    Traps

How about Detonator as a long recharge St hold that turns your held target into a ticking time bomb? Like a Sticky Mine.

Maybe replace Tripmine with an Oil Slick mine.
  2. Maybe a Recharge Fulcrum shift? Steal a minute from each of your enemies, so to speak. More enemies, more +recharge you can steal.

Maybe the Doppleganger stuff is simply a +def effect where there's multiple false copies of you that wink out if attacked. Like a displacer beast!
  3. Rad already has some toggles that simulate a level shift. Kinetics can +recharge/+speed. Empathy can accelerate healing and recovery. Numerous sets can slow. So what do we get with Time Manipulation that would be unique?
  4. I kinda have fun with all of them.

My Claws/Willpower gets a lot of playtime. The Steampunk pack drove me to rediscover my BS/Shield. I recently dusted off my old Spines/DA and rekindled some interested in her. The only one that really hasn't gotten much love is my Katana/Elec, but I love his look and concept.
  5. So, I have a number of scrapper builds fast approaching 50, if not already there, and I was curious which one would really shine the most with Incarnate powers. Which one you fine people think I should focus on:

    Claws/Willpower
    Spines/Dark Armor
    Broadsword/Shield
    Kinetic Melee/Shield
    Katana/Electric
    Dark Melee/Shield

I pretty satisfied with all of their costumes/concepts/etc. I pretty much exclusively team, mostly PuGs and TFs. No PvP. My favorite scrapper turn-on is surviving a team wipe and avenging my fallen comrades.

    Thanks for any feedback!

    Elec/Rad builds?

I took my Elec/Rad redside long enough to do the Patron archs to get Power Sink from Mu Mastery. WOW. It really makes the combo shine, and makes sapping a viable means of control. I may have to do the same with my Elec/Cold, but we'll see how Power Boost works out first.

Otherwise, Elec/Rad is a pretty solid combo. not much damage, but you can sap, debuff and let Choking Cloud lockdown a mob without breaking Sleep.
  7. A Rob Liefeld booster pack... Wouldn't that just add another 100% on to all the body sliders so you could make that barrel chested, tiny-headed, too many gun-toting, skinny-waisted, bowling ball-smuggling, ballerina-footed monstrosity you've always dreamed of?

I'd almost rather see a 1950's retro B-movie booster pack, with classic "discombobulator" blasters, old Flash Gordon style jet packs, astronaut "bubble helmets", lots of kooky alien skins and heads, Jacob's ladder antennae, Tesla coils, Cadillac fins, beehive hairdos, antigravity belts, etc etc etc...
  8. Big hair
    Shoulder pads
    Leg warmers
    Hi-tops with fat laces
    the Thriller jacket
    Flux Capacitor chest detail
    Blazing Swords

eh. sounds cute, but I'm not sold. There are a lot of other booster packs I'd rather see before an "I Love the 80s" pack of gaudy crap.
  9. Another vote for proliferation, Uncle Steves and all.

    Scrapper Envy?

    I've got a Fire/Rad/Psi Controller and a Fire/Fire/Fire blaster I've been running trials on.

While the blaster does bring alot of DPS to the table, she is truly a glass cannon, and can't take quit as good as she dishes out. The warehouse phase is a nightmare for her. The escapee phase is okay, thanks to Rain of Fire and Bonfire. Otherwise she is just a straight Orange Number Generator.

The controller is a nice Jack of All Trades. She can run solo in the warehouses, solo the Add spawns, probably solo a choke point (okay, maybe the North one), nuke the dead, rez the dead, and heal for good measure (got my last healing badge on a BAF!) She doesn't bring nearly the DPS as the blaster does, but if you factor in the -regen, she probably nets out higher on long fights.

What I find rare on the trials are really good tanks. I've seen a few that can lead NS and Siege around by the nose, stack them right on top of each other, even with early bird attackers. The bad ones seem to think they are scrappers and care nothing for aggro management.
  11. Weirdest team convo I ever had was when a controller on our team was in labor. With a baby. While she was playing!

She was pretty mellow about it- this wasn't her first "alt", so to speak, and she knew if she went to the hospital with her contraction so far apart, they would probably just tell her to come back later. If she was lying, it was a virtuoso performance of subtle understatement. If we weren't constantly barraging her with questions, we might not have heard much about it.

Having seen my wife go through the process, I know labor can start pretty slow, and it can take hours and hours to get to the point doctors and a hospital need to be involved, but JEEEESH!
  12. Does the LFG Queue work on your server?
I got it to work once when i20 first dropped, but never since.

Are you able to use it?
I am able to click on it. That's about it.

Do the average start times bear any resemblance to reality?
No, but I spend much of my time traveling close to light speed. :-/

Do trial teams formed with the queue ever succeed?
The only one I ever did failed, but that was way back in the beginning, when we had no clue what we were doing.

    On Virtue, for the record.
  13. Ageless is such a quick fix, tho', you can bounce right back from the crash. Nuke, then Ageless right away. Your end bar will look like a slide whistle!
  14. This thread needs to come back from the dead!

    Here's my reckless speculation:
The Omega slot with require a t4 from EVERY previous Incarnate slot, which, if my advanced calculations are correct, is 36 Tier 4 powers. And yes, you lose them when you craft the Omega. In return, you get:

    The Purple Triangles of Doom.

Your own personal cutscene. Designed in AE, usable in any instanced mission once every 48 hours.

Your own personal chest insignia, designed and uploaded by you.

A Fear Aura that effects anything -9 or lower.

A Statue of your character, somewhere in Paragon City (heroes/vigilantes) or Rogue Isles (villain/rogue) You chose the pose, but not the location. Sure you could get Atlas park. Or the bottom of a pit in the Hollows.

Ultimate Moment of Unbridled Epic Awesomeness. Think Superman VS Doomsday. A suicide attack that will defeat 1 enemy target, regardless of resistances, phase shifting or blah blah blah. It will take out Hamidon, or Lord Recluse, or Reichsman, or a Skull on the street corner. Downside is, you get NO rewards for the defeat, and you character is unplayable for 7 days, as they claw their way back from Hell.
  15. The day after the patch, my Fire/Rad troller ran 4 trials, got 2 rares and 2 VRs. Needless to say, that warped my expectations. My Fire/Fire/Fire blaster has run about 30 trials since the patch, and only gotten 1 VR.

Conversely, my blaster is MUCH luckier at purp drops. 4 or 5 over the past year, while my troller has never gotten any.

Yeah, its hard not to visualize patterns in all this. Not saying there IS one, but I definitely agree that we, as humans, are hard-wired to distill meaning and form from meaninglessness and formlessness.

Makes you wonder where else in life we think we see patterns and meanings where they don't exist.
  16. Hard to say without knowing what powers you picked. Did you take Choking Cloud? Fallout? EMP? Lingering Rad?

Also, what's your play style? i tend to me a reckless melee sapper with my Elec/Rad.

Yeah, right smack in the hour or two I actually get to play.

i have my chat window parsed between team/League/Local, SG/Coalition and Globals, so when Admin text pops up, it pops up three times

    Totally trying that tonight. Thanks!
  18. Seriously, tho. I appreciate the powers that be taking a more active, friendly part in our collective community, but maybe big fat blocks of red text barking out the Phil Rizzutto play by plays is not the way to do it. Had it been anyone else blabbing out walls of text like that in global channels, I would have blacklisted them in a heartbeat.
  19. The trials were tough for me too on my Fire/Rad. Stick with it. The new Incarnate powers and level shifts will certainly help, and just learning the vibe and rhythm of the Trials will get you up to speed.

That first week or so, I think I spent more time waiting for the damn hospital doors to open that actually participating in the trial
And even now, with T4s in all but one slot, i still get cut down once in a while. I like to play on the front line, right in melee with my Frad, and that can be a rough place to be around a bunch of level 54 Victorias.
  20. Wow. What a... strange thread this is. I'm not even completely sure what you people are arguing about.

Is this supposed to be a plea to the devs to let Ill/Rads shine more on the BAF escapee phase, or a call for awareness to the CoX community at large, that Ill/Rads won't be rocking socks as usual during the escapee phase?

If its the former, well, get over it.

If its the latter, see above.

Let me share with you my one nugget of insight from the escapee phase; unless you are grossly out of position or warming the pavement, no one really notices what you're doing.

The escapee phase is a hectic 5 minutes, and most, if not all players are scrambling to dish out everything they can. No one has the time to observe you in action and take notes on how effective or ineffective you are.

Do what you can. Buff your teammates. Take out the runners. 1/20 is just as good as 19/20, and you really have to pooch it something serious to let all 20 out.
  21. OP, is there a particular mission/TF/enemy that is really putting you through the ringer? I know my Fire/Rad had a lot of trouble on the Incarnate trials at first and ate quite a bit of floor. I know if I get sloppy, I get dead real fast. If I stay sharp and take the time to set those debuff toggles, I'm back to godlike status.
  22. This one has come up again and again in the Suggestions forum. I know many people consider Grav control good enough/close enough to be time control, but frankly, its not.

I'd like to see a time control pet that is just a younger/lower level YOU. Say, fights as -1 with powers you had at -10, with no set bonuses or procs. Every time you log out, you are really popping forwadr into the future to help out the future you.
  23. With my Fire/Rad troller I used to use a combo of a Stealth proc and Smoke to slip past mobs. Now, with a couple level shifts under my belt, I usually just steamroll, if I find myself all alone. I don't take out many glowies, but I do clear a path for others coming back from the hosp and earn the team some nice xp.
  24. You can autocomplete much of those villain archs, too. I autocompleted all but the last mission on Siroccocococco, mostly because finding a team red side is such a chore, and I am very very lazy
