I highly suggest running the arc solo for your first time through. It can be tricky on some AT's but it's worth it to get the full ambience of the story.
I was very impressed with the 1st offering. Can't wait til it starts to ramp up! -
I see no problem with this. It would prevent Store related threads from clogging up the general and player question sections.
-
Well, he has been playing since Beta.
City of Heroes: Freedom Beta that is. :P -
I'm just curious why the slow roll out. Is that required or just a safety precaution?
-
In Z's defense, I've been playing since Issue 4 and it was just 2 weeks ago that I found out I could be a male 'Widow'.
I'd just never bothered with VEAT's before then and well, all the Widows and Fortunata's I've run across have been female... -

Thank you as always VK! Only one thing jumped out at me as being 'Scary'.
"There will be some changes to the forums made, including a revamp of the forum rules which will be posted ahead of time for community criticism and discussion."
I really don't know what else they could clamp down on. Hopefully all this alludes to is consolidation of lesser used subsections and maybe even a reversal on the no games ever ban. -
Quote:Indeed. Seems to get worse with each new 'issue'.Good lord. The level of entitlement this player base has developed sickens me.
As far as the EU players demanding downtime during NA prime, stop being silly. I'm dead serious. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but I'm tired of that specific QQing.
Get. Over. It.
If it was your business, your livelyhood, your paycheck... Which would you choose;
Upseting 10 people and keeping 1000 happy, or upseting 1000's just to please 10? Duh! It's nothing personal, just good business practice.
Look, I live in the NA but I work graveyard. 7am central for me is 11pm (mytime). Not only does this 12 hour downtime just happen to occur on my off day, but it was quite likely the only chance I'll have to play the rest of the month. I was really looking forward to getting on in a few hours when I get off...
Yeah it sucks, yeah I wish it didn't have to happen, yeah I understand it's been happening quite a lot lately. Just detach the emotional investment and look at things a bit clearer please. Save us all the grief.
Look at CoH as a 10 year old car. You're still making payments to the bank for it, but the thing has got some miles on it so... ends up in the shop for days on end every other month. You don't get to stop paying the bank because it's broken down. You don't get a few days credit from the bank or dealership. You deal with it or buy a new car. Crying about it does nothing but lump you into the entitlement group, warranted or not. If you can't handle all the maintenance perhaps you should just buy a new car. -
I seem to recall his Sig stating he was a 50+ year old man that was new to PC games and the internet in general and asking to cut him some slack...
That's why I always looked at his Rage as being more... 'Get off mah lawn' instead of the more youth oriented 'NerdRage' type.
Though I guess technically, we're all nerds cause we play this game. Quite frankly no matter who you are/what you look like. If you tell someone about the SuperHero game you play... Yeah, they gonna be thinking "How nerdy" -
I kind of ruined myself for the other AT's by starting out with Blasters...
Nothing else compares to the rush of living on the edge. So much power at your command, yet if used without caution, you'll be paste. I like the active playstyle of Blasters, using tactics, utilizing LoS, soloing Blasters takes strategy.
Much more rewarding than turning on your toggles and mindlessly clicking attacks, to me at least.
I went with Arch/Mental for that extra bit of AoE goodness!
Though, my favorite Blaster for dealing out massive carnage would be
Fire/Ice - You get the wonderful AoE's of Fire with the added mitigation from Ice Patch and Shiver. Properly slotted shiver will keep Bosses from moving faster than a snail, easy pickings! -
Quote:Quick, get this man some empathy stat! >_<Unless they took it on Infinity, no one stole anything. Names were not reserved on Exalted.
You are not a unique and special snowflake where you "own" a specific combination of 26 letters, 10 numbers, and 3-4 special characters. There were several names I wanted, but didn't get. I didn't cry they were "stolen" from me, I just grabbed a straw, sucked it up, and tried a different one. And as a result, I have ~24 lvl 1 Science Arch/Dev Blasters in black leotards sitting on Exalted, squatting on names I think are cool/interesting/neat/preparation from future powersets, because I'd "like" to have a character with that name. I've done the same thing on other servers with sweet names I just don't have time/appropriate character idea for yet.
Frankly, whoever grabbed it, I applaud you. You played the game according to the game's rules.
And while I realize I'm fueling it, by posting in the thread, especially at this late date... Get over yourself, Belle. You ain't special.
Stay classy Bro... -
Egads! If the 4x merits is able to be collected every 10 minutes...
-
Wowsers...
Just flashed back to being 10 again. Hadn't heard that in ages. Pretty epic stuff for 1990. -
I've seen a female Santa once...
A male Becky as well. -
Ninja/Thermal has been the only time I've found the ninja's to be worth it. That and chaning my tactics a bit to not us BG, keeping them in passive unless ganging up on my selected target. I keep them on a short leash, and the thermal heals pick up the slack.
Been considering a Merc/Time but I may look at Ninja/Time now. -
Doing CEBR on a lowbie Fire/Fire Blaster proved to be very... exhilarating! Required liberal use of Inspirations of course, but once you start rolling it's edge of your seat excitement! Deaths are a plenty but the spectacle of it all more than makes up for the quick hop back, besides it gives you a chance to reset and stock back up.
Also tried on my WS. Using Insp's to get Mire off, Nova makes really quick work of the spawns. I was only 14 so no double mires for me, but didn't really matter. But for some odd reason, the blaster lasted longer than the WS. Once my insps wore off I'd go down really quick, were as the blaster could keep AoEing and usually manage to pull off some last minute luck insp saves. -
Indeed. Sayain's appear to be fair game, Just avoid naming him something like XXGokuXX and you should be okay. Just to be safe though, I'd avoid having anything in the bio that could be considered ™.

Quote:This, I'll pick up the new Tier 5 powers on new toons that it feels appropriate for, I'm not going to bother respeccing into them though. Unless I just really fall in love with one.I've more or less decided that I might try Afterburner on a future character but I just don't see its benefit being great enough to justify trying to "reverse-engineer" it back into one of my long established characters. To me it's an interesting option - not a "must have" thing.

Personally I'd wait for Street Justice.
In the show, Roshi never really trains them in martial arts. Goku even advises against it to Ubb, saying that a true fighter just goes with the flow, or instinct, in a fight. Less about the actual moves and more about the end result etc.
If you really want to get started now though, MA, with some various alt animations could work pretty well. If you go Scrapper you can choose the Energy Epic and get Torrent, that could represent the Kamehameha.
As much as I love Blasters, for this you'd really want something durable. Brutes and Scrappers would be where I'd focus. For me I'd probably go with;
Street Justice/Invulnerable Scrapper. Invulnerable can easily be made to look like your SSJ aura. -
Someone suave and sophisticated. Maybe James Bond like. Able to get down and dirty but prefers to be civil.
Assigned to some world altering event but gets there a day late.
Which then puts me, James Bond, right smack at Ground Zero for the Zombie Apocalypse!
We'd fast forward a few months to me, James Bond, now the ultimate survivor, using my super vehicles and gadgets to rescue stranded refugees.
End of the movie has me leading my small army of Humans against the Alien menace that secretly launched this 'Virus' as an effcient 'Broom' to sweep away our species while leaving our tech in place. -

Beam seems to work better for Corruptors so far. With being able to leverage Disintegrate easier and all. For mainly soloing I'd look at possibly rolling a Beam/Poison.
