  1. Still being that the pack has a longer recharge it would be nice if it lasted 60 - 90 seconds, not that it doesnt have its uses.
  2. You know you guys always seem ot be short on people, artists , programmers etc. Perhaps you should consider attempting to get a bigger budget or something to accomadate having an additional artist or programmer.

    That would make things much easier for you guys because you could have bug fixer guy and new issue programmer guy , instead of only bug fixer guy who wishes he could be new issue programmer guy.

    Oh and as for artists you could give jay some time off so he can go share his sexiness with other people for a change as opposed to grinding out new art for the masses.
  3. Yes but the part I find completely dissapointing about IOPs and the COP trial is that this is only avalible one week out of each month and ontop of that a single IOP only gives a 1% bonus to whichever attribute the IOP is for.

    If the IOPs are only avalible for one week a month and they open your base to raids from other groups the value should be more like 10%. 10% is worth fighting for whereas 1% is not worth the hassle. At 1% the IOPs are severly underpowred, especially for all the risk they bring to your SG/VG base and for the fact that they are only avalible for one week out of the month.

    Sure you can painstakingly attempt the COPT 5 times and hope to get 5 of the same IOP for a mere 5% boost, but that is way to much work for practically no reward and a heap load more risk.

    If us players are going to be doing something that isnt avalible very often and that makes us take extra risks; then it only makes sense we get a decent reward for it and 1% isnt nearly satisfactory.
  4. Hmm odd, i figured they would have coded it as a pet since that is probably the easiest way to code the power. You create a pet and give it a set AI sequence to do the chain castings. As others have said it would be invisible so vola. Seems easy to me any way, but dont pets reduce your exp or did they fix that ( if not it could be the actual cause of the problem) ?
  5. Well even though the current electric powers are reddish, perhaps we will be able to alter them when we get the previously mentioned power customization features?
  6. The devs dont care about tanks and what little opinion they do have they will not be swayed from. They made the tank and realised it was capable of more survivablity then they wanted(IE we must require other support to do what we do),while the other support classes dont require tanks and can infact make current tanks obsolete in most situations.

    We've pointed out problem after problem with thier design logic on tanks/scrappers and recieved no word back for months. To me this indicates they feel the defense changes will make things "feel" right to them and that the players will simmer down once they get rolled out. Of course they wont even post something along the lines of "wait and see how issue 7 improves things before we will look at it again", cant even post something that simple, its sad. Not trying to be rude but thats the truth of it.
  7. but how exactly will these buffs work ( this goes for invnetions as well) ? We run to our base and get the buff or invention and we can use it anywhere til it runs out, or are we limited to using it while in the sg base or in sg mode?
  8. This is a ridiculus demand from some players...the whole point of the badge is that you can only get it in one area. If you want the badge for a "badge" toon , make a new toon to get it and then go from there.

    If ya missed the badge, oh well its not needed for anything.

  10. The biggest problem with Isolator is that new people come to the game and dont even know they could get Isolator.

    AFAIK the badge isnt required for any thing else is it ?

    So long as its a stand alone badge I dont see a need to make it available in an alternate method. I beleive the point of the badge is that you can only get it in one spot - so adding a new way to get it would be counterproductive.

    Even if a monster requires more than one team to defeat teh experience for doing so is very horrible and not really worth it.


    Take for example Lusca, our favorite octopus. Havent defeated her even once since issue 5 came out . Usually take her on with a full team and a half if not more. Just happens to be worthless to bother trying since its nothing more than a pile of uber debt waiting to happen.

    The DE monsters are a bit weaker and infact dont require more than one team to take out. The problem with increasing their difficulty is that it inadvertantly makes hamidon raids exceedingly difficult. Sure there is definatly more than one team at a hamidon raid, but if the mosnter is killing 20 or 30 heros in one swing, taking the monster out probably wont happen because not even an issue 4 tank could handle something like that.

    that being said - currently if i pop unstoppable i can tank any of the monsters in the game its just a matter of getting the dps to kill it in the 3 minutes i have. Now if for example, monsters were made harder than that; any non tank would not be capable of helping fight the monsters because theyd get one shotted constantly( as it is now most ATs can take 2 or 3 hits before dying, giving defenders a chance to save them).

    Making them harder also means that they are more danagerous in PI with griefers pulling them over. Even with the drones there a monster can still roam around a bit without being taken out. Ive had trouble taunting it off of the puller and getting it to drones - and if they were made harder this situation would only be worse.
  12. Even just looking at that list it makes me fear that most of the manpower at cryptic will be focused on COV and we'll get less new content in COH because of it. I mean this issue is essentially issue 1 for COV and its a large update for the game, but all that new stuff means people have to make it, and that means people arent making things for COH

    States didnt say much about PVP - and rightfully so because it requires a potentially alternate solution.

    This change has been stated to effect PVE - leave PVP out of it ( yes i know the +DEF sets need PVP fixes too, but rrelax a bit and see if they can even do it rigth for PVE first).

    Umm this change means this : Im a blaster. I go fight a +5 boss with a 95% chance to hit me (its more than that but clmaped a5% so 95 works when not considering debuffs). I die. Now I turn on combat jumping, and that boss has a 57.5% chance to hit me instead of the 95%.

    this change would be a stealth buff to defense powers ( in the case of combat jumping vs 95% to hit the buff is 35%compared to 2.5%).

    If this change is going to happen, all mobs within the +5 range should have a 50% chance to hit ANY player , not just thsoe with +DEF, unless your intending to do this.

  17. the point blank fact of the matter is that tanks didnt need to be nerfed as hard as they were and we do deserve some compensation as per the fact that our primary powersets are very undiversifiable.

    If Statesman in fact made this change to "encourage diversity", we should get something in return for the fact that we cant possibly diversify something that takes 1 type of enhancement let alone ~9 powers like that.

    If he wants to encourage diversity he has to realise that some ATs cant and then accomadate that fact.

    We dont need a billion resistance and defense, we only need and honestly deserve what ED stole from us.
  18. i suppose what it comes down to is that the devs finally gave into their own failure with the enhancment system. They must have not understood the concept of power gaming and the levels people will goto to break the systems that games have.

    There are those of us that will take the tools given to us and hone them so finely that we can wield them against the toughest, most dangerous threats avalible to us and we will stretch the limits of our power as far as they will go. There is no challenge for us unless it is meant to be impossible and even then we strive to overcome.

    when faced with a broken system we ended up showing just how broken it was, just how much better our way of doing things was compared to someone who didnt strive to be the absolute strongest, fastest and most powerful. There was this grand caynon size gap between the 5/6 slotted builds comapred to the actual diverse builds the devs had envisioned everyone playing.

    So now everything is ruined in the system. Many powers have been weakened, and their potential has also been cut back with a "diversification" scheme. Its like the Devs team tried to build a family car, but came out with Turbo charged dodge viper. So what did they do when they realised they had made the car too powerful for what they had intended? Tore out the engine , replaced it with used parts from obscure manufactuers and hoped youd never find a way make the car even a shadow of its former self. That wasnt enough though, they also put in a smaller gas tank and punctured it to boot.

    You can only squeeze so much blood out of a stone before you realise its your own and then pass out.

    We infact can slot our powers to compensate what was taken away, but that doesnt diversify us, it will move us closer to being the same. We get the to all enjoy the refirbished 4 door version of a viper, rusting frame and all. Did I mention they all come in black , fit for a funeral. Heros are dead, theyve been balanced with civillians.
  19. You know perhaps slotting an endurance in each attack might help. Heck i even do that with my kat/regen. 3 slotted QR and stamina and i still have 1 end redu in each attack.

    for my non regen characters i usually run 3 slotted stamina and 1-2 end redu in attacks. I dont seem to have any endurance problems.

    the point of my previous posts however is the fact that while you are attacking you are using less endurance than you used to( toggles may be an exception i dont know). You also arent regenerating that endurance either and if toggles didnt get a discount then the discrepancy might be there.

    Also i use rest maybe once every three battles or so ( while solo and fighitng +1 or +2 mobs in groups of 3-5 with my invul/ss).
  20. ill repeat what i said 2 posts ago 13% endurance discount is exactly the amount of endurance you used to recover pre Enhancement Diversification, stop whining and hit rest between battles.
  21. the discount amounts to 1-4 points per attack, usually 2 points. so with an attack chain 4 long you can save approximatly 8 endurance.
    assume for arguement that chain takes 10 seconds to execute.
    8 endurance every 10 seconds is 24 end/ minute or .4 endurance a second which is the same recovery youd get with an additonal 3 slots in stamina.

    the endurance that you are no longer recovering you are also no longer using. Also keep in mind rest hasa reduced recharge time so you can use it more often to reduce any additonal down time you might have ( and the nerf to stamina does effect your downtime, but not your combat effectivness )

    the devs actually handled stamina and ED pretty well. The real failure they had is all the defensive powers that got this 1/3 enhancment nerf and didn get anything to compensate.
    So if you want to complain about enhancement diversification, complain about scrapper/tank defenses becuase they actually got nerfed whereas our endurance did not.

Well jack, being that you ran an invulnerable tank and said you noticed your health get pretty low pretty often Id say you've at least learned one thing : the team your on might not be helpful to your survival. for what ever the reasons, your listed teammates appearantly didnt know what they were doing and left you to rely on dull pain, because they were busy dirt napping.

    In such situations where your team cant nessiccarily keep you alive, i would not attribute it to any fault of theirs (unless it involved aggroing more spawns). The issue is that our resistances to non smashing / lethal are a bit too low. With the current motto of only 3 slots per power, our resistances hit 28%.

    Now Im of the belief that we need at the very least, 38% ( our pre ED resistances) but ill settle for 5% resistance and 5% defense. You can do many things to get those numbers but id honestly prefer that you improve Resist elements and resist energies by 2.5% each then improve tough hide by 5%.

    Right now our survival depends on the mobs around us rather than our own skill. Our resistances are too low to depend on and the same goes for the current version of tough hide. that leaves us with invinciblity's defense, which is based on mobs around us. And unlike the example play session you gave, we cant nessicarily avoid our current weaknesses, which is everything that isnt smashing and lethal damage.

    Our given weakness is psionic damage, because none of our powers give us protection from it. However energy, negative energy, fire,toxic,and ice are all practically kryptonite to us and we have no way to handle it because of Enhancment diversification. It basically ganked our primary, because it is essentially undiversifiable. Trying to compensate with secondary effects from our attacks is not always possible, and even when it may help some it isnt enough.

    we should not be forced to run and hide from non smashing/lethal damage dealing criminals, nor should we require a defender/controller joined at our hip.

    You have wronged us in the name of balance and in doing so weakened us, it is only right that you fix what you have broken however the spirit of many of our fallen tanks is unrepairable and many have left because of it.

    You'll never get that back, but you could try to patch a few holes in our leaking defenses.
  23. its not dead, we can still amass a herd of mobs if we try hard enough, keeping them all shooting us would be impossible, but im sure we can get them to come hang out .
  24. we should get pictures of all of the phalanx that got defeated, whilst they are on the ground, and if possible picutres from the people that defeated them saying : you have defeated statesman( or any of the others).

    i know synapse,states,manticore,positron, and ravenstorm where declaired as defeated, dont know about the others.
  25. mmm with all the nerfs he's thrown around satesmen wont be able to take much of a beating these days, now my only question is: do i play my tank and try tyo save him from all the angry gamers or do i pounce on him with my mastermind and my minons? no matter which side i chose one thing is true: statesmen is going to need backup and there will be a line of people trying to fight him.
