Things I want but know can/will never happen;
I want a true Giant Monster, ala Godzilla. Something that towers over the skyscrapers in Talo's.
I want to fight Rularuu.
I want to be able to grapple.
I want to be able to dodge projectiles. -
Quote:While I'd love to have that ability, it will never happen for one reason.Seriously..we need a command to be able to tell pets to attack at range or melee, and HOLD that stance.
Balance.
Pet AI wonkiness is part of the equation for MM's. Giving us that level of control would break the game. Sadly, it's not a bug, it's WAI. -
The Dev's have bluntly stated that Statesman is going to stay dead, no rezzing in his future.
The Dev's have remained silent about Sister's true fate.
Things that make you go hmmm.... -
What is this... I don't even...
In all my years of playing, I have never given a single thought to how much any of my toons weigh. I take it you're a very technically oriented person but trust me, you'd be in the minority for appreciating the dev time spent on this. If the only reason you want it is to help with RP..
I just can't understand how it would assist you really. I mean, if you put in your bio that the guy weighs 2 tons, even if he's the size of a kid, I'd just assume he's denser than normal.
Do you mind elaborating on how this would help your RP? -
Since you aren't looking for an answer, how about an anecdote?
I named my thread 'Blasters and the modern CoH' because I thought it sounded and fit better than 'Blasters roll in the future of CoX'.
I'd never really heard 'Modern' used all that much really, I thought about using 'Current' but that describes the present when I wanted to discuss the future.
*Shrugs* -
My attachment to Marcus is due mainly to reading the novels, Web of Arachno's and The Freedom Phalanx...
Never really got a feel for the guy ingame. -
Don't feel bad, would've caught me too if I hadn't posted in it way back when. I was reading the thread, thinking it was current and then I noticed my avatar and was thankful I'd been one of the first responses. Saved me a lot of reading.
-
MisterD, you realize you're replying to someone that hasn't even posted since 2009 right?
-
They've always been upfront that it wouldn't be included with Issue 22's launch.
I figured it'd be released a week later though, not held back for another month... -
This mirrors my experience a great deal.
Knowing going in, I didn't think it'd really have an impact on me either...
Such is my history with this game. I'd been sitting at 43 literal points from 50 on my namesake scrapper for years, for no real reason other than not wanting to be 'done' with him.
When it came time to run the arc I was dismayed to find the toon I'd planned on using was to low level, so on a lark I opted to run the scrapper.
That cutscene...
Wow.
I'm man enough to admit it had my eyes tearing up as the cutscene ended.
I leaped at the ruins with SJ and in a flash I was on him, cursing him in local though I was alone in the mission.
Being /Regen, I had no problems with him or the following boss, yet it still felt Epic.
I also have a picture with my scrapper kneeling in the rain, with the grief emote, and then raising his fists swearing vengeance.
His background has had him struggling with his inner demons all these years, never sure if he was truly a 'Hero' or not. As he exited the mission I ceremoniously turned XP back on and arrested the 1st baddie I saw.
After witnessing the death of a legend, after the surge of emotions he never knew he had gave him the power to stalemate a God, a new Hero was born!
It was the perfect completion for his personal arc, better than I could've ever planned.

What the F...
Those are all really cool, why reject them? -
Customer: "Yes I'm calling about the product I ordered, it's complete and ready right?"
Company: "Yes sir!"
Customer: "And you shipped it next day air, to arrive with my other items right?"
Company: "Oh, no sir, we shipped it on a small dingy that'll have to go all the way around the cape of South America first. We figured the delay would give you more time to enjoy the other items you ordered. Thereby increasing your 'future' enjoyment of the other item when it does arrive."
Customer: "But me wants Staff Nao!"

Bah...
I knew Staff Fighting wasn't included with Issue 22 but I was still hoping for it to be released the following week.
I was so hoping to roll my new Staff fighter in the wave of new toons being made during DxP... Drats.
With no interest in the other offerings, aside from a passing glance in DA...
Meh. Wake me when Staff finally comes to market. -
Indeed. I've often wished for gloves that were designed solely to be clawed hands. They could be worn by anyone.
Giving the option of no weapon, and using those gloves would work for the concepts. -
Wow...
I still picture him being perpetually youthful. -
Welcome back!
The writing and mission design really took a leap forward for me starting with the
Keith Nance/Jenny Adair arcs. Thankfully, they haven't stopped delivering the goods since then. -
I thought Archery had increased recharge as it's secondary effect...
Always thought AR had increased accuracy built in as well...
Makes me curious why I thought such things. -
Okay.
What does that prove though? Other than you being right?
Ramming the point home that "Nothing has ever been changed simply because it was annoying" serves no purpose other than distracting from the real issues.
I say again. Let it go. Insisting on being proven right at this point, is pointless. Lets get back to discussing the real issues please. -
Perhaps we're missing the point because you insist on skewing it.
I fail to see why you're so hung up on this one phrase 'Not worth taking' as if thats the only point being raised. It isn't, except by you...
Let it go. It isn't the cruz of the issue, it's a side consideration in the grand scheme. Bringing it up repeatedly serves no purpose other than spreading misinformation and making the meat of the topic that much harder to get to. -
Count me in the 'Not really a fan' camp.
Never been one for that style of humor. Then again, I never saw the appeal of toilet humor either. -
I'm in the same camp when it comes to Nukes.
As my main and still favorite after all these years is Energy/Energy, I've always viewed Nova as the ultimate in desperation by my character.
Pulling forth all his power to unleash a tremendous burst of Energy should thematically leave you winded/drained. This makes sense.
What doesn't make sense is that, after summoning all my power into this ultimate blast, I'm left helpless as the numerous minions and Lts with slivers of health plink me to death.
Crashing Nukes can stay, just make them true Nukes again. -
I wouldn't be oppossed to being able to claim 2 or 3 SuperPacks for one of the many transfers sitting unused...
