Expand the inspiration combining mechanic
And perhaps combine a large number of any T2 or higher to get a teamie of one Tier lower.

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
I always thought that if you combined three inspirations and chose the same type, you should get the next higher version, at least from level 1 to level 2.
E. g., if you combined three small reds ("Enrage"), you should be able to get any other small inspiration (Luck, Catch a Breath, Respite, Break Free, Awaken, ...), but if you chose the red one, you should receive a Focused Rage (the level 2 one).
Being able to create level 4 inspirations this way would probably invalidate the effort needed to get them the original way (running an incarnate trial), so that's out. I have a feeling that even creating level 3 inspirations from three level 2 ones might be slightly overpowered. But it certainly would be a nice feature to have.
(Also, in the beginning there was this rumour that if you managed to get your hands on one of each level 3 inspiration, you could trade the set in for something really special. Now there's a thought...)

There's an ugly problem with inspirations - you can only combine inspirations of the same tier. That means that if you have two medium blues and one small one, you can't combine.
My counter-suggestion to this is to allow us to combine inspirations of the same type regardless of Tier and just have the resulting inspiration be of the lowest tier of inspiration affected. So if I combine a small blue, a medium blue and a large blue into a a green, I get a small green because there was a small blue in the mix.
When it comes to the interface, I say make it smarter. When combining, have the game first try to combine three inspirations of the tier I clicked on. If that's impossible, THEN have it try to combine the inspiration that I clicked on with other inspirations of the same type, but as low a tier as is possible. Never have the game auto-combine with a higher-tier inspiration unless I specifically initiate the combination from it.
For instance, if I have three medium blues and two small blues and I choose to combine the medium ones into a green, I'd get a medium green and two small blues. If, however, I have two small blues, two medium blues and one large blue and I choose to combine the medium ones into a green, I'd get a small green (combined 2 small blues, 1 medium blue), one medium blue and one large blue.
Essentially, if I don't have enough inspirations of the current tier, then have the game try to combine one from as low a tier below that as it can, filling in blanks with the next tier up the ladder up to the tier I picked and no higher. It keeps the interface still working with a single right-click and hides all the not that complex logic on the back end.

Being able to combine 3 insps into 1 of any other insp is nice, but I think we should do more with it:

but I would prefer if we could just combine any 3 types to 1 other type no matter the level (the resulting level would work out to the average). I hate at higher levels not being able to make the insp I want because all the levels are different.

All combined would greatly improve one's ability to get a desperately needed inspiration mid-battle.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
