EDIT: Villains get a pretty good deal, too. "Arachnos thinks you could be useful. We're allowing you to use the Arachnos sponsored mediport facilities here on the Isles. Stay useful and you'll stay on the mediport service."
[/ QUOTE ]
"And then we'll all try to beat you up whenever we see you anyway and won't even revoke your mediport access when there's an Arachnos death warrant out for your arrest!"
I hate you so much, Arachnos. -

Um....well I dunno bout everyone else but I use HC. I put some extra disorient IOs in it and so even if they do get knocked back their disoriented and just drunk staggering around.
Whats your problem with it? You dont know how to use it? Oh thats different.
[/ QUOTE ]
... and with HelinCarnate's suggestion, you could do the exact same thing by not switchinig to the no-KB version. People who wanted to use it for the disorient without having to worry about scattering issues could take the knockdown version, and everybody would be happy. He's suggesting the addition of more options, not taking away existing ones. -

When things go south OOCly with a partner it is very difficult. Especially, when you can't even discuss how to delicately disengage the characters to everyone's mutual satisfaction.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't think I've been in this particular situation, but my characters tend to get attached to people who leave. When someone asks where they went, my main's usual reply is to state that he ate them. That usually shuts people up for one reason or another.
[/ QUOTE ]
I prefer the system a GM I used to play under used. If you disappear, your character gets the most humiliating and un-glorious death he can muster. "And as you go around the corner, Bob's door flies open and he falls out. And then the car behind you runs over his head. And his body rolls into a gutter. ... and a dog pees on it." -

See, where *I* live (central Ohio in Buckeye-land), you can find 20 different flavors of Arizona Ice Tea and its competitors in every "stop & rob" convenience store. But it's daggone difficult to find anything much non-caffeinated like Fruitopia - typically, you can only find Sprite or something like that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Decaffeinated tea?Would you like some deoxygenated air to go with that?

No one's perfect. In this case, Mod8 has been very, very wrong to let this continue. At first, it was funny, but he really should have deleted it by this point.
If it weren't against the rules to call you a forum troll, I'd call you the biggest forum troll in forum trolling history.
[/ QUOTE ]
In my day, we had real forum trolls, dagnabbit. You kids with your cell phones and your hippity-hop wouldn't know what to do against a master of ******-fu! -
Tea. Either unsweetened iced tea or hot tea. I usually have teabags for about 6 different styles of tea on hand.

Better yet, make it so you have to spend inf to use them!

500k per pop? Or better yet, it could prompt for it, setting up the inevitable 'I accidentally put two too many zeroes on my /e throwmoney!' posts. -

If you were doing this for real to see who was king amongst the NPC factions, you'd have to pit whole spawns of roughly matched groups against each other, and have some sort of "weight class" based on level.
Longbow v Arachnos
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd love to see the results of this. I've had a few rather long arguments with my friends about which of these two factions is more powerful. -
[ QUOTE ]
I am guessing you hovered out of melee range. In a sense you lessened the experience of the RWZ challenge if I am correct. But at the same time, if the entire mob was engaged on you the whole time you were taking advantage of the MOB AI.
There is no rule you have to stand toe to toe with the entire mob but the purpose of the RWZ is a stress test of your character. If you were out of melee range because your melee defense is your weak point and you tactically compensated for it, I would say you good job.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much this. Of all of the ranged characters I've heard of completing the challenge, I don't think I've heard of a single one doing it in melee range without heavy controls. (Though I'm sure somebody has at some point.) -
People also tend to overlook that the changes to Buckshot make it an attractive choice for single-target damage now.
At level 50:
Buckshot
37.95 lethal damage
0.9 second cast time
(42.17 DPA pre-Arcanatime)
8 second recharge time
10.192 end cost
Slug
68.4 lethal damage
1.67 second cast time
(40.96 DPA pre-Arcanatime)
8 second recharge
8.528 endurance cost -

Knockback is only ever a burden if an enemy flies into the next mob and causes double aggro
just have the tanker Taunt them back otherwise
[/ QUOTE ]
Aggro does not work that way. The only time a mob knocked into another mob will draw additional aggro is if someone chases said mob down and pulls aggro by being near the second spawn.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or if the enemy that's knocked back is an anchor for a debuff toggle. I know I just love looking up to see a horde of +4 bosses charging at me because the Energy blaster hurled my Enervating Field anchor into a mob on the floor below. -

I saw a group of electric blasters/defenders drain Lusca before. There is a video of it somewhere.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know if one single character can drain a GM, but I know it can be done by as few as two, as I've been one of the two who did it.
[/ QUOTE ]
My elec blaster single-handedly did it to Eochai, unless there was a kin or something in the group that I totally overlooked. -

Was that those Devastation IOs, Stillhart? I loved that. Buy for a half mill, post for four, sell for six. Now there are a ton for sale.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, yes, there are. I'm trying to be veeeeeery patient to offload the last of my inventory of them without taking a loss now. -
[ QUOTE ]
I like it. It's something the AE is currently missing. In my experience it is difficult to make your custom critters neither too easy or too hard. This would give the ability to create custom critters more in line with the regular mobs in the rest of the game.
I disagree with the reduced XP though, they should give normal minion, LT, and Boss XP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to mention that this way, you wouldn't need to take up several precious, precious enemy slots in a group just to have one type of enemy with more than one power loadout. -

Yay for Galaxy, Skyway, IP, Founder's Falls.
Did I get the zones nobody plays in?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll tell you a zone hardly anybody plays in. Dark Astoria. People tend to forget about it but then again it barely has any contacts so that makes sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't you dare send the AE spam to my beloved 20s street-sweeping zone! -
Pro: Make the TF/trial pool recipes more accessible to solo characters and people without much time to play than they used to be, since you can earn enough for a roll by doing a few arcs alone.
Con: Overall lower amounts of those recipes being generated. (It seems like this has eased up a bit more recently, though.)
Con: Players seem very likely to just sit on tickets, whereas recipes have much faster turnover times. -
[ QUOTE ]
Or you just have a Cold/ Defender on your team and not worry about her heal.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yet another reason Cold is all-around awesome on that TF. -
What I find fun about such niches is that I can often still list things at about 5-10 million and nobody will even try bids that low. I'll post for 5 and sell for 50 for days or weeks before anybody even places a bid between 5 and 50.
Or maybe I've just been dealing with really weird niches. -

So the STF takes longer because the Heroes are afraid to fight?

Ghost Widow has Dark Regeneration. The fewer people in melee, the smaller the chance that she'll abruptly recover thousands and thousands of HP. -

Thank you for the great response!
I had one follow-up question...
Say you have a group of three mobs standing VERY close together (like on a solo mission where minions will cluster together in spawns of three). If you smoke all three but do a light damage hit on one... will only that one aggro?
[/ QUOTE ]
Very likely. It's not a 100% guarantee, but you're still far more likely to just get the one guy you attacked than you would be without Smoke. -
Unless every subscriber had every song downloaded locally, this would probably be too bandwidth-intensive for slow connections. I suppose there could always be an option to let people opt out of hearing them, though.
Far more simple would probably be letting you set it up so the boombox can play any mp3 you have stored locally, but only you can hear it. It'd have a lot less issues that way. -

Also, a year ago, I was playing another brute and I was invited to a team where the map we hit was the University basement.
Not knowing the "way things work" I clicked the crate to complete the mission, as I was conditioned by the normal game to do this.
I was instantly assaulted by (poorly spelled and in caps) profanity from the "mapholder" causing me to bow out, and it wasn't until a couple months later that I realized I was invited to a farm focused on not completing the objective.
[/ QUOTE ]
... from the invention tutorial? Why would somebody farm that? It has like six Council guys in it. Why not just grab a newspaper mission? -

[ QUOTE ]
I invited some friends to play through a lowbie mission arc I created this evening and didn't fill up my team. Rather than go with a small team, I opened my invites up to the zone (King's Row on Victory) and got a few more players.
Everyone on the team got a level from the arc and since we were all lowbies, a couple badges as well.
Quoth a DB/Inv scrapper on my team: "Wow! It's neat to see someone running something other than a farm!"
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not surprised if I don't get into a farm. I would be really surprised if a low level team do Atlas Park/Galaxy city contact missions and King's Row story arc instead of sewers and scanner missions.
Recently, I did the Vahzilok disease story arc. I really missed that arc. Back in the old days, it was pretty common to see somebody with flies. Now, I doubt that people even know the disease exists!
[/ QUOTE ]
Really, post-XP smoothing and with TFs, I level up so quickly that I don't even bother trying to grab story arcs until the low 20s. I'll just outlevel them 2/3 of the time if I do. -

I imagine the widespread player dissatisfaction
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, the widespread player dissatisfaction is imagined.
[/ QUOTE ]
I haven't even seen any indication that the players who don't visit the forums are aware there's anything to be dissatisfied over. I've seen one or two people in-game grump a little about losing Meow, and that's about it.
