  2. I have made Fire Armor toons in the past and I just can't seem to figure out how to IO them. I can never hit soft caps in defense to melee or smashing/lethal without making sacrifices to other areas that make the toon less fun. So I try light defenses with extreme recharge and I'm not real sure I like that. What kind of #'s do you guys like to hit, obviously you can't make the set take damage like other beefier sets, it's about damage, but still I feel like I don't know what I should be aiming for.
  3. This is my build, I definitely agree that this combination of powers tends to lean towards a ranged playstyle.

    My main points were soft-capping ranged def 46%, and getting perma Hasten, PA, CS, without going spiritual cause I wanted cardiac as this combo is end heavy. I worked out to 225% rech or so, I forget the total there is some kind of bug in Mids that breaks my rech total when I open the build.

    I also just really like to have fireball so I went fireball over going a route that would net me Powerboost. I don't really see the need since like I said this combo very ranged. I also will be going clarion so I will not be needing IW for mez protection.

  5. I always like to random roll in mass. The experience is always fun and has all, but once been equivalent to selection, or better.
  6. Thinking about upgrading my memory, just too tech ignorant to know if I am gonna run into any major problem in doing so. I am looking at getting 8GB of G-Skill DDR3 1600 on my Asus M3N72-D mother board. I'm worried about getting the RAM then needing to replace the mobo to use it.

    I think you under estimate the market storage as well. I know I personally do not store my money on 51-53 IOs, rather I have something like 15 bids out on Glad Armor uniques a 1B a piece. I figure if one ever sells for 1B I lucked out and I can resale for profits or it will stand as a perfectly suitable storage mechanism. I'm quite sure others do the same at 2B considering even the most desperate for instant cash can find a buyer for a Glad unique at 2.5B which is a substantial profit off 1 sale.

  9. Don't take my word as gospel here, but I'm never a fan of relying on adding a lot of set bonus def to a set that has no def in it for farming mobs that can debuff your def. If you are talking about the map I think you are I'm pretty sure those guys do some def debuff. Just in general though, if the set you take has zero access to def from the actual set, then I'm more for adding HP. I think trying to get a /fire scrapper closer to 1800-2000HP would be more helpful than dedicating it to melee def.

    I experienced the let down of general squishiness from my spines/fire as well. I made would day 1 of whatever issue it was that brought /fire to scrappers full of optimism. Long story short, a couple days after IOing my 50 spines/fire I rolled and spines/dark and never switched back, /dark costs money to make work, but it excels at both killing and surviving.
  10. So far I've made a Fire/Cold, Fire/Storm, Rad/Therm, Ice/Rad, and I was looking to make a new Corr with a blast set that I haven't used yet. So Dark, AR, Elec, and Nrg were my options. I hate the wholeconcept of AR so that is completely out the window, elec is such low damage that I'm just not that interested. Dark and Nrg are the two that I'd consider, but I already have a rad/dark def so figured Nrg would be a nice go around.

    However I'm looking at 2ndries and I can't really think of one where the KB doesn't seemingly noticably hurt the strengths of the 2ndry. Rad toggls flying all over, baddies flying out of Freezing Rain/Sleet/Tar Pit. Pretty much the only set I could think of that wouldn't be noticably hurt by the KB are Therm since the AoE debuff is an opening attack that will stay on the opponent, Pain for the same reason, and Kin cause after FS mob position isn't too important. Am I over exaggerating this at all? My previous thought on Nrg had always been that it was a bad set for Corrs and Defs cause their ATs couldn't generate enough damage out of the attacks to make the KB forgivable, and the KB would often be more detrimental than the benefit of the damage the powers were doing on teams. Should I just save my interest in nrg blast for a blaster or like I asked am I over exaggerating?

    -Floored enemy to-hit, res, and def with RI and EF toggles

    -Heals to go around

    The sonic provides

    -Mez protections

    -Res shields which on a team with tons of -to-hit is more helpful than def

    -More res debuffs


    Primaries wouldn't really matter although with /Rads I would suggest at least 1 person takes dark for tentacles immobilize.
  12. My Fort is an AoE build, and I'm soft capped in Melee and Range Def without ML, then soft capped in AoE Def with ML.

    Major differences is I don't use Confuse/Total Domination/Assualt(pool version)/Vengance

    I do have Dark Obliteration/Psi Tornado/Mask Presence/Spin

    Dark Obliteration is nice, I love targeted AoE's and one that debuffs to-hit is even better.

    Psi Tornado is solid targeted AoE Damage with nice mitigation in its knockup.

    Mask Presence allows me to get crits off Spin as my opener.

    I hit aim jump in the middle of a mob spin + Dark Obliteration + Psi Tornado then go to work with ST attacks on LTs and Bosses.

    So I threw together what I thought would be a pretty nice build

    I went for basically 3 things

    -Insane recovery 3.51 end/sec

    -Respectable defense 23% Melee 22% Range (to pair with Cloak of Fears -to-hit)

    -Minimal use of end in toggles
