suicidal minions

Is it just me, or does the merc medic commit suicide quite frequently? Out of all my minions he is the one that seems to have an overwhelming desire to go one on one and toe to toe with the opposition. I was wondering if the other medics did the same, or indeed any of the other support personnel as I haven't really played any other mm type much, just enough to get a feel for them.

General Deathbringer level 30 (yay) merc/ dark miasma mastermind

Mine always seems to be first to the front lines as well, for which reason I created a "follow aggressive" macro to restrain him slightly after the "petcom_all attack". Besides, you need to have him in aggressive stance for him to actually do any healing!

Nope. Buffing Henchmen will do their duty in Defensive or Aggressive. Just not Passive.

Somewhat related but I've noticed that there seems to be a sort of 'red shirt' syndrome in minions; there's always that one particular one that will almost always die first no matter what.

If you can work out which one is your martyr you could call them 'Kenny'

[/ QUOTE ]Hey! I patented that idea!

Its becasue the medic has the shortest range on his ping-pong ball gun, which i think you will agree is very usfull for a henchmen that needs to stand at the back an heal! Bless his cotton socks.

Heh - I have one particular robots which runs off to close in for melee at the first given opportunity as well - always the same too
Perhaps there is some sort of suicide protocol built into them?

I know exactly what you mean! I have one particular robot, who for no reason what-so-ever, will run into a huge mob and try to brawl them to death! He is now called 'n00b'

@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.

Same thing here. Only been playing a Robot MM since weekend, so only got two bots. But Mars is always charging off to go toe-to-toe with his target. Brave lad just a bit stupid - maybe a problem overheating in action

Heh, usually.. if i see one robot going to melee it's almost sure that another will join soon, hmm, this behaviour also happens with some ranged foes.

I think they have fiddled a bit with the AI in recent patch because before that my bots stayed at range and take podshots at the mob, now I have to recall one bot that insist in going melee after 1 ranged attack

It's probably been retrofitted with a Leroy Jenkins module

Mine are forced into suicide. But i think thats always the case with Zombies and Grave knights. Otherwise they just stand there throwing up like an Olsen twin after dinner.

And if they don't die how am i supposed to rip the soul out of one and bring forth Celine Dion?

LMAO yup sooo true, there is one of mine 'Pinky' who insists on charging in or wandering off to look at the pretty lights.
Teh lich and knight prefered to stand behind me looking menacing.

I did hear a sorry tale from a friend about minions having a union meeting as he was pummeled by a baddie - sad but slightly amusing to watch i'd imagine

i think its just a sneaky nerf from the devs to prevent us MMs from growing too strong

"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"

Shu Tu Sune seems to draw agro and well he's finished before anyone else. Wan Kin seems to stick close by and even when he doesn't he does well on his own

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Thats got to be one of the best pet names I have seen. Even beats my private parts and private area.

Wan Kin does well on his own. Hmmm... there's a joke there somewhere, I'm sure.

My resident loonie is Brian Ninja, who's a mild-mannered accountant from Droitwitch during the day, but in Genin-Gray he turns into a nutter who's always off on his own, faceplanting.

This is why Kevin Ninja got promoted to Jounin before him.

Not managed to pin down one suicidal bot they seem to take turns, I have been trying to train them by using the goto to bring any running off back in line and that seems to work to some extent, when two drones and the assualt bot run off together though its more annoying. Im less concerned about the assualt bot he can handle himself most of the time but the drones insist on running up right next to any freakshow bosses so he can one hit them

I originally thought it was a reasonably effective way of stopping ranged attacks by engaging the target in melee attacks but with all the toggle powers I have running it became more of a pain to resummon and the sacrificial lamb after any battles.
