Been on a 4 man brute team before and it was pretty much a steamroller of death
-
He can take it next power.. no biggy :P

Got a themed build going and have just got to lvl 40, was looking at the PPP for ghost Widow and see Soul Tentacles. I refrained from Midnight Grasp as it seemed a bit poor.
Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the two? -
Farm your mobs (play on ruthless) then when they are all beating on you (building rage) kick in Cloak of Fear and start laughing
Also haven't found CoF particularly detrimental to fury building and I run it all the time. -
Cloak of Fear is awesome but it needs slotting with End Redux. When slotted it gives you not only a very cool screaming face aura but also group hold wherever you go. You can jump into a group of badguys and laugh as they cower in fear while you beat the bejesus out of them. Problems with sappers, charge them and watch them cower instead of zapping you.
Works best with AoE primaries but one on one will stop you taking a lot of heat and make your life so much easier. Keep it, slot it, love it.
Nothing funnier than watching a hulking great Freakshow Tank cower in front of you -
Off the top of my head an Ice/Ice, Ice/Kin corrupter or Ice/Rad should do the job nicely, stacked slows and -recharge will have him crying for his mum really quickly.
-
I play my DM/DA brute with 2 Acc, 2 Recharge, 1 End Redux and 1 Damage SO in all attack (except siphon life).
I have experimented with other combinations (including damage) but to be honest find this works best for me. She builds rage really quickly and can take out yellows and orange minions in 3 quick hits. -
With Ice/Rad bosses are not the problem, it's groups.

Leave Dark Regeneration until after you have stamina, it takes away 33% of your Endurance when you use it and pre Stamina Endurance is a very precious commodity for Dark Dark brutes.

true, Dark Regen is end gulching, but imo its the best self heal in the game. When, or if, slotted, it can give you 30% hp to 100% if it just hits a single target near you. very much worth it for a /dark brute, but remember end slotting it

My Dark/Dark has it and when used with Soul Drain, Dark consumption and Death Shroud you feel like a God.
On half hit points and reduced Endurance, run into biggest mob you can find
Hit Soul Drain, the Dark regen and Dark Consumption, watch all the bad guys fall down in a pretty circle and you charge out on full Fury, Health and Stamina glowing like a lightbulb.. never gets old :P -
Leave Dark Regeneration until after you have stamina, it takes away 33% of your Endurance when you use it and pre Stamina Endurance is a very precious commodity for Dark Dark brutes. Take Siphon life instead, it's great fun having a life sucking fight with CoT spectres and works nicely as an attack once you stick a few end reducers in it.
There is something satifing in stealing the last once of life out of an enemy to heal yourself :P
You also appear to of missed out Murkey cloud, this is your only defence against fire, cold, energy and end drain. You need it.
I take it level 18 should read Health instead of Hurdle? -
In hero builder the stated endurance cost of this is 2.6
That seems phenominally high for a toggle (phase shift is only .59 and thats a killer) .. is this a typo and does anyone know the actual cost -

But seriously regens good what with PVP the way it is atm 30% defence dosn't mean a thing when most of the heroes are 2 slotted with acc and running FA and tactics.
I think its time to look at other builds.

but PvP is pretty grossly imbalance in favour of heroes anyway.. tried PvP with my stalker and really didn't like it much.
Heroes epic powers way outclass the PPP and the sheer volume of heroes vs fewer villains makes pvp a pretty dull experience anyway. Maybe 1 on 1 a regen stalker would have fun but this never happens... its always 3 or 4 on 1 and you'll get too much damage too fast to be able to compete. Put that together with the fact that regen heroes get stamina boost and stalkers don't pretty much guaranteeing they'll win in the long run. -
Was wondering the same for my Dark/Dark brutes, was thinking of going Dark (it is after all the characters theme) but they are all pretty poor (especially when compared to corrupters PPP).
-
You never know when that extra 3.5% could save your life
-
I prefer secondaries that give you defence, with a stalker your hide and AS can be interrupted if you get hit. Having a decent defence pool allows you to pretty much hide and placate in full view without worrying about interrupt.
Regen has no innate defense so suffers from interrupts a lot more.
I'd suggest Ninjitsu as it has great defence and some nice tools. -
Dark makes you feel awesome against anything except Mu and Ballistas
-
Best leave Dark Regen until you have stamina with 3 SO's tbh
-
Is Blizzard worth taking, doesn't really seem that much different from Ice Storm except that it has some nasty side effects. (disorientation and no endurance)
-
You need to PvE alot to get upto PvP standard during that time you find..
Mayhem Missions - you cant regen quick enough to survive the police and longbow shooting you.. ergo you die
Standard missions - up until you get Instant Healing you get 1 AS off and then get hit loads of times and die. Also placate will end up being nullified about 40% of the time as the enemy gets a sneaky shot off as you are trying to placate and breaks the hide... ergo you die.
Teams: the greater number of enemies mean you get hit more often - your only defence is to play exclusively hit and run. Should you pull off an AS first the alpha strike hits too easily and (you guessed it) you die.
As a stalker your best friend is defence and avoidance, regen gives you none of these so you constantly find yourself unable to hide or placate.
I got a spines regen stalker upto lvl 34 and deleted it because I got fed up with it. -
Regen stalkers kind of suck tbh

I think Debt should be removed completely from PvP zones, personally, Marquand.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here. Latest change was particularly bad. Now it is not possible to 'save' someone from debt even.
- from someone whose PVP character had 300k+ debt last I checked.

Me to, debt system in PvP sucks -
Fly and Grounded don't play well together
-
I am developing an Ice/Rad character for PvP.. I currently have SJ as I want Acrobatics but was also considering fly for those get out of Dodge quick moments. My PvP play style is RI followed by EF then run inside the cloud and pound to death with ice.. works pretty well but I keep being pwned by multiple scrappers.
Is it worth taking 2 travel powers so I can keep vertical range from scrappers or does the -fly element of many attacks make it a pointless option?
