Simple question really.. or is it?
As i know i don't want Nerve due to Rage and the rather sizable +tohit buff it grants when running.
For the others, really don't know.. Musculature seems a tempting choice though, especially with the rare/very rare versions coming soon.
Or maybe Cardiac boost? As with the Rage crashes, Foot Stomp/Knockout Blow/Fireball tossing, the end drains do stack up pretty quickly.
Then again, maybe Spiritual would be the best choice, as it'd get all the AoE goodies charging faster, along with Fiery Embrace, Healing Flames and Hasten.
But i don't know, all of them seem to have their ups and downs (except Nerve), so yeah.. could use some help picking out the alpha boost that would fit the character the best. -
Quote:Seem to be recalling Starless Step/Teleport Foe are mag 2 (assuming they even are based on magnitudes) ports, thus they don't port liuetenants.Unfortunately, I don't know if it was my difficulty, or an innate resistance, but the Void Stalker Lieutenants turned out to be immune to my Starless Step. I just COULD NOT get them to teleport, no matter how many times I tried it.
Of course, might be wrong since i haven't exactly looked at the foe porting powers lately due to me never actually taking them. -
Got the email telling me the issue has been escalated and the follow up mail which wanted details on which character sent the mails and on what servers, to which i now have replied to.
Hoping that issue gets resolved soon, as while i didn't lose all that much, it's still pretty annoying when your mails go missing overnight. -
This is cute.. bulk of my mails are still there, but i seem to have lost a Numina piece or few, along with 200mils of inf.
So yay for that.. will petition this and in the future, i got to remember to claim any/all mails as soon as i swap characters to prevent this nonsense from happening again. -
Quote:Mmm.. i know, but it should help hasten, which in turn will help domination (not to mention almost everything other power i have), leaving me free to guzzle down the blue bar in moments.Just as an FYI the incarnate spiritual alpha will not affect domination. It only benefits powers that can be slotted for its effects and since domination cannot be slotted... well you can see where I am going with this
-
First off, thanks for the replies..
Quote:Hmm, yes.. i was actually looking at the build last night and it got me thinking that perma-domination doesn't actually require one to have perma-hasten, though it'd certainly make things easier but it doesn't seem mandatory, as long as one has decent amount of +recharge to fall back on when hasten expires.Without it being ticked, as in the link you sent, your Dom recharge is 111.89, but with the green circle ticked 'on', showing your recharge with Hasten now factored in, your Dom recharge is now at 80.4, well below the 90 second recharge of Dom.
Quote:you'll get 2, maybe 3 cycles of permadom out of that build. add another 10% rech and you'll be able to maintain it if you can keep up with clicking Hasten and Dom as soon as they're up.
Quote:is it necessary? well that's a matter of opinion. I would think that most players would agree that it is. that said, you really only need about 160-165% rech (90-95% IO bonus + 70% hasten) to maintain permadom easier and more reliably. the necessity is that is gives all of your mezz powers steroids and gives you mezz protection.
Then again, been considering the cardiac alpha as well, since earth seems a bit heavy with the end costs and i know i'm almost left gasping at the end of the fight as it is currently, but that would leave me with slower recharge on hasten and.. honestly don't know if it's be worth it.. -
So i went and finally found it.. a dominator that's fun to play.. a dominator that i got past the level 15 (a point where all the previous attempts stalled at).
Since this is my first serious dommy, been having trouble figuring out a decent build but after some thinking, i managed to cobble something together.. something i thought was pretty decent.
Now.. as i've been leveling (the character is now level 44.5'ish) been hearing how i should aim for perma-domination and how it's awesome and 'totally worth the cost', i never really thought much about it until after i got some IO'ing done on the character.. as with the help of the Decimations and few other +rech set bonuses, couple of outside buffs, like Speed Boost / Mutation: Quick Reflexes gets domination running perma for me and as a result i've kinda come to agree with people, that getting domination perma would be something worth aiming for.
The trouble however is that try as i might, i can't come up with a build that would achieve that.. which is why this post been made, ie. hoping to get some help in sorting out the build.
Also, upon hitting level 50, i'm intending to go with the Spiritual Alpha boost, in the hopes that it might help getting Hasten charging up a bit faster, but since i'm kinda bad with the related math, dunno how big an effect the boost would really have in the end.

So yeah.. is there a way to get domination permaed for the character without dipping heavily into purples or drastically altering the build?
More so, is perma-domination even really worth going the extra mile for? Or should i be happy with the build i've come up with and forget the whole thing?
As always, all the help/advice will be greatly appreciated. -
Alright, i know this is a bit late, but thanks for the offers folks, as the IO has now been sold.
-
As per the title, got a level 46 crafted Panacea enhancer for sale.
Been sitting on this IO a long while now and.. since i really have no use for it, figured i might as well finally sell it away.
Going rate for level 50's seems to be 2 billion so will accept that or the highest bid.
Those interested in buying the IO, send me a tell at @Lord Mordeth and i will get back to you. -
Quote:Ah, so if i add the additional LotG, i should have Hasten perma, which i suppose would be nice..ish.I don't have Mids' with me right now, so I'll have to do the calculations manually. You have it at 124s, so you have (450/124-1=) 263% total recharge (includes slots in Hasten). With the second Alpha boost, you would get 11% that bypasses ED and another 3.3% at least. That puts Hasten at 276% recharge, or (450/(1+276%)=) 119.68s even without the LOTG. Upgrading to the tier 4 boost will help even more.
Now, all i need to do is figured out where to nix the slots for Hasten..
Quote:The best attack chain Dark Melee can do is Smite >> Midnight Grasp >> Smite >> Siphon Life. You should check the DM/SD help thread to see required recharge times to run that chain. Perma-Hasten does not guarantee that MG will recharge fast enough. -
Quote:Originally had Tough, though not Weave since i have never built the character towards anything specific, like +defense so didn't feel i'd get a whole lot out of the 6'ish % of defense the power would've granted to me.Tough and Weave would add a lot to your survivability.
Dark Regeneration could be slotted better. There is a Tanker thread titled "Dark Armor Sucks" that discusses different slotting options.
Cloak of Darkness could also be slotted better.
As far as Alpha slotting goes, you can probably benefit from the recharge bonus. You don't have perma-Hasten and you are far from being able to run the highest attack chain. The healing bonus secondary effect from the recharge Alpha boost will also help you.
About my slotting well, it has changed during the years though since as said, haven't built/slotted for anything specific, mainly went with what seemed like workable idea, as never checked any guides or the like when it comes to Dark Armor.
As for the Alpha boost, it's funny you mention perma-Hasten, as i was thinking about that last night, as with moving few slots around i could get the power charging in 124'ish seconds, 121 if i added an additional LotG +recharge into the build.
Of course, don't know if the Spiritual Alpha boost would be enough to make the power perma, though it would be close.. -
So i finally managed to do a respec on my namesake, run through the incarnate arc and get enough shards/components to craft me an Alpha boost but then it hit me, i don't actually need anything, at least i don't think i do since i got plenty of accuracy, enough recovery to keep me running through even longer fights and oodles of +recharge so i'm in unsure about what Alpha boost i should grab, since i don't really feel like i'd be getting much out of any of them.
Anyways, my build is as follows:

If anyone has any suggestions/tips/advice on how to modify the build and thus get the most out of the Alpha boosts, it'd be most appreciated. -
Oh good, it isn't just me.. i mean, first time it happened, i thought someone had hacked my account or something.
Quote:And.. yeah, been thinking it might be this, but dunno really, would certainly be awesome if it stopped happening but eh.. it's an annoyance and not that big one, all things considered.Perhaps the client and server disagree on whether the 30-second timer is done or not. -
Ok, been getting hit with the message most times since the new issue went live, when i try to log back to character selection screen.. while not game breaking or anything, it's starting to finally annoy me to the point i no longer can just ignore it.
Granted, the issue has existed before I19, with me randomly getting the: This account is already logged in/etc message at totally random times when i try to swap characters/log back in after a game session, but since it now (most times) prevents the use of character selection log out, got to wondering.. anyone else suffering with something similar or is it just me? -
Yes, very much /signed to this as would love to see more TAoE sets for sure.
-
Will be going with Cardiac for my Widow and for my Bane.. well, no idea honestly, since he has oodles of +rech already and really doesn't need more end reduction or accuracy,
-
Saw the Origins pack, wanted to buy it, got hit with the following:
'We're sorry, but we are unable to accept your order at this time. Please try again later or tomorrow. If you continue to have problems, you may wish to blah blah blah..'
It's a shame.. as people want to buy the packs but are unable to do so.
Can't emphasise this enough.. seriously, do get this crap fixed because is retardedly appalling that it's STILL happening to people.
EDIT: I use Firefox, so decided to, for giggles, try out if IE would let me buy the Origins pack and lo and behold, the transaction went through without a ******* hitch. -
-
Quote:Indeed, this would likely be the best solution that could be done.Best suggestion so far would be a room where people can go with suppression.
Personally though, i don't care which form of suppression gets implemented as long as something IS implemented as i've long since grown tired of MM pets clogging up the markets, with flashy auras from people throbbing around for good measure and crap. -
Uhh, yeah.. how about no?
As first off, this isn't even needed, as come on.. how long does the 1-22 trip take? That's right, not long so one should do just fine with TO's/DO's till then.
If that's not enough, one can always use YO's to fill up some gaps.
So this gets an /Unsigned from me, especially in the form of an veteran reward. -
Quote:Yeah, this for me.I am not personally experiencing any more difficulty in the game, even in Praetoria. I just had to learn to adapt my style to the new types of enemies.
As perhaps the first time or few is tough, but after that one should know what's coming and thus deal with the situation accordingly. -
Getting flickering graphics too now, mainly any/all water sources flicker around like mad.
This is with reflections/water effects set to high, with no shadows and no ambient occlusion.
Edit: Turning off enviromental reflections or toning down the water effects a notch seems to remove the issue. -
Only had two incidents requiring GM assistance and both times one appeared within 10 or so minutes of me making the petition.
-
Got some 20+ characters, most located on Virtue and only TWO of them use the dual/second build option.
Of those two, one's a Widow and the other is SoA so using dual builds makes certain sense, as who'd want to level a Widow and Fortunata separately when they don't have to? -
23rd only?
Eh, dammit.. was hoping to move few unused characters away from Virtue but guess that ain't happening now.
