS feel like wet noodle punches.

I was always told that giving SS to Scrappers was simply out of the question because it'd be so overpowered that the nerfs to it would create more trouble than it's worth in the long run...

I settled for rolling up a SS/WP Brute and bringing him Blueside but I'd much rather have a Scrapper!
  20. I stopped reading at number 10 when I realized the writer of the article hadn't actually watched these shows...

"and his only companion was the holographic representation of a computer back home that only he could see."

Al was not a holographic representation of Ziggy... Sam used his brain wave pattern along with Al's when he created the super computer known as Ziggy. This allowed Ziggy to transmit Al's conciousness directly to whatever time period Sam's conciousness occupied. Al remained in the facility in the future the entire time and was only visible to Sam due to a direct mindlink. He appeared holographic as a result (having things pass thru him etc) but isn't what we consider a hologram like the Doctor from Voyager. A better analogy would be 'imaginary friend'

That said, certain scenes on the show contradict this by having Al see or hear things when Sam isn't anywhere around.

I've always been a fan of Leap. Word from Scott Bakula is the creator is currently writing the script for a movie. I say it's about time they brought Sam home!

Edit to add: Yeah time travel alone doesn't make it Sci-Fi. If that was the case you'd have to include show's like Felicity as Sci-Fi.
  21. Is this for a static team as well or just looking for 'core' members of a SG?

I have a toon named Mr. Mystical that could fit the bill for Magical Hero.
He's actually lost in time as well, having been transported from the Victorian era to our time about a year ago. He's fun to RP as I've long been a fan of the original Sherlock Holmes stories as well as him just learning the extent of his powers. I think he's sitting at level 4 so I can reroll if needed.

I'll send an Email in game as requested!
  22. This Fall is going to be sweet!!!

I'm hoping I can tint my new Dark/Dark Blaster's powers to look like Steam being rapidly discharged. To go with a Steampunk theme I've been sitting on! If not, or the skulls end up breaking it I'm sure I can come up with some (or 10) kind of concept!

Gidgettiy! I was so excited over getting a new Blaster that I missed the other notes, I can finally create a Thermal/Fire Defender too?!!? Oh my!! Is it Fall yet??
