Quote:Recruit by doing something other than standing in the zone broadcasting. It is disgusting that even during Halloween, nobody cares about the Banner/Deadly Apocalypse event! How do we increase participation?

Quote:This I agree with. I will give the mutant stuff a look because it would be nice to have some more understated vapor aura choices, but they seem a bit similar to what we have. The mutant stuff doesn't look that appealing from the trailer (auras seem similar to ones we already have), but the stuff for the other origins ranges from cool to genuinely inspired.
The capes have less interest for me than the auras, but I'm sure I'll use both and I look forward to seeing what the really accomplished costume designers do with the capes. -
Quote:As point of clarification:Ok, I checked the search engine for this question.
My wife and I had a pair of toons that had the leveling pact broken. The toons were made with GR, and they have not lapsed accounts. All I can figure is that we can only have one leveling pact per account at the same time. Should we /bug it and see if we can get it fixed, or is it working as intended?
/bug it so the dev team can fix it generally.
/petition it so the GMs can fix your specific pact for you and your wife.
Bug Reports are filed for review by QA, not put in the action queue for GMs. GMs can easily fix your pact for you and your wife, but you need to file the right kind of report so they will. -
When it comes to what pops out of the door, ToT isn't any different than last year. May be different than the last time you did it, but hasn't been changed this year.

Quote:I don't see any functional difference in the power itself. Just difference in the Grant Condition and the Duration Timer. That's weird, as those codes are permanent, right? I would've thought the game would recognize them as different from the temp Halloween ones.
If all powers in a category are flagged to work, how you got one isn't really relevant (i.e. Ice powers putting out Steel Canyon Fires) -
Quote:The likelihood of that is low. It's the company's official position that Satellite internet and it's inherent latency is what's to blame in connecting and playing, and there's not much they can do about that.More like just hate having satellite to connect with. Over 3 Hours and still no connection. And yes i do have multiple Updaters open. Maybe by the time the event is over I'll be able to play. Save me Some treats.
Would be nice if they would make the Updater more Satellite friendly.
"Fixing" the updater to have more forgiving tolerances would just give more people the hope that satellite is ok for gaming, when in a lot of cases it isn't -

The timer you're rushing against doesn't stop at Mission complete. Waiting for the "Clockwork Arrival" is what I'm speaking of.

Quote:People are arguing that 5 capes and 10 auras "isn't enough" without stopping to take a look at qualitative concerns. Even though this argument is fundamentally a qualitative one (do you like the pieces enough to buy them) people are defending that position (or positing the trend) in a quantitative fashion.Yeah I thought so as well.
But I'm not too certain about comparing just numbers. For example if an issue provides an invert gladiator shoulder pad or inverted robotic arm or just a new pattern for lower body thights, booster offers one detailed chest piece or helmet, or vice versa.
At this point it'd be 1:1, but the other costume option is of higher quality in a way.
My advice is don't get bogged down in qualitative issues. Each costume piece is going to have a totally different set of validating factors for each user. Since people are choosing to argue about numbers, stick to the numbers, and treat everything equally. I feel like that will average things out between generally useful and marginally useful items.
Better to be comprehensive than to cherry pick. -
Quote:Patrol XP either negates debt or adds 50% to any earned xp while you have it.This is "Patrol XP" which is also used as a debt-buffer, not actual XP which is a level bumper.
Correct?
Or am I reading it wrong?
It's basically done this way so you have to play to get the benefit, not just be auto-leveled. -

Quote:God I hate those books.I've got one. Spoilers for the books I'm talking about in the next paragraphs.
Darken Rahl from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. Classic but not classy bad guy. He's made pacts with the lord of the underworld, convinces children to fall in love with him, kills them by feeding them hot molten lead, and then uses their tortured souls to traverse the afterlife. That is just some of what he does to other people. Richard, his son (unbeknowst to either since Richard is a **** child), is captured during his quest to stop him, tortured to the brink of death several times, and finally has a spell cast on him that makes his friends only see him as their enemy. It is much more detailed than that and that is just the first book. The next book Darken Rahl comes back from the grave, places a curse on Richard which will drag him into the hellish, darkest regions of the underworld, basically right next to the Keeper of the Dead, and continues trying to destroy the world. -

Correct. It's a minor difference, but important.

Quote:If you change it in the Costume screen (weapons) it counts as a costume. But I don't know what to do with the power customization options. I had this discussion before as far as I can recall. Some people say they're costumes, some don't. Then again the power customization excludes some ATs. :/
If you change it in the power customization screen, it doesn't.
That's a simple and technical way to go about it, and even if some people don't agree stylistically, you have a firm methodology. -
Technically speaking the first paid booster was the CoH Collector's edition Item pack.

You came up with a great list. I saw it and I agree. That's not the same thing as what I'm saying though. The main thing people are arguing here is a trend. A list doesn't demonstrate one way or the other. A graph with accurate counts of all free/paid changes would, because then you could determine a trendline.

Quote:it's annoying and we should not be forced to take a power that we may not want. if you can't change this then provide 6 enhancement slots that are "locked in" instead of 1. also, do the same thing for boxing or kick when chosen from the fighting pool, not both.

The wording is a bit vague, but it looks like a power with 5 charges, and 5 bars of Patrol xp each time. I haven't read other threads on this, I don't know if you can burn all 5 charges at once and have 2.5 levels or bonus xp saved up, or what.

Quote:Then to you I say the same I've been saying to everyone else who feels that way in these threads. Prove it. It's not that complicated a thing to count and graph each release on a timeline and demonstrate this decline you "feel" is something genuine. However I do not agree that the rate has been the same all the time coming up until this current point.
No one's done it yet. They just like to trust vague memories and even vaguer assertions about what that means for the future.
