The article.

Break it like a kit-kat, foo's. Here's the skin-dilly-yo: It's the full length trailer. Click on anything you want in the trailer and pull up a feature related to it. Could be commentary, could be a featurette, could be something totally random! Essentially, a good and thorough clickin' will net you more special features than most DVDs.

Could someone explain Scott Pilgrim to me? I kinda want to see it, but since it stars that kid from Arrested Development, I kinda don't.

It's a romantic comedy told from the perspective of a kid that grew up on old school video games. Everything's told through gamer analogies. So in the other romantic comedy, the guy would have to convince the girl to let go of the past and embrace the future. In Scott Pilgrim, he has to defeat her ex in an epic fight that tracks combos, scores, and hit gauges. Winner gets the girl. Loser turns into coins and experience points.

The movie's going to weave together romantic comedy tropes with video game tropes at the speed of a seamstress of crack. Have you seen the trailers? Most of the movie is something that, like Inception, has to be experienced more than explained...

And it's directed by Edgar ("Sean of the Dead", "Hot Fuzz") Wright, who has already used gamer analogies to excellent effect in the Channel 4 sitcom Spaced (as well as other facets of geek culture, e.g. comic books, paint ball, Star Wars).

That sounds...odd...at best. It doesn't help that Cera (that's his name, right?) isn't that strong of an actor, IMO. He's sidekick material at best and even then only in small doses.

Any movie that has a teenager in an awkward romantic/heroic/everyday setting......Micheal Cera is the first to come to mind. No matter how good the person that actually played the role did, I still envision Cera. I don't care if he's type-cast for the rest of his life; he plays that role PERFECTLY.

Examples include Zombieland, Role Models and last night's viewing of Kick *** for the first time.

So... if the trailer is done up like a game, complete with achievements, then does that mean discussing the trailer violates the new forum policy? In fact, since the movie and comics are also heavy with game related references (1-ups, Crash at Demonhead, the Sex Bob-Ombs), then doesent that mean that any mention of Scott Pilgrim would violate the new rules?

I think he meant that Jesse could've been replaced by George Michael Cera.

I wholeheartedly agree with that, they really are practically twins!

Yes, that's the point. Wife thought it was Cera while watching the movie. I, at first, thought it was when I briefly saw a trailer for it.

They're about as awkward as one another, but I gotta say I don't see too much of a resemblance. One looks closer to a bird and the other is a Matt Smith Frankenstein's monster.

I think the point was that as far as the roles they've played, they could sub in for each other with out many people noticing.
