Zombies are my favorite genre, and I wholeheartedly look forward to this!

Looking at Amazon.com it seems there are a plethora of ways to purchase this. Is there any difference between the individual books and the compendiums? How many total books am I looking at for the series?

The series just published its 75th issue 2 weeks ago. Each TPB is 6 issues, the hardcovers are 12 issues each, the omnibus editions collect 24 issues in each and finally the compendium has the first 48 issues. There are 12 TPBs, which will get you up through issue 72.
Edit: Oh, and I almost forgot: squeeeee!!! This is looking better and better! I can't wait!
Just bought #12 TPB today. And I'm already 3 issues behind?!?! Gorram it.

Oh, and Issue 75 has several full-page pics of the series' main characters and some zombies. They all look pretty good.
