Hands down, the one I play the most often these days is my soft-capped DB/SR scrapper. Over 50% defense to melee and ranged and about 47% to AoE IIRC. He pulled off the RWZ challenge on the first try, and there's nothing that makes me giggle with glee more than jumping him into a huge mob like he's a little wannabe tank.
My next strongest is my main, the E^3 blaster, whose HP is capped in his current build. Solos great and on teams is very useful.
My MA/Regen probably comes in 3rd at this point. Very hard to kill her, and definitely a flashy toon to play, just not as flashy as the DB...so she consequently doesn't get played quite as much.
After that, my 2 trollers are tied. Ill/Storm and Plant/Kin, respectively. I love what they can do, and they're a ton of fun to play, but I'll always be a proactive killer at heart with my toons, which is why the scrappers and the blaster tend to get more playtime. If I'm in the mood for running support, however, I will grab one of these trollers without a second thought.
As for my weakest - it's probably a tie between my Necro/Poison MM and my Storm/Dark fender. I adore both toons (which is why they're both still around), but in the MM's case, it's so much micro-managing, I really can't play her for long stretches, and as for the fender, her battlecry is "OW!" or "Not in the face!" To be fair, though, neither of those toons has the benefit of the IOs that my stronger toons have, and neither of them is a 50 (the MM is 45ish the fender is 36), so my opinions on them may change as they progress over time. -
So sorry to hear you're leaving...but hey, like others have said, maybe the break will recharge your batteries and leave you wanting some superhero goodness and a beer with some of us drunkards.
Good luck to you! You'll be missed. -

In another thread like this, someone had heard "AFK - cat's on fire."
That has to be the best one yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
They probably heard it from me. I've used it. True story. I have 2 deaf cats - one with long hair and one with short hair. The long haired one decided to get up on the end table near the computer where I had some candles lit. He walks past them, flicking his tail back and forth, and lit it on fire. Then he stands there, looking at me, oblivious to the fact that his tail is now engulfed in flame, and even more oblivious to my screaming at him in panic while frantically typing "AFK - cat's on fire" during a TF (I think it was a Posi).
Long story short - he's fine. No permanent damage other than his tail didn't look so pretty for a few weeks and a smell that lingered in the house (and my nose) for longer than I would have liked it to. -
Personally, I don't ever delete a 50. Nostalgia and bull-headedness keep me coming back to them. I figure I've put all that time and work into them, they're sticking around. Then again, I have a hard time deleting any toon that made it past level 20...though there have been a couple, and I've regretted it more often than not.
I've played on other servers (have a couple toons on Triumph and Justice), mostly cuz friends have SGs on those servers, but I'm on Pin 99% of the time. And I've ponied up the cash for extra slots to stay on Pin most of the time.
Remember, too, you do get vet slots occasionally if you don't mind holding out for them.
Good luck with whatever you decide! -

My dad is hard to put a finger on, and we don't always see eye to eye. In fact, truth be known, it hasn't been until recently that my dad and I have had any kind of real relationship. He can be extremely loyal and caring, and then, for what seems no reason, can cut your feet right out from under you.
Through it all, even though we've had quite a few misunderstandings and harsh words, I've learned that no matter how much button pushing my dad and I do back and forth, that he continues to surprise me in just how much he genuinely cares. He just has a funny way of showing it more times than not.
If I had to attribute him to one hero, Rorschach from The Watchmen actually fits him pretty well. He was the victim of a not-so-pleasant upbringing, could (if need be) make a weapon out of darn near anything at his disposal, is quite the little scrapper (my dad's 5'7 and has extensive martial arts training), and will not, under any circumstances, compromise his morals or ethics for anyone or anything. He also says what needs to be said, as blunt as it may be.
And even though we've had our rough patches, I love my dad for all of these traits. I am half of him, after all. -

[Edit]
Took a more close look at your build and noticed that you have 7 luck of the gmbler recharge speeds in your build. Unfortunately, you would go over the cap after 5 plus throw in scirrocos dervish and thats another regen over the cap.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Scirrocos aren't in there for the regen - they're there to help get you to AoE softcap. As for the LotG's - sorry I didn't catch that...as I said I put it together rather quickly (and without the benefit of coffee).
It helps that you explained a few things, though a few of your choices still leave me a bit puzzled - but I'm sure that's a matter of playstyle and character concept. I still stand by my comment about slotting your teleport with some Zephyrs for the defense bonuses - and it will also help with the range you were slotting for previously.
At any rate, good luck with your homage. -
Okay, it took me a while to reconstruct your build in mids, but I got 'er done.
Overall, your totals aren't too bad. Good recovery, decent recharge and regen. However, this is where I ask you what you want to accomplish with your toon. Your defense totals are still well below soft-capped, which is one of /SR's biggest selling points as a secondary.
Are you looking to have all the DB combos available to you, or does this really matter? If you don't care about combos, you can drop some of those attacks in favor of picking up some of the fighting pool for tough and weave. Also, in terms of your attacks, be careful not to gimp them with your slotting choices. Slotting so many shield breakers in ablating strike and Adjusted Targetings in blinding feint might work against you. Just something to think about. I personally slotted them as attacks with ToD and Mako's in my own DB/SR.
Pushing stamina off until 22 might not work so well. With those toggles running, and so many attacks by that point, you'll be hurting for end, so I would move it up to 20 and slot it right away (don't wait until 27 and the 40s).
In terms of travel power, I personally haven't seen too many teleporting scrappers, but maybe that's your style. Personally, I took SS on mine, and added combat jumping from the leaping pool for extra maneuverability and defense. As for slotting, if you do stick with teleport, 2 end redux is all you should need, there's really no need to slot it for range. You could also slot some Blessing of the Zephyr if you want to keep that many slots for some additional defense.
Did you take stealth and invisibility because you ran out of choices or for concept? If it's for concept, you can get stealth out of a stealth IO in sprint. And you'll be able to attack with it on, which you can't do with invisibility. This also saves you 2 more power picks for that fighting pool, or even maneuvers, which will give you more defense.
Here's a build I threw together that might help you a bit. It greatly improves your defense totals, while still giving you decent regen and recovery and boosts your recharge quite a bit. Yes, it does skip a couple of attacks, but with all the recharge in the build, you really won't need them. There's the stealth IO in sprint, and some additional end recovery/max end from GoTA in your passives (plus some run speed bonuses for kicks).

Hope this helps! -
I'm actually gonna toss a vote in /Regen's direction. My first scrapper was MA/Regen, and I'll second Starflier's comments that it'll definitely help with the end drain of the set (since you can take QR *and* stamina).
Even though the secondary lacks the recharge component of /SR, I can still make a decent attack chain, and the toon goes through invincible missions like they're candy. And I don't even have her IO'd out yet.
Just a personal preference having played one. I'm sure the other secondaries mentioned are more than fine as well. -
Said it in other threads before, and I'll say it again here. I <3 my DB/SR.
That is all. -
I'll bring the beer...and the pudding pit to entice Jade
-
Elec/Elec/Elec.
Why? Versatility combined with nostalgia - it was my first 50.
In all seriousness, I like how the combination performs. I can sap, damage, control, blap...even have a pseudo-pet if I want. The possibilities keep me coming back to play this toon time after time after time.
As honorable mentions - Fire/Fire and Ice/Ice - I suppose I'm a blaster "purist," but I like matching the primaries and the secondaries. Fire/Fire has ungodly damage output - it's what I play when I want massive amounts of destruction and nothing else. Ice/Ice I like for the same reason I like Elec/Elec - the versatility.
Have fun with whatever you choose. -
Got 2 scraps at 50 (and several more in the 20-30 range). Out of all of them, hands down my DB/SR gets the most play. It was a very tough, and rewarding, road to 50 with him, and I've taken a lot of pride in his build and slotting along the way.
As a scrapper, you'll probably have fun with whatever you choose - so many great sets and combinations thereof...you really can't go wrong. -
Hey Mikey!
Nice to see another Iowegian around. LOL, depending on what part of the state you're from, Claws and Effect and I could take you out for some real beers, not just virtual ones.
Anywho, welcome to the server! Global's @Kresnik 02 if you ever want to chat or team. -
LOL, good thing the only toon I have that still needs these badges is the toon I PvP with. (note, I didn't say PvP WELL, just PvP
)
I'll do my level best in being there...and I promise not to go down without at least blindly swinging some swords at someone. -
I don't think it's useless...as Werner pointed out, it has a lot of style and the ST damage is really pretty decent.
My MA is a MA/Regen, and it used to be my main scrapper. I still play the toon from time to time, as I love her concept. However, she's not my scrapper focus anymore. That went to my DB/SR, not due to a lack of anything on MA/ or /Regen's part; it was simply because I liked the concept behind my /SR's background better.
I still see a lot of MA, both in AP as newly rolled toons and in the late game. I see it paired quite frequently with /WP, /SD and /SR.
As for pros and cons - for me personally, the pros are the flashy style (Eagle's Claw still makes me giddy every time I use it), and the secondary stun. And it's still fun to Crane Kick an enemy over the face of a cliff.
Cons - it's endurance heavy, and a couple of powers have some long animation times.
That's my 2 inf, for what it's worth. -
I've got a couple - 2 arcs, one a continuation of the other.
Story Title: Bloodlines
ID: 40810
Length: Long (3 missions)
Morality: Heroic
Description: A demon assassin, a manufactured girlfriend with homicidal impulses, a crazy estranged uncle with delusions of grandeur bent on world domination, destined ones that chose the wrong path, and zombies. All in a day's work when assisting time traveling royalty.
Enemy Groups: 5th Column & Custom
Difficulty: The feedback thusfar has told me that the bosses (all custom) tend to be on the tough side, and some can't solo them well. My advise would be to bring a team and/or turn your diff down.
What were you drinking when you wrote this?: Coke, energy drinks, maybe a margarita here and there...
Story Title: Bloodlines: Part 2
ID: 176139
Morality: Heroic
Length: Very Long (5 Missions)
Description: The follow-up to Bloodlines (40810). How far would you go to save your daughters? For The Lady Kanga, it would be to the ends of the earth, or rather, the ends of the earth far into the future.
Enemy Groups: 5th Column, Crazed, Crey, Knives of Artemis, Custom
Difficulty: Definitely turn your diff down for this one or bring a team. The first 3 missions aren't so bad...the last 2, however, are on the tougher side due to the boss battles and ambush settings.
What were you drinking when you wrote this?: Energy drinks and various kinds of soda...I'm outta booze atm
If anyone is kind enough to run these arcs, if you choose, leave me feedback with your arc and I'll happily run it and leave feedback and a rating in return. -
It's actually changed my life in a lot of ways.
I joined CoX on my own account back around i5 - I think I rolled my first toon towards the end of i5 so I could get the free respec at i6...something like that anyway. Prior to that, I played here and there on friends' accounts - because all my RL friends played, and they were desperate to get me to play too.
I'm a horribly shy person - at least until you get to know me. I'm not the type that speaks up in conversations (just look at my post count and how often I speak up in channels lol). But I did manage to find a few friends on Pinnacle, friends that didn't care that I was shy, they were going to see that I had fun anyway - they didn't care that I rarely spoke up in team or SG chat.
Over the span of the last couple of years, most of my friends that got me into the game have left the game. That forced me to seek out other teams and make new friends - which was, and is, hard for me with my introverted personality, but good for me as well.
And, during the course of all of this, I hooked up with Claws and Effect. Our relationship started as really good friends and SG mates and progressed from there. I had gone through a messy divorce, and he and Scott Wild were both there for me in times when I would have normally pulled my hair out and retired to solitude. They kept me sane. Claws and I started dating after a time - a 600+ mile long distance relationship to boot. I took the biggest step an introvert such as myself could ever take and moved to be with him. Though, we did end up moving back to my neck of the woods when the job market in Toledo proved to be more of a hassle than it was worth. We got married 3 weeks ago this Saturday.
So, all in all, Pinnacle has given me good times, a husband, and many wonderful friends. And for that, I say "Thank You." -
PinnBadges is still very much active. The others I can't comment on, except for Hami Bound. I was a member of that channel, but it was so dead that I left. Maybe with the rise in raids recently it's being used again, but I haven't rejoined to find out.
-
Woohoo! Gratz Star!
-
Thusfar, issue is rather "meh" for me. Has its good and bad points.
Shields - don't really have an opinion on them one way or the other. Was never a big fan, and I'm still not. Just can't come up with a decent concept to roll one. Tho, seeing all the new shield users running around is pretty cool graphics wise.
Pain - Rolled a new corr yesterday with it and level pacted with my fiance's new brute. 'Twas fun.
Dual Builds - gotta say, I love this. My emp now has a strictly team build and a solo build. And my WS has an all human and a tri form.
Badge interface - this is just freakin' awesome. Prolly the one thing I'm most excited about...now I know what I need for each badge I haven't gotten, and that's pretty sweet. I also like the organization of all the badge categories.
Salvage conversion - Major headache. My SG had loads of salvage stored up, which we've decided to split amongst members for conversion...which is nice on one hand. What it'll do to the market for a while I don't like to think about.
Day Jobs - I sent all my toons to "work" yesterday. Woohoo! I've always told them to get a job.
Bugs and whatnot - As of this morning when I logged in, the tell feature was still borked. I got a message that was: [Tell]:isp. No idea who that came from, no way to reply, and no idea what they were trying to tell me. Friends list, if it's not connected to my chat window, will NOT close, no matter what I do.
There are still quite a few things I need to check out...these are just my initial impression from a brief time online yesterday and today. I'll prolly have a more solid opinion after this weekend. For now, I'm gonna go run some errands then come back and take my little DB/SR into the Call to get ganked. -

Related to subscription time, but not to PayPal, this is my issue: I am tired of recurring monthly charges. I want to pay for the game, I will pay for the game, but I want to pay for it when I visit PlayNC and not have the game automatically charge me. I have bad financial luck two years ago and have gone to paying bills with cash/check rather than automatically charging me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Solution: Activate the account as a monthly charge. After it activates and charges the card, deactivate the account. You will be able to post on the forums and play until your month expires.
You have to do something similar with time cards or switching plans (monthly/6 months/year) or from a card to time card and back.

It's still intangible...which is the problem that NCSoft will face with PayPal's seller protection program in regards to chargebacks or buyer complaints. Even the game download is considered an "intangible" item - it cannot be traced by, say, a US Postal Service tracking number proving that it's been shipped. Just ask all those WoW people who sold gold online and got their money yanked back because their buyer turned out to be a jackhole and said "I never received it."
And no, before anyone asks, I wasn't one of those people.I just happened to work for PayPal several years ago in their Buyer Complaint department, and saw this kind of thing happen routinely. In terms of the digital world, PayPal definitely favors the buyer, not the seller.
