Quote:And how long between cov and preatoria??? And preatoria only goes to 20ish.TF's may be lost on you, but I'd say that they rather firmly fall into the 'real content', as you so nicely put it, category.
There are 2 new story arcs, and a bunch of tip missions. And you could consider Ramiels arc regular content as well, since there is nothing preventing you from playing it.
I don't see how you can say that there wont be any 'real content' anymore based on what we have seen past year. There's been nothing but 'real content'.
To me, preatoria has been the only real content added since cov. Everything else has been small scale. IMO. So how long til preatoria goes to 50?
Yes, this is my opinion. Sorry if it upsets you! Lol -
I paid whatever I had to to make my stuff!
-
Would just be even more people flocking to the FotM's, more 50's running around that can't play their toons well, and being able to do this would make the game champions 2.....how'd that game turn out?
Anyways, bad idea IMO. -
I have no issue with the incarnate stuff, haven't tried it yet tho. Like alot of others, I prefer leveling toons, rather than playing my 50's.
Personally, I'd rather see them concentrate on more content, like extending Preatoria all the way to lvl 50, or some other new "regular" content. I go at my own pace and afk alot, so tf content is mostly lost on me personally. Sadly tho, I see the next while being dedicated to incarnate development, rather than new content....too bad, IMO. The direction the game seems to be going is more focused on effects and powers and reskinning, which I feel is a shame, sorry to say. I doubt we will see alot more real content in Coh. -
K, I'm back.....
I know it is hard to get people to unanimously agree about anything in a forum, but I don't see the big deal in the difficulty settings actually doing as it implies? Many have said this new stuff is easy and many have said it is hard. No one is wrong, cause everyones experiences differ. Some like a huge challenge and others want it to be a bit simpler....to each their own. Why can't the difficulty be set to fairly easy or to seriously tough? Then everyone is happy? I personally like a challenge and am willing to keep at something for awhile to finish it....at least until I have had enough, then I may like to lower the difficulty and move on.
How does it hurt anyone if there is an easier setting to get through some things for people who are frustrated or have a toon not equipped to deal with a certain situation? I see no harm in it myself.
That is all I am saying. I am not trying to debate weather the devs should make things harder or easier, just saying let the player set their own pace. This is (sorry to bring it up) just a game, meant for entertainment....let people play it how they wish. What one person does with their game experience should not affect anyone else. I think this covers many other forum topics as well! It's a game, who cares how someone else chooses to play it. -
Quote:I second this advice! My DB/SR brute is capped to all 3 types and I took elude.....and aside from the end boost, which is erased when you crash...and maybe fall if you are in a fight, I find no difference defensively! I will be respeccing out of it pronto! In one of your above posts, OP, you mention taking all secondary powers. I am here to dissuade you from taking your final power in your secondary. Elude is virtually worthless on a fully capped /SR toon. Sure, the +end component is a little nice, but the crash that comes with it is not so hot. If your defenses are already capped, this power really doesn't do much for you.

Quote:You are agreeing with me then? Io's are now a must have to be competitive in the end-game. And while of course you don't have to get them, you will be gimping yourself terribly without them. (before anyone gets the wrong idea, I am not whining....I have a few toons than can cake walk almost anything in the game...so I am not saying it is too hard....I just can see where people are coming from...I have toons with just SO's too, and frankly, they suck compared to my toons with sets)You don't have to farm for them at all or even put any extra effort beyond playing in a team.
I've never farmed a thing in this game and all of my toons have pretty decent IOs and IO sets, and they all got them from the inf they made from TFs and teams.
End-game content is optional but if you chose the option to actually play it, then don't be surprised that you have to actually put some effort into it. Everything good will cost you, and it's not always going to be just money.
Then I can see why some people want certain things made easier. The OP obviously has little trouble getting through content, but.....others who have no interest in the supposed optional invention system may find things quite hard.
So in leaving this thread, I will have to agree with what ZombieMan pointed out....the devs will datamine and make the nessassary adjustments to difficulty. The game has to remain fun for the masses, not to hard or to easy....they have to find the middle ground. Tho again, If people are finding the alpha unlock arc way too hard, even on -1/x1, then something isn't right. The people that want more of a challenge can up the difficulty as much as they want, but on -1/x1, it should not be that hard. (thi maybe more boring....but to each their own)
Jmo -
And people wonder why people farm? Lol
Gotta get loot for those shineys, so I can play the end-game stuff.
So the io's are optional argument is over! They are not. -
Too often now in the forums I see people debate what is hard or what isn't......I think people are losing sight of something....
The whole IO and Invention thing is supposed to be "optional".....but is it really? For some of the newer content?
So, is all the content being added do-able with SO's only?? If so, great! Keeping in mind you can set your difficulty for -1/x1 or to +4/x8. That alone should cover the realm....can anyone do -1/x1, cause they should be able too. And those who want more challenge, or have sets up to their eyeballs, can increase their difficulty to a challenging level.
So, is it true that at -1/x1 with SO's only, anyone can do just about anything? If not, then it would seem IO's are not really optional perhaps?
And anyone complaining that anything is too easy, is just blowing smoke! Play at +4/x8 and tell me it is too easy? And if it truely is, get rid of your sets and see how it works? lol
Anyways, my point to this rambling is this, yes, I think some things are being made in this game with an "a good IO'd toon can do it" attitude, and they said they would not do that. Didn't they?? I have a few 50's I expect to do this stuff with, with no trouble...yes, they have sets....but my old elec/elec blaster with just SO's, from what I have read anyways, will not do too well!
I personally think everyone should be able to find a difficulty setting they are happy with and succeed in this game, weather they want it easier, or harder. And if it is still too easy for some, or too hard for some, then something needs to be looked at. Otherwise, why is there a difficulty setting at all. In my opinion, it should work like this, ANYONE should able to do anything at -1/x1 (tho it may get boring quick), and +4/x8 should be near impossible for almost anyone. That is how the range of difficulty should go........IMO
P.S. Preatoria not having a fateweaver/field analysts is a load of fudge!!! So many said it was too hard or too easy, but we had no way to adjust it for our own tastes! -
I have a DB/SR brute at 39 and climbing...
I found life around this level getting tougher, so I dropped 300 mil on him in sets and capped melée and ranged defense. And now he's a beast! Even respecced out of aid self ...tho may get it later still. My advice then is to get sets before 50, unless you feel you can wait. I think my 39 to 50 run will be much quicker and less painful with my defense capped now tho!
300 mil is pretty cheap compared to most builds if you ask me! Why SR is nice! -
I mostly solo and the bane wins hands down, no contest! I've got both builds, they are both good for certain things, but the bane is gettin sets first for sure! Heavy teaming, I would say crab.
And yes, I sure hope they fix it so my bane doesn't have those useless arms on him! -
I know with enough inf, almost anything can be made good.....but I just deleted a 37 claws/ea. I had my smashing/lethal defense pretty high with a few sets, but with all those psy arachnos, I wad getting way too beat up for a brute, in my books anyways. So he is gone now.
Just my 2 cents on EA -
Ever since I got my first villain to 50 (dm/Inv brute).....I doubt I'll ever make another scrapper!!! Love the fury mechanic, vs unreliable criticals. Especially awesome from 1 to 22! Any combo is a breeze, I find! (to 22....after that their are some combos I dislike.)
-
Quote:Didn't know that! Mine turned 50 recently....aura nice for some attention for fury, but I'd still not prefer to tank with SR...at least not as long as their are better sets to use for it. But that's just me. Not saying they can't tank, just that some other sets would be better. I'll use my dm/Inv (capped to most stuff) for tankin. But knowing now SR has an aura for brutes, I can drop taunt!Only Brute/SR/Evasion has a taunt aura. Scrapper/SR/Evasion does not.
Thanks! -
SR has a taunt aura??
Personally, I don't try tanking with SR, cause if you do take some big hits....yer droppin like a sack of potatos! But that's just me! Invulnerable for tankin for me! -
Never thought I'd say this....til I leveled one.....but I say DB/SR would work good! And it's pretty!
-
I deleted a claws/elec at 40....I didn't have io's, but without them he was one of the squishiest brute or scrapper I ever had....claws having low mitigation and elecs heal such a long recharge. I know io's would help alot, but decided he wasn't worth the investment.
Just my experience with the set.,..opinions will no doubt vary. -
Any defense based toon will feel squishy until you io it and cap defense. Aid self can help too! My SR brute is capped and he's one of my most survivable toons!
And he is dual blades, so not much mitigation either! If you are SS or stone, or another good mitigation set, you are even better off! (gonna get phase shift myself, when Fitness becomes inherent.....just in case!) -
Awesome!!! lol
OP, I am a fairly casual player....and the best I can do is what some people suggested....I get the best sets I can and live with that....and I do agree....the same exact toon as mine, decked out with purples and PvP IO's is probably not all that greater.....not worth what it cost them, to me anyways. So I am content with my "ok" sets and grind the tips to make my cash.
So, if you ask me.....I agree with your timeline on getting all those "best" IO's.....so I will have to just say, in my opinion....guys like you and me are simply SoL!(unless you wanna play the market....cause that is the only way your gonna get that kinda cash)
Gonna have to learn to deal with it. But really, a SG friend has the same BS/Regen toon as me( his all purpled and PvP IO'd out) , as an example, and he face plants about as often as i do (with middle of the pack sets)....so let them have their 2bil enhancements.....get yourself some decent sets that you can afford, and just enjoy the game. -
I do think this happening on virtue is hilarious tho! Lol
If I ever have a chunk of inf I don't need, you guys can have it! Lol -
Quote:I commend his effort then! Seriously, even bought prestige, that is still impressive! He must burn a lot of inf buying prestige! Lollol - you DO realize, that the 88's Chapter on Guardian is ... One Guy,
and he's already in the Top 100 there, right?
GL if he gets any help at all from those of us on Virtue...
Cheers,
4
And good luck in the climb! If he passed us, he's gonna have to keep burning that inf tho, we're very active! -
Catch us if you can 88's......A Faction of Dark Tomorrow, #3 on Guardian....the old fashioned way only.....smashing baddies!
-
Amazing! Lol
You can post a thread about anything in these forums, even one that says mammals need oxygen to live, and a fight will break out! I find that both sad and hilariously entertaining! Lol
I knew it was a bad idea to post in the market section of the forum, since I am not a markteer myself!
Bye! -
Btw.....read the whole thread before you attack. That is always a good idea!
You said I want the good stuff and I want to pay less? (you even put that in caps).....if you read the whole thread, you would have learned that i am one of the "iwantitnao" people and usually pay top dollar for my stuff......so you are quite wrong there.
Also, yes....sellers do set the prices, don't blame the buyers. Just cause people ARE willing to pay the big bucks, doesn't mean the seller has to ask big bucks. You can always sell anything, even pvp and purple io's for a buck....and voilà....the prices all drop for everything.
