As usual when you complain about this, it needs to be said that there are methods available, and because you don't choose to use them, is not the fault of the game.
-
The main flaw in your entire argument is that you think IOs should be newbie friendly. IOs aren't meant to be a newbie friendly system. That's what regular enhancers are for. They are always available at consistent prices, and always sold at consistent prices. Completely fair.
Not to mention that lowbie recipes for the most part, are quite often available more cheaply than other types of enhancers.
In short, you have to judge the market by the aggregate, not the state of the high demand products that are desirable for highly specialized builds. -
Most Taunt Auras do more than Taunt. they either damage, or debuff enemies. Those get turned off. Things that affect yourself or teammates get suppressed, but anything outside that gets turned off.
Still FAR better than the way things used to be. -

While I love the idea of apartments, I don't think it would do a damn thing for market inflation or the Inf problems. Most of the people who farm and spend tons on IOs because they can, wouldn't stop for a second to make apartments for themselves.
In the end, making it a large INF sink would just bum out the people who are already feeling stretched (the ones that don't farm and don't play the market).
Hint for Future posts: It doesn't pay to suggest a big system addition to "solve" another problem. Propose the thing you want, explain why you want it, but don't try to make it the cure to cancer. -
It's never made clear what heats the steam that drives Nemesis devices, but it's pretty obvious from the amounts of power generated, that it's not burning fossil fuels (despite the smoke stacks). Technically speaking, modern nuclear plants are "steam powered" so Nemesis could just as easily be using nuclear power.

I know a lot of people who don't like Thermal Shields (they're still a source of graphics slowdown to a lot of people). I also know people who really object to certain color choices on certain buffs.
Point is, you can't predict what people will object to. Better to give us the robust accept/decline/delete system people have been asking for for a long time before we consider mass buff applications that people may not want. -
My hope for a cold weather zone has always been more realistic. No need to travel, no need to have impossible arctic areas in Rhode Island. Do something that's actually plausible in a world of superscience.
Anyone who knows a little about civil engineering knows that the Rogue Isles really aren't big enough to have enough fresh water for the number of people on them. So how could Lord Recluse get a ready source of fresh water and allow for more easy increases in his population?
Giant Floating Icebergs.
Cool stuff can happen in Iceberg Islands. Strange Sea critters attracted to the area by the change in temp. Strange things trapped in the Ice (where does the Lord of Winter go?). Longbow and Legacy Chain trying to slow down the Arachnos Ice harvesting.
All kinds of ideas, up to and including floating territory. -
Too many people who don't want certain buffs, and I'd hate to subject them to a Yes/No popup every couple of minutes.
The only way I'd be behind a change like this is if we were given a robust system to accept/decline/delete buffs as desired. -
Short of copying from your other machine, or installing from a disk, not really.

Unless you took breaks, you seem to have been playing long enough that every character should have a veteran respec.
-
Same holds true for AE files. However depending on the files, this isn't a good idea when there's differences between the Test build and Live.
-
Yes. As long as you don't have an Crab tree powers picked, you won't have a pack.
-
I'd actually like at least one proc. Something that gave a 5% chance that you can attack while phased, or attack a phased target (depending on the scope of the power).
If not a proc, maybe the final bonus, so that someone was obligated to slot the power and take the full set to get what is obviously a strong bonus. -
Corruptors have more base damage, Defenders have better buffs and debuffs. Since the amount of mitigation in Kinetics isn't high, I made the choice to go with the AT that made better use of the buffs with less reliance on the heal, in short corruptor.
Part of that was because I already had a Kinetic Defender and Kinetic Controller though. -
It's not really any easier to my mind. There's still only one villain mission with Outcast bosses, and that mission still only spawns 3-4 of them on a full team. Nothing has really changed, except you can do it without a big team. If you're doing it through Ouro though, resetting the mission becomes harder.

Quote:Thanks for telling me how awesome you are. Doesn't change my point in the least, but I'm sure your mom must be proud.o.o then I'd refer you to my plethora of ORIGINAL bug reports in i16 open beta. Not once did I repost an already reported bug (Was on early so mine were all unreported... then people kept flooding the bug report thread with the same thing I found and it was a mess u.u). I also helped verify something for someone. Also, find ways to break things... A year ago or so I figured out how to kill RWZ dummies and citizens and have notified Castle of the methods. Castle then stealth nerfed the way to kill RWZ dummies with the MM pet attack speed recharge change. I am, to my knowledge, the first to realize that Maneuvers is bugged on teammates/pets in PvP zones as it misses several of the defense values on targets not yourself. Two years ago, I found a little bug that made PBAoEs hit less targets than they should. Found that when I noticed a Cone of the same radius hit more targets when the mobs were perfectly aligned and immoble. The missed mobs were at the very edge of the PBAoE.
O.o
My point stands. It doesn't matter how good you are there are people who are just as good or better or worse in there right now, finding stuff just like you would. The system works. When I get in to be part of it, I help. When I don't get in, I trust the people who did to do just as well without me.
The process has been demonstrated time and again to work this way. It's also been demonstrated not to work well when done in the way you suggest above. Can't argue with facts. -
Interesting idea, but here's the main flaw: If the game hasn't been tracking something, it's usually impossible to figure it out. Chances are, the Date created hasn't been stored anywhere. Older characters would end up with a Birth date equal to date the feature get's implemented.

Probably the same thing that happened to the Hero tutorial when the villain one was added. Nothing.

Quote:So do all "drop" powers. Becomes exceptionally handy in lots of ways:Also, Wormhole works around corners, through walls, etc. Quite useful for isolating a boss when you gank all his friends away.
- Shield Charge up through a catwalk into a spawn above you
- Recall friend to drop someone in the spawn in the same way.
- remote nukes (rain of arrows) are flat out unfair.
- Carrion Vines is like a joke that never gets old. -

Quote:At some point, Test will have the current Live build (usually at the time they close a branch). Probably at that point, people who don't have GR will not be able to make new DP DS characters, but should be able to use any they still have made.that's not what i meant. i just meant when it went in to open beta again, or when it is just the regular test server. not now since i know it is CB
Alternatively, since Test doesn't link to the Commerce server in the same way as Live, it's possible they will treat GR like they do Slot upgrades, and all accounts will have access on Test. That's unlikely though, since it would mean people would get to play all the GR content simply by playing on Test all the time. -
It wasn't intended as an insult. If you took it as such, that's just your own issue.
It's a valid comparison from what I remember of reading your posts, and compared to the people I know and remember from past Closed Betas. I didn't say you'd do worse, I said you wouldn't do better. There's a difference.
Besides, if you're going to dish it out by implying you somehow know you'd be better than the people who made it, then you should be able to hack being told you probably wouldn't.
