  1. The name of the mission (the one that shows up in the tray) is a key part in your arc as well. Depending on how it is worded is how the entire mission is percieved by the player. For example...

    Defeat all spirits in office
    Purge all spirits from office
    Cleanse office of spirits

They all point to the same basic goal of punching the ghosties, but this perhaps means the difference of angry poltergiest vs. vicitimized wandering spirits.
  2. I think they changed that. I've run editing teams through my arc before and we all seemed to get the clues to read. Clues should be hinted at in pop ups for the clue-challenged, but I don't think anyone misses out on the clues themselves anymore.
  3. I say make a good storyline for the people who want to enjoy a good plot to an arc and at the same time make it enjoyable enough for the ones just in it for the challenge without reading. I personally love a good story with lots of clues and things that help me guess at the plot if it is deep. My arc has a lot of that...

(Insert shameless advertising here and obvious pointing towards the signature)
  4. Well. he's not really a captive persay... It's more like a villain within a villain group who has set up a meeting with you at the expense of his fellow mages kind of deal. Perhaps I can make it to where they discovered his true intentions... *Gears start turning*
  5. I know Tyrant is because I have seen him in maps before as a captive. Not so sure about Anti-Matter. I think he might've been overlooked by accident because he shares robots with Neuron. I wanted to use Anti-Matter in my arc as well, but I wound up resorting to Neuron due to Anti-Matter not being there.
  6. Ok, so in my arc I have been getting complaints about an outdoor Graveyard 2 CoT mission. The issues isn't the CoT, but it's a silent captive that, because AE is still rather buggy, does not:

    A) Say any inactive text until aggroed
    B) Front, Middle, and Back placement aren't working properly either (though I don't know what that would do in an outdoor map)

The problem is, it needs to be in a graveyard for the sake of the story. Sometimes I can find him in an instant and other times he doesn't appear to even be on the map. Anyone have any ideas? I already tried:

    1) Magical Rune Casting making large explosions and lots of noise.
    2) I changing the map to the slightly smaller Graveyard 1 outdoor map.

Should I just forego the story for the moment and put it in and indoor map until AE becomes more advanced or is there a way for me to make it like "You Are Here, He is there"?
  7. All I can say to this is to each their own Auspice. I'd say it may be worth it on the Enforcers, but I'd put it in a spreadsheet if I wanted to get real numbers.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Achilles is terrible, 10% chance for 10 seconds of -res is terribad. Don't put it in any pets, even merc soldiers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I dunno, I have 2 Achilles in both of my mercs and I moniter the proc. There is barely a time that I HAVEN'T debuffed resistance and kept it on the target.
  9. Under "Story Settings" does your "Story Description" have a line break in it? It's the text that shows up in the search window when picking arcs. It doesn't let you have line breaks in it which makes it invalid but doesn't tell you. Example

    [ QUOTE ]
    Story: Savior of Satire
Description: Help blah blah blah stop comedy from blah blah blah<br>
    <br>
Authors Notes: This arc contains 3 EBs and 1 AV, bring friends.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, the line breaks make it invalid.
  10. Quick Version: Remove the Hasten's contant "firey" hands. Just get rid of the FX entirely or end the visualization when it reaches the hands.

So I was at the tailor the other day on one of my toons and I was playing around with different costumes. There's no real logical way of explaining this, but after playing around with it a while, the auras I used to hate so much seem to have worked their way into my heart. After finding the perfect look... (that is obviously a matter of opinion), I hit the accept button and waived my fee as I usually do and set out to kill-err defeat some council. I didn't notice it until I got in the mission, but suddenly my electric hands weren't so... electrifying. Instead, I couldn't see anything except my hands being on fire.

So, my request is that Hasten's constant effects are removed. Not changed, just removed. Why? Because it is a loud effect for no reason. Ok, so with that said, I know defensive toggles have this thing about always being rather loud. Best example of this is Granite Armor. So some would say, "Removing hasten hands would justify my argument of removing the FX from _______." Yes, yes it would I suppose, but at the same time the rock outcropping encasing your flesh is protecting you, or the searing fire is sheilding you, or the ice is deflecting objects. I can't think of any real good reason why my hands should be on fire aside from the idea that they are moving so fast that my hands are constantly burning.

  12. <QR> May have already been mentioned.

Hmm on second thought, doesn't this change indirectly mean that an in-game respec recipe now has an actual real world value? This is opening a real world vs MMO world pricing competition because the intellectual property (Respecs) has a real world value. RMT sites could start buying up the respec recipes on the ingame markets and sell them for $7 or something.

This is potentially a bad thing...
  13. A resounding "meh" for this one.

I think it's a bad idea personally. Oh well.
  14. My slot request finally went through the other day after a month of trying to buy slots and I was about to roll an alt today and now they are gone... CoH/V is cruel .
  15. The topic was brought back from the dead a while ago. It was on page 3 last time I checked after it had been brought back to us from beyond, but I guess Azu mistook it for a recent post. Some moron has been reviving old redname posts all around the board for kicks.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Just a quick question. My damn Zombies won't attack inanimate objects (bank vaults, cars, pay phones, etc). Is there any way to rewrite the attack command so they'll obey me?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some objects confuse pets because the 'target' for the object isn't actually the entire object. Sometimes pets will have a hard time destroying cardboard boxes, trucks, bus stops, even other objects in other missions. Since they are melee based, they think they can't reach the object, though they are standing right next to them. If you ever free that elec/elec brute from prison, you'll see she thunderclaps and powersinks some objects because she thinks she can't reach it. The best solution if your pets arent attacking something is to:

    A) Move them away from the object and wait a second to see if they use a ranged attack

    or

    B) Destroy the object yourself. You have Brawl and your Origin Power. No problem there once you're higher in level.
  17. Lord Regulus’s Short Sweet and to-the-point Strategy Guide (?) to Ninja/Trick Arrow

Rather than redo my previous guide to Ninja/Trick Arrow, why don’t I let you decide how to slot yourself up and decide which powers you like. I’ll just supply you with some strategies that have worked for me. Onto the fun!

So, Ninja/Trick Arrow too complicated for you? Well luckily for you if you are reading this short-ish guide I have played my Ninja/Trick Arrow religiously and have performed the Russian way of fixing things: Beat it, whack it, smack it, slam it with a hammer, and punch it until it works.

My favorite Mastermind is my Ninja/Trick Arrow, possibly one of the most challenging Mastermind combinations to play. It was a pain to level, but that was back when I was a complete noob and had no belief in support. Back then all the numbers are orange, green, and red. So as far as going through the early levels as a Ninja/Trick Arrow, I can only speculate because I discovered how wonderful TA is at level 26 or so and I then started doing amazing in both PvE and PvP. Let me tell you right now, it is not the fastest way to kill something. There are a lot more combinations out there that will kill in PvE faster than a Ninja/Trick Arrow. It is slow until you get your first Resistance Debuff and your Jounin, but after that it begins to get interesting. This build is a late bloomer so if you’re willing to start off slow, I can promise you that it will pay off in the end if you learn to use the build correctly. But with that aside, since you have so many options at your disposal as a Trick Archer, you can salvage bad situations effectively. If something goes wrong with other combinations, it could result in your untimely demise. In my opinion, to play a Ninja/TA you need to have the following down:

    A) Pet Control
    B) Area of Battle
    C) Quick Reflexes on Key-binds (or Macros) and Powers

I like challenges in games, especially if they're unnecessary. So lets go over them.

    A) Pet Control
First off, you should learn what I call the Ninja Distance Attack principle which this:

If I position my Ninja X amount of feet away from my target, what attack is he going to most likely use?

This is important to force your Jounin into placing caltrops patches, to fight against Genin Shuriken spams, and, in later levels, getting the Oni to use his controlling chain to basically take one or two enemies out of combat. (Ring of Fire, Char, Ring of Fire [repeat]). A good way to try this out is to use the Practice Dummies in Rikti War Zone. A better way is to go to the Arena with another Mastermind or a strong friend and start messing around with the distances. Keep in mind, power usage is not guaranteed, but if your Jounin is right next to the guy then chances are he is going to start swinging his sword around. If your Ninja is using ranged attacks and you don’t want him to, try putting him on passive follow for a few seconds and let his aggro drop then send him into melee and see if he starts kicking. Same applies to the Oni. If he is using his flashy yet weak melee attacks, send him out of range for a few seconds and then send him to attack again. He’ll probably start ranging them. (It is much easier to switch from Melee to Range than vice versa).

    B) Area of Battle
This one is fairly easy if you got the first one down. Your Trick Arrows are all AoEs except for Ice and Entangle Arrow. The Area of Battle is the about 20 foot area where you try to keep the enemy within using slows to keep them in and you and the Oni stay back to immobilize and hold enemies trying to escape. Keep all the enemies within the area and you can put your Genin and Jounin on Aggressive mode and let them choose their targets within the mob. On top of all that, with the recent fix to Oil Slick Arrow, you have a new best friend to burn your enemies with. Even if they are ADD, they enemies aren’t going anywhere if you’re on top of the controlling If you keep them in the sphere (AKA blatant duh’s)
    1) Your Controls will affect more people.
    2) Your Oni’s Rain of Fire and Breath of Fire will be much more effective.
    3) Your Melee Ninjas will behave better and you can let them fight as they want to.
    4) You are less likely to aggro more mobs if a mob is contained in a space of control.

Pertaining to number 3, Ninja ADD-ness is not only accepted, but I also recommend it. If your ninja are spread out then AoE attacks will be less of an issue and it is much easier to take down a mob fast and keep up with your minions if they are all attacking a separate enemy which leads into C.

    C) Quick Reflexes on Key-binds (or Macros) and Powers
This comes with practice. Are you able to keep an eye on each minion’s status? If a minion is in trouble or fighting something much to take down (like a Genin vs. a red conned Lt.) then you can decide on the best course of action. I put the life of my Minions above mine until the situation becomes dire because I am cognitive and can therefore deduce if a battle is going poorly. Here are some things I think about in combat:

Is your minion about to be hit by an attack? Keep an eye on his power tray and see if there is an attack coming towards him. If so, pull him out of combat and heal him or contain the threat to him by holding the foe.
Is your minion slowly being surrounded by enemies? Pull him away from the dangerous zone for a second or send a second ninja to aid in his battle.
If the battle is going ill, can you pull to a safe zone and recover? Try slowing the enemies advance with glue arrows and resummon and heal before you set up a second Area of Battle and try again.
Have you discerned the biggest threat in a Mob? If you have your Ice arrow and you slot your Oni for holds, you can keep up to an elite boss perma-held during a fight. The Oni can keep a boss held by himself if you slot him right. Keep the big guy out of combat so your melee ninjas can take down the weaker enemies first then finally gang up on the last enemy. If you keep a boss or tough lieutenant down, that may mean less AoE damage that he or she can cause your pets. Remember, the fewer attacks there are, the more less your ninja have to dodge.

Remember to make key-binds and get Aid Other. You’re going to need both to prevent your Ninja from flat lining. Always be one step ahead of an enemy attack and anticipate damage to keep your health bars filled.

Well that is enough for someone to chew on I suppose. A long guide gets tiring, but if it too short it is tossed in the trash for being shallow. If you have any questions just PM me or something or look up some of the Key-bind and Macro guides for more info on those if you need help. I definitely recommend Pet Mastery 101. It’s not like “I” wrote it or anything…

  20. Ok, I fixed all the pictures. I gave the login link by accident. They should all work now.
  21. Just found three more. The last one was kind of set up though >.>

    How did I fire that?
So, I'm roughly four feet tall... and that arrow is... Guess that's what happens when you shoot the Titan.

That's pretty good cover, wouldn't you say?
Rule one of fire fights, find good cover. To find it, perhaps its best to ask the guy you're fighting.

It's good to know hes good for something
This was back when I had just hit level 26 and was trying out my new bruiser. I was surprised the big guy flew so far because of a +4. He lived btw.
  22. That's odd, all the links should work. Maybe it was because I was looking through the folder at the time.
  23. (Warning - High Resolution Screenshots Except for BOSS_NAME)

So, I was digging around in my Screenshot folder and found some old odd situations I have been in.

    Double Clicked Door
This photo was taken when I fell through the ground by double-clicking a door in a safeguard. I don't know what happened but I found myself falling to the bottom of the founder's fall's safeguard. I'm glad I wasn't alone so I could get TP. /Stuck didn't quite work.

    I found a hole!
So I was walking through Grandville and noticed a wall was missing. This wall has recently been quietly patched up, but it let you get under the entirety of Grandville. It was very strange seeing what some of this stuff looks like.

It's April 2nd so the Rickroll was removed.

    Defeat BOSS_NAME and Guards
So, this is what happens when you transfer a character to another server while holding onto a paper mission...

Capt. Mako's out of the closet?
Well... if his lack of clothes didn't give it away, we stumbled across this rouge tooth in the Leviathan mission.

    Enjoy!
  24. Lawlz.

It woulda been cool though. But the AR's visual sound effect was all wrong I think.
