Alrighty then, I'll take a look. I was under the impression they'd be added as purchaseable by Authors with Tickets.

Is there a way to create uniquely spawning members of a Foe Group? For example I want to create a mission where the Civic Squad spawns as an ambush. I can create the group, but as far as I can tell, I cannot set things up so that only one of each member spawns at a time.

Further clarification- they seek out magical knowledge as a means to overcome their weakness, and that's why you see Magi and Priests. There's a wealth of info in the hero side missions, if you know where to look for it.

    Origins

My feeling is, the devs already have a story in the design stages when it comes to Origins, and we should let it play out. This world is not the world of Marvel, Mutants are not going to be hated. This world is not the world of DC, Magic is just one origin of many.

I'm convinced we'll be seeing origin dependent storylines at some point. However I most definitely don't want them to be a rehash of what has been done in other comics.

Too much ninja, and not enough martial arts for my tastes.
I do find this booster very lacking on may counts.

I am a BIG fan of MARTIAL ARTS and I most probably WILL NOT get his booster pack because I do not want it - and that is a shame.

What would have made me want to get this booster pack?
Martial arts weapons from around the world.
Martial arts costuming from various countries.
    A better straw hat(s)!
    Where's my turban!?
    Wu Xia much?

What makes me not want to get it?
Paying for the prestige sprint. Paying for a power like this is a step in the wrong direction for this game. The Ninja Sprint is far superior to sprint and gives what appears to be even greater advantages than Combat Jumping.
    Too much focus on Ninja.
You're the last person I expected to get hung up on the use of a descriptive word as something that limited your imagination when it came to costume parts. You should have read my post before replying to the thread.

PS- speak for yourself, not some mystical "everyone" that doesn't exist please. I could care less about downtime announcements, and I play through the window on a regular basis.

You can hardly blame the devs for making too many natural sets when they actually left it up to players to decide, and players chose natural sets.
You forgot Growth, which was a first or second pick in terms of popularity, but has proven unfeasible technically.
  8. You're misunderstanding Castle's intent in making the change. It wasn't purely for QoL purposes, but to also give MMs a key decision to make in combat. 'Should I save the end for other powers, or should I use it for Upgrading a couple fresh minions?'

We know this because we have been told so. It may not be the most convenient for players, but it was very definitely intentional.

Here's my question for this thread, since you never actually asked one (rhetorical questions don't count).

Have you looked at the pieces from the booster pack?

In my estimation, if you had, and had given it a little thought, you would have seen just how easy it is to apply most of the new pieces to other origins and types of hero, and have them look fantastic. They mix incredibly well with older pieces and let you do a lot of things better than you could before.

I have a robot for whom the gloves and boots look incredible when matched with a Tech skin. Sonic Vision goggles look like great robotic eyes.

I have several magic users for whom the detailed versions of the Terra and Warrior robes look very arcane.

I have several weapon users for whom the armor pieces look great as an alternative to the ones we have.

I have a character who is a Lobster creature for whom the new helmet looks closer to the armored plating of a real lobster than anything we had before.

So yeah, I'm telling you if you're just going by the name of the pack and the pictures used in the advertisement, you are plain, flat out, completely wrong.

Yeah, these two things were going to be in a post I was thinking of for things I'd like in Ultra Mode.

Fire Stations and Fire Trucks might be good too.

There's the flaw in your reasoning. The standards of our world do not apply to the world in which there is a Paragon City. Heck, the standards of the United States hardly even apply to most other places in the world.

The number of cars depends on three factors:

    1) Ease of car ownership
    2) Ease of car travel
    3) accessibility and availability of public transit.

In the United States of our world, they make it very easy to own a car. That's because in the 1950s the auto companies were the biggest employers and the public works initiatives that led to our highway system made widespread car ownership an easy way to mobilize the population. In the world of Paragon, the history of the world since World War II has been significantly altered. There's no way of knowing whether a lot of the things we take for granted that make owning cars practical and commonplace still happened.

Sure, there are a lot of big roads, but have you ever actually looked at how a traffic pattern would work in Paragon? The segmented nature of the city and hodgepodge nature of areas unaffected by the Rikti War have left a city that is very hard to get around in, even if you do have a car.

In Europe and Asia where the cities are designed to rely more on public transit, the relative number of people you see driving is a lot lower. Same in a big city like New York. Paragon is built with mass transit in mind a lot more than most cities.

So in short, would it make more sense if Paragon was in our world? Sure. Does it automatically mean things in that world should be the same? Not really.
  13. I'd rather see a selection of Loyalist, Syndicate, Resistance, etc models from Going Rogue than anything they've "missed" in the older areas of the game.

I agree, though I'm not willing to go back and look. My recollection is, we've gone through much longer stretches of not getting much new free stuff.

I mean, it's not like we got 1-2 new free sets per issue for every issue up to when Super Boosters started.

So? If you can't behave to the point you get banned from a game, you have bigger problems than if you paid in advance or not.

Yes, World of Warcraft as a title did not exists before CoH, but it was already a successful MMO early on and when it was 'Warcraft'. Then it got a major overhaul and was re-released as 'World of Warcraft'.

Subscribers to 'Warcraft' naturally subbed to WoW.
    huh?

Warcraft I-III were RTS games. They had an online combat system (free, not subscription), but by no definition were they an MMO.

Yes the fact that they had a loyal following was a good seed, but not a primary reason for WoW's success. I know a lot of RTS players who wouldn't touch an MMO. I also know the resemblance between Warcraft and WoW are fleeting at best.

So what the hell, I bought the Science Pack in case I forgot to buy it. It wouldn't let me buy it if I didn't need it right? So I bought the pack and applied it to my account.

Now, I'm pretty well off, enough so that I can throw a bit of money around... and I was curious... so I decided to buy the SAME pack again, and apply it to the SAME account, just to see if the site would recognize that I already have it and not allow me to essentially waste my money.

No deal, the site was MORE than happy to take my money twice and "apply" the same pack to my account twice.

I see something seriously wrong here. It doesn't bother ME, to be honest, because I have the cash to blow... but with it ONLY saying "perk" in the description on your account... how can people know whether they HAVE paid for something or not without actually going in game and looking for the "results" of the pack?

And what's to prevent people that aren't so smart from clicking to buy the same pack over and over again and totally blowing their money for no extra product?

I honestly believe this to be a serious flaw in the NCSoft store... am I the only one that thinks this way? Or do the "idiots" really deserve to be parted with their money without getting any benefit from the loss?
So if it's really a problem, why are you posting about it here? There's not a lot any of us can do. Far better to send a PM to Niv or Ocho or Avatea and let them get on fixing it or explaining why it isn't an issue to you.

And my response to your entirely subjective "fact" is So What?

Any addition to the game someone doesn't like is going to be minimized, and anything they do like that isn't given in a way they like is going to be made a big deal of. This is called subjective opinion. You may not like what we got, but some did. You may not think things are happening fast enough, but there are some of us who look at the totality of what we've gotten. You may not be willing to pay extra for new stuff, but when it all comes down to it, in a game you're playing on an ongoing basis, the cost (even with packs) is cheap at twice the price, compared to other new games or gaming systems.

Short answer is, you'll need a more compelling argument to get any large amounts of sympathy about what's bugging you.
  21. As for the Booster itself, let me just say you made one little lemur very happy today guys. Bouncing around and flipping and whooshing has been what LL always did "in my head" and now it's right there in front of me.

For the sake of some other characters I have, I'm hoping someday you guys revisit Sprint, and make all the variants thereof customizable versions of a single Power, then re-allow the slotting of Universal Travel sets in it. That would make for some nicely efficient slotting, without being gamebreaking, and would dovetail so nicely into this new power you added today.

There's more to Magic than the stage magicky stuff we got (why no faeries or elementals?). There's more Technology than Cyborg stuff (why no gadgets?).

They never said the Origin themed Boosters would be appropriate for all concepts that fit in that origin. They just said they'd exemplify the Origin or enhance a theme within it.

They haven't moved on to a new round yet, and we still have one origin to cover. Trying to say the Martial Arts booster represents a change in the Boosters is a porpoise/dolphin argument.

The team as a whole is, if not spectacular, then at the very least solid. There's some churn as people occasionally leave and are replaced, there's the occasional faceplant, but on the whole, it's going well. After about an hour or so, the team leader announces that he'll be leaving after the current mission and asks if anybody wants the star. Amidst the chorus of "Not Me"'s, you notice that you're of the appropriate level to take over as the leader whether to run arc missions or radios.

What do you do and why?
The entire point of a pickup group is that it can be put down again just as easily. If it's been going for an hour, I'm likely loaded on stuff to sell off or craft, or have met my goal for that character and ready to switch.
