Who overpaid on Alchemical Gold and how much did you pay?
While that's commendable of you, the people who frequent this forum are more likely to have posted in TheMarket something along the lines of "Oops, I just bid 10 mil each on a stack of 10 Alc Gold." followed by some laughing at their expense, and everyone being over it 10 minutes later.
The people who are going to feel the loss the most probably don't come here, if they even post on the forums at all.
There's also the possibility that someone did it deliberately: Alc Golds have been spiking really high lately, and someone with scads of cash may have decided to pay the high price without checking to see if the low price was available, because they feel that their time is more valuable than a few (million) Inf.
There's also the possibility of it just being a random "gift". I know several people who will just randomly add a bunch of extra zeroes to an item, in the hopes that a lowbie or new player wins the lottery and catches that sale.
Ultimately, I doubt anyone will claim it. Enjoy your windfall, and don't feel bad about it.
@Roderick
Heck, the way the market has been fluctuating lately it may not have been a mistake!
I paid whatever I had to to make my stuff!
I almost overpaid for the alchemical gold i needed. Then my brain power kicked in and I went to look in inventory of an alt. It is ridiculous how the market has been. oh well, I guess we all have to deal with it.

Will you give me a refund if I tell you how much I over paid for my muffler?

I believe it was 10 for 14M a piece or 10 for 10M a piece don't remember
I will give this one more day I guess. Fools errand that it was.
I tried to bid 100,001. I spent 1,000,001.

I wanted to bid 100,001 but accidentally typed in 36,715,431.
*yawn*
I sold X amount of Alchemical Gold.
I received X amount of Inf for it. |

I sold 5 Alchemical Gold.
I received over 700,000,000 Inf for it.
Seven hundred million is a number I expect most people would notice missing. That is about 140 million for each Alchemical Gold. About 1,000 times what you might expect to pay. I also expect it wouldn't be easily laughed off. If it had just been 10 million I would have felt bad for the bidder but forgotten about it because there is no way to find the person.
Since hundreds of millions were involved I thought there was a chance one of the regulars here would be the one to have made the mistake. You guys are not the only people with cash but it wasn't a complete fools errand to look here. I had to make an effort in this situation.
I am very pleased the serious trolling and obvious dishonesty was minimal. It speaks well of our community overall.
Anyway; I am not sure what I am going to do with this. It is easily twice as much Inf as I have made on my own. I have not spent it. I also did not give exact numbers above. Just in case.
I say invest that money into the build you always wanted! For me it was a Permadom that I just finished about a week ago. Good times and well worth the effort.
Seven hundred million sounds like a lot until you try to buy stuff. It will get me three or four sets for one character. Out of close to twenty powers I guess?
It really doesn't do me that much good, especially since I jump between too many characters. And I feel bad about the way I got it.
[Not a contest. There will be no 'winner'. It may be that there is no resolution to this. Greedy trolls please don't even read past this point.]
No where else to ask.
I logged in a character that I had not played in about 10 days. I checked the market because I was notified of sales.
I sold X amount of Alchemical Gold.
I received X amount of Inf for it.
I feel this sale was a mistake on the buyers part. It just isn't worth what I got, and if there is a creditable reply I am willing to return the proceeds.
If you messed up in the Market reply here.
