  1. I hang out in the E area though I dip into the F area when a new character hits 50 >.>
  2. What side do you pick more than others?
    Hero/Blue side with an occasional foray into Praetoria (though I'd make more Praetorians if I wasn't locked out of joining a supergroup and earning prestige till lvl 20.)

    What play style do you prefer?
    Ranged typically with some level of control (time manip and dark miasma have holds for example)... I do have a few melee types too though.

    What power set(s) do you favor?
    I'm not particular enamored with any specific set. I am more married to concepts and try to pick the powers that fit the concept. That said I DO favor bright palettes. Powersets without a bright palette option are downers to me.

    What zones do you like the most?
    Atlas Park, Faultline, Talos Island, First Ward

    Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
    I play a fairly even mix of genders. Typically in other games I play females because males tend to be ugly or neanderthal-ish looking. City of heroes is one of the few games where making a handsome looking male character is an option.

    Views on Role Playing?
    I don't actively roleplay myself but if I am in a group where people are doing it I can easily go with the flow.

    Servers?
    Pretty much Guardian with a few scattered alts around.
  3. I'm a tier 9 VIP who bought every box set over the years... and even I would have a tough time giving up VIP status...

    VIP gets you access to a lot of content you'd otherwise have to pay to unlock as a premium.

    Things I'd have to unlock if I gave up VIP?


    Hero and Villain Epic Archetypes

    First Ward content (plus any new free for VIP content they add in the future)

    Time Manipulation, Dark Control, Dark Assault, Dark Affinity powersets (plus any new free for VIP sets they add in the future)

    Signature Story Arcs (this is an ongoing series or story arcs added every month so this bit of content is constantly growing)


    Giving up VIP also means I'd completely lose access to:

    Incarnate content with no way of engaging in it unless I go back to being a VIP.

    550 Paragon Points every month as part of being vip so I dont have to spend extra on points to get premium stuff.

    1 reward token every month as part of being vip to spend on consumable tier 9 items

    New tier 9 VIP only Paragon Reward options. (I currently have all of the existing ones unlocked but any new ones added I couldn't get unless I resubbed)

    So all in all if someone at my reward level loses that much... someone much lower on the totem is going to lose alot more. VIP is the best bang for your buck IMO.

    Tights!

    I'd like to see "tops with skin" tights also have "sleek" versions and options for various patterns (with cut outs where the selected tights option has cut outs) so that I can have a broader palette of color when working with the "with skin" options
  5. this actually sounds like a great idea

    but keep in mind... your influence gain would drop if you began gaining xp again. Not that most people would care about that... just figured i'd point that out.
  6. I'd vote for a illusion/storm/fire with Teleport for a wizard type character... a variety of elemental and illusory powers seems thematically appropriate
  7. Ultimately the tokens address a number of things:

    1) If I want to make a Nictus character who is a villain from the get go I can use these tokens to do so without being some silly do gooder for 20 levels. Vice versa for soldiers of arachnos

    2) If I don't give a flying fart in space about RP or anyone else idea's about RP and I just want to unlock the PPP's and grab some badges I can now pay money to do so. Someone else's feelings on me doing that? IRRELEVANT.

    Number 2 is the biggie. I play how I want to play and NO ONE has the right to tell me otherwise so long as I am abiding by the game's EULA. If the devs want to put these tokens on the market to make a lil extra money and make life a bit more convenient for people? I say more power to 'em.

    I'm actually seeing stuff added/tweaked on bases after how many years? Yea thats market money doing that and anything that adds to the game (whether content or convenience) and generates more for the company is FINE BY ME.

    I'll take what I can get. Just the fact that we are seeing ANY attention WHATSOEVER given to bases is a nice change of pace and I won't be unappreciative of it.

    With Freedom's launch, and some time gone by for revenue to accrue from the new model, we've been seeing little quality of life things being added to bases... things that were considered low hanging fruit for years!

    I'm hoping to see more things for bases in the future... perhaps even a complete overhaul of the base system itself!
  9. Also of note... the old dark astoria base beacon now takes you to the "echo" version... with a NEW BASE BEACON for the the revamped Dark Astoria now available!

    Get your exploration badges once i22 goes live for convenient access from your base! I was not able to test if villain groups can get the beacon as well but I'd be surprised if they couldn't

    I haven't checked any other "broken" beacons yet but the Pocket D one's graphic is fixed!

    While Mind Link doesn't accept recharge enhancements it's recharge CAN be enhanced. So long as that isn't changing I would imagine that the Hami-O will still work as it currently does for Mind Link. The recharge portions of the to-hit and defense IO sets do enhance the recharge of Mind Link so it is likely that Hami-O will still do so as well.

    The patch notes specifically say: Hamidon, Synthetic Hamidon, Titan and Hydra Enhancements will no longer incorrectly enhance attributes other than those specified by the enhancement.

    SPECIFIED BY THE ENHANCEMENT is the key phrase here. If the hami says it enhances recharge then mind link will get a recharge boost from it. It's the whole "defense debuff also buffs defense using the defense debuff schedule which is higher" thing that is fixed.
  12. Know what little thing I love about this issue? KNIVES OF ARTEMIS GET THEIR BUTTS KICKED. I have always hated them... and their new incarnation as the Knives of Vengeance aren't anywhere near as annoying... no ignoring superior invis... no more stacks of caltrops...
  13. In general I go with 4 pieces of Performance Shifter: End, End/Rch, End/Acc and Chance for +End proc.

    it pretty much caps the enhancement of stamina (using lvl 50 versions of the first 3) and the proc (which i slot at lvl 18 using a lvl 21 version) lets you get more out of it beyond ED limits. The set bonuses are also decent... Some movement speed, a nice hp boost and more recovery.

    The only time I seem to vary from this is if a) the character in question has quick recovery (which then gets the slotting I normally use for stamina while stamina just gets 2 lvl 50 IO end mods) or b) the character is just so end efficient and I am in deperate need for more recharge I MIGHT slot the full Efficacy Adapter set. But typically I stick with what I stated above.

    its completely made of legos and splits into the 5 lions and everything! Not only that its about 3 feet tall took 71 hours to build AND each lion has a compartment in its head where one of the pilots can sit

    Or even a blast set primary and control set secondary

    Ideally however if the devs were truly to "go mad" I'd build a character power by power of my choice

    I'd look something like this:

  21. As was touched on in this topic I'd love to see the "robotic arms" categories consolidated into a single new category called "Upper Arms". In this category I'd love to see the new fire & ice arms, the current robotic arms and at the very least a "bare arms" option. This would allow us to use chest pieces that are normally full covering and show some skin! Any new upper arm parts can be added there too! we could see things like the barbarian female "arm bands" moved here allowing shoulder options as well.

  23. On my demon/pain MM I took all the whip attacks and tentacles/soul storm from the PPP... and I couldn't be happier >.>

    I like feeling more proactive offensively. That said... any secondary effects of your offensive powers can be what makes the decision for you. In my case... the whip attacks debuff the foes so my demons do more damage... and the cc effects of the PPP attacks provide some utility I don't have inherently.

    In the case of a bots/trapps MM however I dont see any game changing secondary effects between the primary attacks and the field mastery attacks and you could go either way. I'd prob skip the rifle attacks and just take all the field mastery attacks (if I felt the need to take attacks at all) simply due to the redraw of the rifle.
  24. I'd like the devs to get the idea that "dark = dark color no ifs ands or buts" out of their heads and get the idea "dark = negative energy damage type with a variety of possible looks" in its place.

    I'd absolutely KILL for a soul variant for all dark powers tbh. Soul Storm and Soul Tentacles look awesome.
