Small point but the base raid telepad should only be required for raiding bases.

    [/ QUOTE ]

why? because it has the word "Raid" in it? what if it was instead called the Advanced Telepad? what if part of the suggestion was to rename it to aid in the roleplay?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because its a big clunky ugly thing with costs (size being the biggest cost factor) balanced for PvP not PvE.

    [/ QUOTE ]
lol, very bad reasons. Especially if it was to be renamed and balanced for PvE like we are suggesting...
  2. to expand on my idea a bit: Perhaps have an option that shows up when you talk to a contact such as Lord Recluse that says "Agree to form a Super Group Strike Force" and after you do it, you can then all say something like "TO THE BATCAVE!" (or whatever you call your base) and just do the missions as you normally would, but in the base via the raid porter. That way you still have to assemble in the proper zone to start the SF. Also, have the name of the SF be the name of the sg, in my case it would be Strike Force Bane of Prometheus rather than some random name. I dunno, it's not the greatest idea ever but it would give a little sg identity to it and promote sg/coalition teaming more.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
Making SG missions a notch above a normal mission's difficulty would certainly be an option for making something that encourages teaming. Kind of like how Hazard Zones have larger sized spawns to encourage using teams there.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I'd love an option for doing the RSF/STF but having the AV/Heroes be a lvl higher for it if you do it via the sg computer. (the RSF like it used to be) Or just a regular mission option setting it to 11 for the hell of it and the challenge... Or don't even include that, but allow us to do the current strike forces via the base and the raid teleporter making it nice and convenient for us. Give us incentive to have that raid porter and the computer. In this case you don't have to travel via the zones to all the mission doors and can just instance in to each mission immediately. Nice and clean and easylike.
  4. I don't think they were to easy before... I mean, you had to be willing to traverse the shard for crying out loud...

It's the only zone open to villains with a lvl requirement

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is incorrect - The PvP zones, Monster Island and The Abyss all have level requirements (though they lack beacons)

    [/ QUOTE ]

sorry, to clarify that should have said "It's the only zone open to villains with a lvl requirement accessible via the porters"
  6. QR

I'm a bit tired of having everything catered to the smaller one or two man sg's. There should be stuff for the bigger sg's and only for them. This is an MMO afterall. I agree there should be stuff for the for the small guys as well, but not necessarily everything.

I'd like to see newspaper-ish missions with EB's scaled up the AV status when there's a certain amount of people on the team. I'd like more SF/TF's via the computer as well. Maybe they could tailor up all the current SF/TF's available in the game and kick them up a notch for us crazy SG's that think we can handle a "above relentless/invinceable" challenge. That darn mission computer is so under utilized right now.
  7. QR

not super important but Villains now have access to 8 zones via the porters...

and is the RWZ still considered a hazard zone? It sort of is and sort of isn't... It's the only zone open to villains with a lvl requirement, but I don't really consider it a hazard zone since it has a trainer, shops, tailer, contacts, etc...
  8. They were repeatable blinky missions in the shard and each blinky gave a large inspiration and there were like 5 or 6 or maybe more per mission. You could get a ton of biggies doing it.

what if doing a Mayhem/Safeguard unlocked the recipe on the Empowerment Station so you could re-craft those temp travel powers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, for one thing, many people would stop taking travel powers. Just continuously re-create that flying backpack.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'd actually prefer the jump pack. Back on topic, how would this be bad? It would allow for much greater freedom of choice as far as powers and role-players and whatnot. I can't see a true negative to having travel powers being craftable, especially since those mayhem/safeguard powers aren't quite as fast as the true versions of the powers.

actually i had another idea regarding my tourism flagging idea. Give the sg in question a small, one time, prestige bonus when someone who isnt in the sg visits the base? like charging a nominal fee for an amusement park or something, but it wont cost the visiting characer anything.

    [/ QUOTE ]
A cool idea but would probably lead to way to much abuse.

I kinda liked Castaway. Wouldnt want to see it again but I liked it the first time around.

EDIT: Oh and becase it annoys people.
    First after Red name! w00t!

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's only annoying when that's the ONLY thing people say after a redname...

Not to mention in a more dramatic way regarding RV. That backdrop changes as a result of PvP and is something PvEers can only dream about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Last I checked the backdrop of RV changes because of PvE, not PvP....

    150+ times we've done it

    [/ QUOTE ]

150 times and you dont know why people are going to warburg?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, if it's not for nukes, then yes I'm asking for a second time now, why are you going to warburg AFTER you complete the RSF?

I'm thinking you're leaving the reward window up... and if so, why warburg? won't sirens or bloody bay work too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of the nice features of CoH/V is the variety of things people can do... we don't all have to follow the same regimented styles.

Me? I'm a "powergamer" and I like the extra 0.2% that a 52 HO gives over a 50 HO. Also, I like pvp so for me a trip to Warburg is a nice treat. And nukes may not be "necessary" but I LIKE the big boom and the over-the-top debuffs.

Some people can't stand what I like, but those same people are willing to kill 100 contaminated or grind hundreds of pillboxes for badges - activities that would have me teariing my hair out for sheer boredom. But people love that stuff.'

I can't stand missions anymore, but I have friends who can't stand missing even a line of content.

I will never criticize another's approach to the game, unless it involves ruining others' fun (eg. griefing.)

Nukes may be unnecessary and 52 HOs may seem silly, but I like them

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not really sure why you chose to respond to me in such a way. I was only wondering why people were doing it because I didn't know about the exploit until a little while ago.

Since it takes all of ten minutes to get a Warburg nuke, and you are going to Warburg after the RSF, then may as well use that trip you make anyway to grab more nukes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've done the RSF countless times and never gone to warburg after it for any reason. Why are you going to warburg AFTER the RSF?

In fact, I've never gotten a nuke, my sg has only used nukes maybe twice in the 150+ times we've done it. We take down the heroes usually in about 5-10 minutes so that time in warburg would be a complete waste with all the zoning necessary as well as the time to get the nukes.

The Statesman TF looks like nine kinds of awesome (although isn't it going to break a certain story arc to have Statesy physically handing out this TF?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's the only other issue I have with it at this point. Depending on how it pans out on Test, I may ask that States be moved to inside the FC ship with the door unlocked by the badge. AFAIK, Recluse will only hand out his SF to a leader who has his Patron badge, so it wouldn't be dissimilar in that regard.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've never heard any such thing. Not sure, but I think I've lead teams with toons that havne't finished their patron arc yet. As far as I know, you only need to have a team of 8 and everyone in the zone and he'll fire up the SF no problem.
  17. I can easily beat that xp count. And I did it during the first double xp weekend, not the recent one. This here is my combat log from said event!

So, in a way, that one kill yielded me a total of 979,154 xp and 3700 prestige. Crazyness!

And this was done on a team of 8 mind you. No crazy soloing of an AV here...
  18. well... that's true to a certain extent, but my SG was doing it in an hour with NO stone brute. My main bone of contention is with /stone and /thermals being so highly valued on these forums. Sure, they're nice, but hardly NEEDED... Invulns and to some extent /energy can easily take the place of a stoner and still not cause more time needed for the RSF. However, with no rad or kin you could also still do it in a reasonable timeframe if you have other builds, just maybe not as super fast. A team with a poison MM and a thermal and a sonic corruptor would probably only suffer a from a 15 minute difference nowadays.. and that's a maybe, now that the heroes are only 53. Heck, throw in a couple of /colds and you wouldn't even miss the end buff from a /kin

The point here is that people need to stop thinking that you NEED a certain team makeup for the RSF. Moreso now than ever before you can have a varied team makeup.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
you don't need shivans or nukes

    you do need
    1-2 kins
    1-2 rads
    1-2 therms
    1 /SA brute

anything else is gravy ( /cold, /sonic corrs; others like poison MM)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just keep on perpetrating the ignorance.

If you REALLY think you NEED those things, I don't know what to tell you. You far from NEED a stoner anymore, in fact you never NEEDED a stoner. You sure don't NEED a thermal, never did. A case can be made for needing a /kin and a /rad, that's about it. And with this nerfage you might not even NEED them anymore nearly as much as you used to.

The only thing any of us NEED is OXYGEN!!! (and a couple of other things too)
  20. well, the problem with whites is that they will attack you regardless of a taunt aura... whereas greys will either run or attacks you because of a taunt aura, without the aura they won't do anything. And what they are doing right now on the live servers is nothing...
  21. Nice list, all things that have effected me at some point. Very happy to get an official response about the RSF drops in the last mission, thank you!
  22. Has anyone ever seen Numina actually rez another hero? I've done the RSF about 30 times now and on the third mission we've tried to keep her alive and she never rez's anyone, is this a myth, does anyone have video proof of it?
  23. Yeah, I think there's some confusion here. They are in a misison that you enter at portal corp, not spawned from a portal...
  24. I don't know if this is by design or a bug but I have a costume with cirlces as the pattern on every part and now I can't get the circles on the skirt, so she has circles everywhere except on the skirt and it looks pretty lame. The skirts can only have a solid color now and I don't like it! She's able to keep the costume if I make no changes, but if I make one change anywhere on her, the skirt will default to a non pattern version.
  25. Couldn't you simply delete the character in question and then write said novel/story/comic book? Sure it would still be on a backup somewhere, but technically the toon doesn't exist anymore.
