  1. And perhaps combine a large number of any T2 or higher to get a teamie of one Tier lower.

    @Crab-Mind: That would be awesome!

    Melee/Support AT

I like this Idea, but I would prefer it with the "Buff Fury idea". Maybe this AT could be called "Crusader", or "Commander". Anyway, /Signed.

    Ancient Japan!

BUMP: Okay, I see why some people have issues with an Anime-ish Japanese zone, but I see no problem with it. I mean, just because it's Japan, doesn't mean it's all Anime. Besides, Anime is not a genre so much as an art style, and a surprisingly adaptable one. If you just go out and pick up two random manga at your library (Provided it's well stocked and/or it's not a school library), and you will probably get two very different stories, styles, and feels.

    Sniper AT

    Eh, I see your point.
  6. Kirsten

    Sniper AT

I came up with a general Idea for a new AT:

    The Sniper

This a ranged DPS/Defense AT, somewhat of a cross between a Blaster and a Stalker. It has a lower base damage output, but it gets critical hits while hidden. It has very low HP, but can make up for it with defensive powers.

    Gun Arms?

I like this idea, and I would totally use it. /signed

    Heroic Patrons!

    EATs don't get APPs.
  9. Kirsten

    Heroic Patrons!

@Emperor_Justice: The difficulty with that, story-wise, is that the Heroes wouldn't really have time to train umpteen-thousand heroes. The Patrons have hundreds of thousands of enforcers to do their dirty work while they train people. Excepting Miss Liberty's Longbow and Manticore's Wyvern Soldiers, The heroes are pretty swamped saving the world repeatedly. Thus, organizational training. Perhaps they should be called "Training Pools", But Patron is just the existing name for the most similar sets already in existance.

All in all, it's good to see that you guys like my idea. I'm glad my work did not go unappreciated. If there are any balance issues, Go ahead and tell me. I just want to make it the best suggestion it can be.

    Heroic Patrons!

Bump! Buttload of updates, added Ouro to Co-Ops; Legacy, Wyvern, FP, & PPD to heroes.
  11. I like it, and I would definitely reroll my char with it.
  12. Kirsten

    Heroic Patrons!

But Villains *do* get non-Patron ancilliary pools.
  13. I think this is a great idea. /signed

If Venom's Ideas are added, /triplesigned

    Heroic Patrons!

Well, considering the text for the Vanguard Badge for Vills:

    Villains

Vanguard still values your efforts against the extra-dimensional invaders, but they no longer trust you as much as before. Without you even knowing it, they have silently confiscated your Rikti power amplifier. Vanguard ops are good.

I don't think Vanguard would trust the villains with such training.

And Longbow and Ouroboros would have been my first choices for the others.

    Heroic Patrons!

Hrm...I see what you mean. How about Midnight Spells?

*Chi: you have learned the ability to manipulate life energy, either your own or others'.

*Magitech: You have learned to combine Machines and Magic. A potent mix.
*Cyborg/Robot: You don't use machines. You *are* the machine.

    MAGIC:
*Magitech: You have learned to combine Machines and Magic. A potent mix.
*Supernatural Being: You have some level of natural magic, whether you are a fairy, Gorgon, etc., or have some other claim to power.
*Spirit: You gain your powers from otherworldly spirits.
*Divine: You are a god, or descended from one. Or are a god's champion.
*Infernal: You are some sort of demon, or gain your powers from them. You may not be evil, necessarily, but sensitive entities feel discomfort in your presence.

    MUTANT:
*Spontaneous: Your parents were truly normal, genetically, but for some reason, fate decided you weren't.
*Subspecies: You come from a long line of mutants, to the point that your whole family exhibits strange physical features, like blue skin or glowing yellow eyes.

    SCIENCE
*GATTACA: your DNA has been artificially modified, on purpose or by happenstance.
*Quantum: You have been exposed to exotic energies that gave you your powers.
  18. I think this is interesting...and could definitely fit many character concepts.

  19. They were meant to be Standard pools, as any old schlub could pick up a gun or knife, whereas APPs and PPPs are a special group of powers only available to the mighty heroes and villains. I suppose Munitions may walk the line there a little, but they seem to represent the more high-end weaponry, where my pools are just the standard weapons.
  20. When I came up with the Pistol pool, I meant a single pistol...but a Dual Pistol Version could be very cool.

As for sets, I would imagine some would be mutually exclusive with each other, and with some main sets.

    Examples:

Shield: ME with Archery, Trick Arrow, Dual Blades, Shield Defense, Dual Pistols, & Ninjas

Bow: ME with Archery, Dual Blades, Shield Defense, & Ninjas

    etc...

    Defunct Origins?

I have heard that there was originally many more origins than there are currently. I am aware of one of them, the Blood of the Black Stream, but what were the others?

That aside, the idea is not without merit... it certainly would make those Sword & Gun characters more feasible... but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Both valid points...I'll edit the OP.
  23. I was thinking of famous comic-book heroes, and got to realizing, "Hey! A lot of heroes and villains have minor weapons aside from their main ones!"

This got me to come up with a small group of weapon pools:

    Thrown blades (Batman's Batarangs)

T1: Quick Throw: Ranged Weak Lethal DMG
T2: Disarming Strike: Ranged Tiny Lethal DMG, -ToHit
T3: Aimed Throw: Ranged Mod. Lethal DMG
T4: Blade Flurry: Short Cone Weak Lethal DMG

    Pistol (Deadpool et al.)

T1: Single Shot: Ranged Weak Lethal DMG
T2: Warning Shot: Ranged Tiny Lethal DMG, Foe Fear
T3: Aimed Shot: Ranged Mod. Lethal DMG
T4: Empty Clip: Ranged Mod. Lethal DMG, Foe KD

Sword/Knife (Truth in Television, in that many soldiers receive training in such)

T1: Hack: Melee Weak Lethal DMG
T2: Pommel*: Melee Tiny Lethal DMG, Foe Stun
T3: Wide Slash: Melee Cone Weak Lethal DMG
T4: Vital Stab: Melee Mod. Lethal DMG, -Def
*(Hitting with the butt of you blade, where we get "pummel")

Shield (Captain America would technically be a Martial/Will Scrapper)

T1: Phalanx Fighting: Auto Self +Def (Melee, Ranged, AoE)
T2: Raise Shield: Toggle Self +Def(All Except Psionics)
T3: Shield Slam: Melee Mod. DMG, Foe KD
T4: Take Cover: Toggle Self +Res(Smashing, Lethal, Fire, Cold, AoE)

Club (Pretty much any Gang member or Caveman)

    T1: Bash: Melee Weak DMG
T2: Limb Shot: Melee Weak DMG, -ToHit, -Movement
T3: Slam: Melee Weak DMG, Foe Stun
T4: Crunch: Melee Mod. DMG, Foe KB

Bow (No examples come to mind... But it fits with the others)

T1: Snapshot: Ranged Weak Lethal DMG
T2: Ice Arrow: Ranged, Foe Hold, -Recharge, -SPD
T3: N2O Arrow: Ranged TAoE Foe Sleep, -DMG
T4: Fistful of Arrows: Short Cone Mod. Lethal DMG

EDIT: added the following two sets.

    Whip

T1: Snap: Melee Cone, Weak Lethal DMG
T2: Trip: Short Range ST, Tiny Lethal DMG, Knockdown
T3: Crack: Melee ST, Moderate Lethal DMG
T4: Swing: Wide Cone, Moderate Lethal DMG

    Rifle

T1: Slug: Ranged, Weak Lethal DMG
T2: Vital Shot: Ranged, Weak Lethal DMG, Tiny Lethal DoT, -Def
T3: Grapeshot: Cone, Weak Lethal DMG, -Res
T4: BOOMSTICK!: Short Range. High Lethal DMG(Very inaccurate)

    Other Edit:

    Magic Blast|Wand

T1: Mystic Bolt: Ranged, Weak Energy DMG, Foe KB
T2: Magic Haze: Toggle, Self -visibility, weak +Def
T3: Eldritch Blast: Ranged, Moderate Energy DMG, Foe KB
T4: Confounding Spell: TAoE, Foe weak Confuse

    Laser

T1: Single Shot: Ranged, Moderate DMG(Energy), Foe Knockdown
T2: Energy Shield: Toggle, Self +Def
T3: Cutting Beam: Ranged Cone: Moderate Energy DMG, -DEF
T4: Blinding Flash: Minor Energy DoT, Foe Blind

    Edit the third:

    Staff

T1: Mercurial Blow: Melee (Minor DMG[Smashing], Foe -Def)
    T2: Guarded Spin: Melee[Cone] (Moderate DMG[Smashing], Self +Def[Smashing, Lethal])
    T3: Serpent's Reach: Ranged[Short] (High DMG[Smashing], Foe Knockdown)
T4: Innocuous Strikes: Melee[Cone] (Moderate DMG[Smashing], Foe Immobilize, -SPD)
    These pools would be customizable.
