Play a brute instead! ;P (I kid, I kid!)
Try something *very* rare, like my dark/ice. -
How exactly does Power Siphon work?
Do you always get the ~6% damage debuff from your attacks, or only when using PS?
Do you always get the 25% damage bonus on your attacks, or only when you use PS?
I assume the debuff is always there, and the damage bonus only when you use PS, but I was hoping someone would know for sure? -
In this thread by je_saist, there may be the solution to your woes, good luck!
Known Issues
Intel
There is a known issue with Intel Graphics Chips at this time. The developers have not gotten around to re-kludging the game engine to work with / against Intel chips. Yes, it is known that the graphics are stuck on the lowest possible shader settings.
The Developer GPU has indicated that patches to Intel chips are due at a future date: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...49#post2819749

Some users with integrated intel chipsets currently experience a degrade in the shader quality settings allowed. This should be resolved in a future patch.
From Luminous Martini: Here's a fix to shove the game into it's lowest shader mode.

1. right click on CoH shortcut
2. click on properties
3.click on shortcut tab at top
4. go to target window "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe"
5. after the last " press space once
6. enter the following code exactly -useTexEnvCombine
7. click on apply then ok
8. right click on CoH then click run as admin. -
It looks like you have an Integrated Intel Graphics adapter. There was a thread a while back where problems with this type of graphics was a known issue, and a solution was found to both dial down graphics and use a command line switch on the updater.
I don't remember the specifics, but I'll do a search and see if I can find something. -
I *knew* it was you! I mean, I had no proof just a nagging suspicion, but I *knew* it in my bones! Or I would, if I had any bones, but they were all crushed my Marvel's bad writing and now I only survive because of this special armor...

All I can say to that is... "bwuh?"
I mean seriously, it *should*, and I just expected it to, so I haven't even looked yet.

Best goram show in the 'verse. Period.

I have a quick additional question. Am I correct in saying that the single target immobilize grants knock back protection, but that the AoE immobilize does not?
If that is true, then I need to drop the ST and pick up AoE, because.... holy synergy batman! -
I just noticed this starting a couple days ago. I agree it is annoying but not harmful. Perhaps there is an auto-log-off feature in the settings somewhere, but I don't see it.

You have some oddly slotted attacks or are doing something else horribly wrong.
I have never had a problem soloing Red or even Purple bosses with this combo. I may use inspirations against a purple, but they go down. -
Quote:My dom is elec/elec as well, and I chose the combo specifically because I wanted to be a 'scraptroller'.These are basically my thoughts on elec so far. I went elec/elec, because the primary looks like it'll support spending every moment in melee range, and electric assault enjoys that.
I haven't gotten to the sleep power yet, but does anyone know if the conductive aura breaks the sleep or allows it to continue? -
I have a little level 8 Dominator that now has both of these powers, and am curious as to other players experiences with these powers.
So far I think Conductive Aura is doing a pretty decent job of sapping my opponents and keeping my own blue bar from bottoming out. Can anyone recommend slotting for this? Right now I'm thinking 2 End Mods for quicker sapping?
I'm not sure what I am supposed to be doing with Jolting Chain? It knock opponents down, which is a nice soft control, but they get up pretty quick and seem pretty miffed at me. The damage is too low to be treated as an attack (which is OK with me). I'm thinking the best use of this power is an IO mule for knockback protection and recharge via the Kinetic Crash set. Is there a good strategic use for this power? I like using it (because flopping fish are funny!), but I feel like I could probably be using it better?
Any insight from more experienced users is appreciated, thanks. -
Sorry to hear that Snow Globe. I had a similar experience with my local Game Stop (US not CAN) when CoH first went live. I swore I would never buy a physical box again, and so far I have not.

I have made a conscious decision to attempt a new character the 'old fashioned' way this time around. I made an elec/elec dominator and purposely did not pick up any of my vet powers, or place any of my purchased powers on my tray.
My plan is to *try* and not use them until level 20, and to not fund my character from any of my other characters. I'm not sure how far I will get before I rip my hair out! -
To be fair, a new play could purchase a large chunk of the powers you also possess. Only a few are veteran rewards, though having two staffs and a melee cone at level 1 doesn't suck.

Quote:Thanks for the information, the information on Amazon wasn't very clear and I didn't want to end up buying multiple or overlapping issues. Much obliged! The series just published its 75th issue 2 weeks ago. Each TPB is 6 issues, the hardcovers are 12 issues each, the omnibus editions collect 24 issues in each and finally the compendium has the first 48 issues. There are 12 TPBs, which will get you up through issue 72.
Edit: Oh, and I almost forgot: squeeeee!!! This is looking better and better! I can't wait! -
Quote:So lets assume I don't have the series ('cause... you know... I don't).Just reread the entire series two nights ago. Very much looking forward to October.
Looking at Amazon.com it seems there are a plethora of ways to purchase this. Is there any difference between the individual books and the compendiums? How many total books am I looking at for the series? -
Zombies are my favorite genre, and I wholeheartedly look forward to this!

[QUOTE=Eaion;3088938]This hasnt been easy, tons of willpower and motivation, 2 thing that have been lacking in me for a long time , but now they are here to stay./QUOTE]
That's the key right there. You are doing AWESOME, just keep it up man.
I am down to 166 from 256 over the last 13 months (or so). I ran a 4 mile race, have a 5k coming up in September, and just signed up for a half-marathon in November (http://cityofmanchestermarathon.com/index.htm).
I think I may have an obsession, but at least its a healthy one!
Keep up the great work! -
Quote:Unfortunately (unless I am mistaken, and very well may be), the 6.14.10.4020 drivers appear to be the most recent.Wierd every time i go to update those drivers it says it cant find any new ones. Any suggestions?
If that is the case you have 2 options:
1) Find a driver that may be compatible, but not necessarily created by the manufacturer. (I have heard of this being done, but have never had any first hand experience with it).
2) Purchase a new video card for your current machine. Given the age of your machine you may be able to find some cheap cards that perform reasonably well, and substantially better than built in graphics. -
Either your drivers need updating or you have a heat issue. Those would be my top two guesses.
