    American. How dumb

    [/ QUOTE ]
    = insulting

One thread, 11 posts. Way to go, EU players! Why, oh why, oh why DON'T THE DEVS SPEND 24/7 HERE? THE FOOLS!

...the complaints on the main boards are starting to get to me, I'll admit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If that was in reference to my post, did you scroll down the link I posted to the part where FFM made exactly the same mistake?

Just read the 5 year anniversary thread and aside from appearing that the US seem perfectly happy with the tedious 5 years events, I found it really funny that most seem to think it is only running for one hour, lol.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, those wacky American. How dumb can you get?

    28th April 2009

The only thing I'd like to see from the last 5 years is the 5th Column and Council fighting it out on the streets again. And only if it ends up with an appearance by Reichsman, and the 5th back in game properly.
  4. "During WWII the feared Nazi 5th Column forces conducted covert military operations within the borders of the U.S. itself."*

Whilst the rank-and-file of the 5th Column may well have been recruited from sympathetic American citizens, they were definitely originally a German led organisation. Certainly, the names of the various troops were German.

I had the impression that it was the Council which was Italian, working within the framework set up by the Germans. Which would make sense, with the Nictus hanging out in Italy...

*From the original Game Manual description of the 5th.
  5. Yep. At least half my alts came about because I had a name pop into my head, and then fit the power-sets to it. Which means I've had some truly awful alts (or boring, like my Bots/FF), but I've also had some really fun ones.

I never liked maths very much at school, I'm sure as hell not dragging it into my games!

And I dont think I ever knew anyone who didn't cheat at those adventure books!

    [/ QUOTE ]

It wasnt "cheating", it was "keeping my options open"

    [/ QUOTE ]

I kept my options open and I still couldn't finish Starship Traveller for some reason.

OT, this does sound like an interesting idea. Even if one that might prove harder to run that it should...

check out coh goes 80 reminds me of the old MUD's.

    Ooh the memories.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, is it wrong that I actually felt nostalgic and thought (for a very brief moment) that it would have been cool if there was a CoH MUD?
  8. Ah. I only ever do it to turn down the fx when I have a quiet piece of music playing, which is probably why I never noticed. Far enough apart for me not to remember I'd already done it

you can turn down game sounds in options, works on my pc very well

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only if you play in full screen, altering sound settings when in windowed mode does nada, unless you turn em off completly, which i don't want to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? I have the music turned right down permanently, but altering sound FX up or down seems to work fine for me.

    Mewtamorphosis!

I'd be happy if we just didn't have the 30 second cooldown between costume changes, so I could string together my own magical girl transformation sequence.
  11. Nor being funny, but is this really needed? I've never used Mids, but I know that if I pull up my 'powers' window, the 6th power of my Primary is always available at lvl 12, the 6th of my Secondary at lvl 20, etc.

Someone finally finished reciting all the possible names for the forums. Now they're winking out, one by one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm going to post just to say I really appreciated that reference
  14. I cast my vote for Swing!

A little Basie, a little Ellington, some Sinatra...how much more classy could you get?
  15. "I'm coming to your house...soon!"

The last thing any Russian wanted to hear Stalin say in the 30s...

On topic, what we really need is a Hammer dance emote. Plus parachute pants in the cossie creator, of course.

Yes, the UK CoH forums are scary indeed....
  18. I really can't remember. I think it might have been somebody in the NWN realm I frequented mentioned it.

Anyway, however it happened, I found myself on the US pre-beta boards. Joined my first SG (yes, before the game even launched), joined in the speculation, arguements and the great Fanta Shokata craze, and was basically hooked before there was even a game to play.

    Please reply!

For my part, I generally leave my status to 'Not Looking' because I'm not actively looking for one. I'm generally happy to join one if I get a nice Tell asking, though. If I really don't want to team, I flag myself red. It's not that difficult, and has the added bonus of killing blind invites.

However, if I was inviting people to team, I would take 'Soloing' in the Search comment to mean that the person wasn't interested.

And, as most people here seem to be saying, if I get a Tell I always try to reply to it as soon as practically possible. Assuming I haven't missed it completely somehow.

Example, Recluse, finding out how to enter Ouroboros goes back to just before Marcus drinks from the well of the furies. You can go back and stop it, ensuring Marcus becomes Statesman.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd be more tempted to stop Recluse and stop Marcus drinking it, so I could instead

They look to me like really clever crafted hair-pieces, you can see the most evident example on the 'Redhead Rhino', her real hairs a different shade.

As for Sapphics suggestion of faux-cat ears - that would be big in Japan.

Not that easy. I bump my head at least once a day whenever I go out there.

Lucky for me I don't have enough hair left to sport one of those styles then, really

That gives me a flashback from AO. Was a race there called Atrox, which were genderless but, to me anyway, looked very much like beefy men. But every now and then you'd see an Atrox with a pink mohawk sporting a metal bikini and flexing off in a store. Quite disturbing.

It was when they were dancing on a table in a bar that I drew the line...
