Quote:Ah, someone else who remembers Issue 5: The Coming of the Hand. I just wish I could find the picture someone drew for that of a giant hand smashing some part of the cityAs long as it is an OPTION. I really don't want to see a repeat of the howls of outrage and horror that resulted from the implementation of the "Big Blue Hand" years ago.

Okay, I've read this entire thread, and I didn't see two basic, nerd-party standard issue items.
Part the first - Lampshade hat. This is the go to "Oh man, I'm a party animal now!" item. Two versions I can see, one used as a hat, another with holes cut in for eyes under the "Special Helmets" category to allow the use of a face while mostly concealing it
Part the second - Necktie headband. Because you know that's the first place it's going once the drink starts flowing.
Those items behind us now, let's see what other things we could use here...
2x4, lightning rod and oar for Titan Weapons and Staff Fighting
Coffee mug chest emblem
"Drink" Helmet
Folding chair, wine bottle, shortened 2x4 for Maces
Broken wine bottle(s) for Broadsword, Axe and Dual Blades
Hypnotists swirly-thingy headband/belt/shoulder/chest items (animating where possible!)
Rats trail aura
(Carrion) Birds flying just overhead trail aura (back off, buzzards, I ain't dead yet!)
Steel bar for Titan Weapons, Staff Fighting, Broadsword, Katana, Axe, and Mace -
That's because you aren't a comic book character. If you WERE, it would be rather ho-hum to you by now! I mean honestly, who puts their brain out in the open like that for just anyone to shoot and/or throw chewed gum at?

Positron said he'd like to revisit... Energy Blast, I think? In last week's thing (I think. I was at work, so I didn't get to view it). I'd be okay with that, because I have a Dark/Energy Defender sitting at level 44 that I'd kinda like to get to 50 at some point, but I failed to note that KB + Tar Patch = Not good on outdoor, wide-open maps...

Quote:Oh I can. It's called Hammerspace. I fully expect, now that I've said this, that we will see dozens upon dozens of tiny "School Girl" characters using the Fusion Hammer in a comically anime fashionFunny thing about this game, though, is the freedom to make anything fit whatever concept you want. Sure you might not be able to think of a way someone can hide with a giant weapon, but others can.
I'm playing a bit of Devil's Advocate here, since the stated purpose of the Stalker is massive ST damage, and Titan Weapons has the stated purpose of massive AoE damage. They don't really fit together well, is what I'm saying.

I'm of the line of thought that, if someone can control electricity to the point where they can use it to dull the impact of an incoming hit, they can PROBABLY control it enough to the point where someone they are just passing by might only notice a nominal increase in static electricity. So it becomes less "Everything is shorting out" and more "Sonofa! This doorknob ALWAYS shocks me!"
Titan Weapons isn't "Did you notice these bright green electricity bolts," it's "Hey, do you hear that ROARING JET ENGINE behind us?" or "What is that metallic scraping sound on every wall, floor, and ceiling coming up the hall?" -
Titan Weapons for Stalkers...? Really? This is a thing that's happening?
I mean, I love Stalkers. They're great fun, and there is something deeply satisfying about Build Up -> Assassin's Strike -> Shin Breaker -> Placate -> Crushing Uppercut laying a boss flat. That said, really? TITAN WEAPONS? What, are you hiding behind the GIANT JET ENGINE ON A POLE? Again, I really do love my Stalkers, and I'm all for the idea of making sure that everyone has access to fun, thematically sound sets, but something about this decision just strikes me as a touch off.
Seriously though, how is the Assassin's Strike going to work? Is it going to be something like holding the thing behind you, then bringing it down in a massive overhead strike?
...
Is that in the set already? I honestly didn't play around with it much in beta, but it looked cool... Admittedly, though, if this ended up being like a cone AS, THAT would be interesting. Assassin's Swee... Hmm... Admittedly, Assassin's Sweep just makes it sound like you're stealthily cleaning a room... Which I suppose kinda fits in the given circumstances.
I think I lost my momentum in h... Sonofa, I see what I did there >.<
Right, simply put, I don't see Titan Weapons as a terribly stealthy set, doesn't really fit with the whole stalker idea (it's an AoE-centric set, Stalkers are meant to be, and are truly becoming with I22, the ST damage kings, queens, presidents, and really the entirity of the ST damage Senate, Parliament, etc.). I won't out and out say that it's a bad idea, just doesn't seem like it fits to me. Like they're taking a Fusion Hammer to get the square peg into the round hole. It'll be a much larger round hole at the end of it, and the square peg might not exist anymore afterwards...
That one got away from me, I think. Regardless, I'll take the "wait and see" approach for this one and stop rambling. It's early and I've only just had my coffee. -
Anyone know what was mentioned in the Powers panel?
-
Is it just me, or did the Ustream just crash?
-
I actually made a thread regarding this. Check the sig
Also, I do rather like these ideas -
Getting two Sequestration Rings on my StJ/Nin Stalker, then using Smoke Flash to make Siege and Nightstar stop looking at me. Then stepping back a moment, letting a ring vanish, and CRACKING one with Assassin's Strike (love the CRUNCH on Street Justice
)
Going to Atlas, finding a random level 1 Hellion, then sending him into the stratosphere with Disembowel, Crushing Uppercut (Slotted with Force Feedback!), Lift (Gravity Control), Lift (Mind Control), Knockout Blow, or Wormhole.
Nailing a particularly vexing league leader with Headsplitter during the Avatar of Hamidon fight (If you are concerned about people seeing your messages, use Request instead of spamming League with all caps nonsense)
Nailing an entire group of friends with Atomic Blast while confused (I do love Confuse, it leads to such wonderful hilarity)
Confusing an AV. By myself. On my Fortunata.
Holding Reichsman. By myself. On my Fortunata (Take THAT, Mag 100 Hold protection!)
"What? No, there is no way you can tank as a /Dark Armor Brute. You'll wither under the alpha!" "Your point? *Soul Transfer* I'm tanking!"
"... You have how much Psionic resistance?" "Hard capped."
When a plan comes together: I love it.
Self Destruction. There is no greater "Flipping the Bird" power. I only wish it was affected by Burnout, so I could use it that much more often (also, I'd have a reason to take Burnout)
"Your Burst rattles Avatar of Hamidon for 34.26 points of lethal damage!"
"You have defeated Avatar of Hamidon"
"You have received Avatar Assassin"
- The best part of this one is that I got the kill shot because I stopped queuing up M30 Grenade and used Burst. -
Admittedly, having Hide as an inherent would be nice, but if I ended up losing the slot I have in it I'd be a little less than pleased (it holds my KB protection. /Nin
)

Actually, that's the league window. I haven't tried it with the old interface (which actually isn't the same as it was before leagues, but that's neither here nor there)

It was a bug involving the LFG Teleporter. I want to see about getting more people onto a team using this, but I don't know all of the specifics of it yet. I fully intend to try to put together a team of 10 or so people if I can make this work, then trying to do a TF with said team :3
Of course, that assumes it isn't fixed before I have the chance. -

I wouldn't mind being able to muck around with this on my Nook Color
-
I can't seem to place it, but something about this league strikes me as a touch... off. Could someone perhaps help me to enumerate my concern?
For the record, I think I pieced together how to reliably cause this to occur, but since I was on Team 1, and not Team Overfill, I didn't have a chance to see if the Shift+Number shortcut went all the way down to Teammate 9
My goal now is to see if we can get a team up to 10 or higher. I fully expect this to crash the game if successful, but it is worth it, for science! -
