It depends on why no one likes them. If they use excessive force, they can kiss their licenses goodbye. I kind of see FBSA issued Hero Licenses as Bounty Hunter licenses in the US, they have to stick to rules.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course, excessive force in a world of telekinetic mafia bosses, jetpack-wearing mercenary companies, superadyne mad trolls, rampaging redcaps and et cetera ad naseum is going to be quite a bit more excessive than excessive force in a world without such excu... *cough* threats.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Besides, if the lawyers can keep Frostfire out of jail...
  2. I'd suggest it could be summed up with two: -

Rule 1: RPing should be fun for you.
Rule 2: Your fun should in no way preclude others from having fun.

This is however the first thing that Devs appear to have done with a view to roleplayers. I suggest we use it and use it heavily so they know that roleplayer friendly content is appreciated and work on more

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now, that's actually a good point.

Having said that, all this talk of joint missions seems to suggest it isn't actually for roleplayers at all and when they do implement the rest of the stuff in there, we're going to have issues.

    [/ QUOTE ]

However, in the interim before they introduce the content (assuming there is an interim), it could be worth utilising it to demonstrate that a non-combat hero and villain zone would be a welcomed inclusion...

...not that they'd be too likely to take note of it on the Euro servers, though
  4. So, if the potential of the PDP is fullfilled when it goes onto live, is the regular meeting of RPers likely to be relocated to a place in which Heroes and Villains can co-exist in harmony? (Well, as much harmony as you'd expect at a RP-meet )

Just wondering really... well, that and the opportunity to give that name to this thread

    Gravity Sonic

I find Lift quite handy. Okay, so the damage isn't great, but it does take the foe out of the fight for a good few seconds, you can (or you could, not sure if its changed) slot it with knockback for extra damage but without the annoyance of them actually being knocked back, the animation is quick and it allows you to activate some longer activation time holds while they sprawl on the ground.

heh, well sober people can join too

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, they'll need a designated driver

what about the university in cap, i kno its near the base portal, but its not near any contacts, is protected by drones, and is outside, spacious, and has that weird sphere with the chunk missing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

And perhaps if one of the SG's manage to build a base with a working teleporter to the area, they could make it available to their coalition as a way to reach the area quickly and safely...?
  8. Recall Friend is supposedly of benefit to a /Traps MM as a number of the placeables can actually be teleported with the power. Not got the power yet myself though, so I'm not clear exactly which powers are useful with the power, although I suspect it's likely to be the ones that add a name and health bar on your "pets" window...
  9. Sounds like a nice idea. If you haven't already seen it, a superb example of how this can be done well are the two Max Payne games.

If you haven't given any thought to the "creation environment", Flash might be worth investigating, which would allow you to match the animations, sounds and voices quite well without need to learn too complex a system. It could also be used to add small animated elements to the pages (a la the old Grange Hill intro sequences ).
  10. Nicely done. Look forward to seeing more.

Is there any limit to the numbers who can join a TC channel?

[/ QUOTE ]There is aparently a limit, but that's very high. Also, i think you can only be logged on 5 channels at a time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can confirm that there is a limit to the number of channels you can join--on my American account, one of my fiends is unable to join due to having reached his maximum, although I'm not sure how many that is--unless the TC has differing functionality to GC: if it does, that would be the cat's whiskers! :P

If you were to make the channel at tonights GG, you could also invite all attending at the time from the context menu (again, assuming UKTC=USGC)
  12. As it's Total Cat, and as a completely random reference to "Are You Being Served?", perhaps we could call it Galaxy Girl's Puss-?

On another note, an in- or out-of-character channel for locating other roleplayers at other times might be advisable? Is there any limit to the numbers who can join a TC channel?
  13. Wow, powerful stuff, and an interesting viewpoint from an oft overlooked villain group.

    suicidal minions

Mine always seems to be first to the front lines as well, for which reason I created a "follow aggressive" macro to restrain him slightly after the "petcom_all attack". Besides, you need to have him in aggressive stance for him to actually do any healing!

    deleting rooms:P

But not for any "crafted" items, or rather, you won't receive the Salvage back, for any tha are in the room when you delete it, so be sure to move these out of the room before deleting it.
  16. Perhaps what ever spot is chosen could be picked for some supposed significance, such as being the epicenter of some cosmic forces that re-impowers the villains? Or the spot where some great evil is reputed to arise, meaning that they gather awaiting just such a time, in hopes of earning favour/capturing the power for themselves/putting down the threat to their own plans...
  17. They've added a lot of new information on zones and history to the main site. A time line can be found at http://eu.cityofheroes.com/city-guide/timeline/
  18. The usually targetted version of petcom will select the last selected pet if none of your pets are currently selected. This means that you can set a bind (I use \bind c "petcom attack defensive") and do the following: -
    1) Click a minion
    2) Click a mob
    3) Press the bound button, and the previously clicked pet will now attack the currently selected mob

I find this useful to "distract" mobs that are focussing their agro on my MM or a felow player, but wish to let the bulk of the pets remain focused on their current target.
  19. Glad you enjoyed it Amenta: makes the eight hour solid work from midnight to 8am the day of the deadline worth it to know that it brings some small pleasure to people

The in-game resolution I have it 1024x768 and my desktop is 1280x1024.
  20. Very good use of the panels and the layout to express lively action and a dynamic feel. Some of the fight scene panels are perhaps a little unclear, but not the main plot-driving frames, which are obviously far more important anyway: fights tend to be chaotic and difficult to follow anyway. And a nice ending too
  21. Very kind of you to say SG, but I very much enjoyed the story behind your work, and that's more important than any flashy effects. Obviously the winners are something very special from what I've seen of other's efforts taht didn't quite make a "placing"
  22. Really nice work, very well presented, although the nit-picker in me feels the need to point out the two/too spelling inaccuracy in panel four on page three...

Some nice sound effect text at the bottom of that page too, and the story is nicely resolved in the short ammount of space: possibility of a sequel as well, perhaps?
  23. Well, now that they've announced the winners, I guess it's time for those of us who didn't quite make it to share our master-pieces with the community. Here's my tale...

    Index
    Page One
    Page Two
    Page Three
    Page Four

    Hope you all enjoy!

    1) Kicking a member from the SG, when all prestige is spent, DOES cause prestige debt; BUT, the base remained as functional as it was before (we have no functional items)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing that this debt causes a "problems" when redecorating though, as I assume any sold items are immediately "hocked" to pay off the debt?
