Quote:I'm usually all about concept. Luckily, there is a lightning elemental shield choice.Elec/SD is kinda sick, but I went Elec/SR for concept reasons (that and I already had a SD scrapper). Working out well enough, but I miss being able to (AAO+)BU+LR+SC to wipe everything off the map every 30 sec.

How about the IO and IO set button art?
The Praetorian symbol and/or the Vigililante and Rogue symbols, when they are ready to be revealed.
The Wentworth's symbol. (Is there a Black Market symbol?)
The Ouro symbol. -
I'm LOVING my elec/shield, and I'm only level 33. When I get Shield Charge and start realizing some of the full potential of the sets...*drool* what was I saying?
Edit: The only shortcoming is the lack of a self heal. After a slight false start, I used Build 2 to "respec" into Aid Self - and haven't looked back since. -
Quote:Glass/mirror finishes would be awesome with the new Ultra graphics upgrade coming with GR.4) Glass/Mirror finishes for walls and maybe floors.
7) Autonomus base pets. From buttlers to cats or maybe a tamed clockwork. They should be limited to a set number per base (maybe one) and have a few behaviour modes (greet at enterance, hide, lurk, pester, come when called (think about a large button or pull chain). Breath life into the base by having something always lurking when someone comes in. Heck a pet dragon might be cool, minding the salvage
I'd be satisfied simply to have NPC people walking about, like in the zones. Technicians, mechanics, interns, etc. Pathing would be a nightmare, though, since every base can be wildly different. -
I'll take a 100 million worth! You, sir, deserve mad props for your philanthropy.

A unique bow. And more swords. And claws.
The power to remove the fog of war (probably should have been here rather than a vet reward).
A trip mine power or stealth power.
A disguise (costume toggle like those given out at the various cons) - maybe an ordinary citizen?
Flash powder costume change e-mote.
A "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" float-on-the-rooftops style travel e-mote for super jump.
Swinging. Yeah I said it. Swinging. -

I am originally from Alabama, so I can totally empathize with the OP.
However, moving to the "big city" (Atlanta) hasn't helped much! I've never met a player in person. This despite living within a few miles of Catwhoorg, and knowing one of my SG mates lives in the metro area! -
I'd love to see the system turned off. Frankly, IMO the boards are a bit much to moderate properly with the resources they have. They certainly don't need to divide their resources by moderating reputation comments as well.
Also, if they didn't require a comment for negative rep, they might get fewer inappropriate ones. I mean, almost by definition a person leaving negative rep is in a negative frame of mind - its a bit much to expect such comments to be full of positive feedback! -
Quote:I think a rejection by her certainly would have isolated him more from humanity. I quibble with the term "evil," especially earlier in his career. I think that without an anchor to humanity in the form of someone like Monica, then a person as powerful as Emperor Cole would become more and more detached from humanity over time - much like Dr. Manhattan.Maybe her rejecting him would actually make him more evil? Like killing Recluse at the Well could have been a sort of heat of the moment thing, but then being rejected by the woman he loved might push him further to evil?
And if Domi, with another father, still grew up to look a lot like her mother, Tyrant may have started a relationship with her because first, it was a way of "getting back" at her mother, and second, it was way to being with her likeness - that way, their relationship would still be very creepy, but wouldn't have the gross incest thing going on.
Of course, the Hero Con slides actually referred to Emperor Cole as Statesman's "evil twin," so my quibble is rather meaningless. I just think a more viciously neutral Cole would be more compelling and would also fit better thematically with Going Rogue. -
Quote:Very plausible, and fits in with the novel. I don't see Monica falling for a Marcus Cole who killed her brother, who (at that point) was not see by her as an evil guy.As has been openly suggested by the devs, it was love that made things fall out the way they did. Monica Richter basically picked Marcus Cole over Stefan Richter, and things happened the way they did. Well, let's see here...Cole kills Richter at the Well of the Furies, right? And goes on to take over what is left of the world with his meritocrazy? (Deliberate.) I'm going to take a wild stab that he never married Monica.
My assumption, now, is that Dominatrix (or whatever her Praet name is) may well be the daughter of Miss Liberty...but is very unlikely to be the granddaughter of Emperor Cole. -
I think the exception to what most people are saying is Penelope Yin's dad's SO's. Getting that very high bonus at level 10 exceeds anything you can get at that level IO or set-wise, even though you are limited to one type based on your origin.
-
I sympathize, and you have a point. But I'm not sure the issue is worth recoding for. These events are both temporary and seasonal. Go to Wentworth's or make a sandwich instead. It'll be over soon.
Heck, if it's a slotting level and you are that much of a lowbie, simply wait until you reach the next level and train up twice.
I agree people should move off a bit, but getting them to do so....well, you might try herding cats instead. -
"Pumpkin Peril" #139708. Four missions of light-hearted adventure.
(Gee I hope that number is right - I'm at work and got it off my SG's private bulletin board. I hope it hasn't changed.) -
Quote:I used to love City of Heroes until I learned it was cheating on me with anyone who wanted a fun time and had a credit card.I don't think I've ever started a thread in this section before, but I've noticed something happening with more and more frequency over the last few months, and it's bothering me.
Most of the people I've played with over the 5 years have moved on to other games. That's happens, I know. It's normal, it's expected. What I didn't expect though, was when many of those people suddenly started behaving like the time they spent here was 'lame', 'stupid', or 'a waste of time and money'.
Sigh. I guess this is a stupid thing to be upset over, but it makes me sad. Okay, they like the games they're playing now, I get it, but why does that invalidate all the good times we used to have? Why is playing CoX for five years suddenly something to regret and lament?
Wait, that was my ex-girlfriend.
Never mind. -
Without the Red Wisp Pet it would have been 500 hours easy!

Quote:Love the idea.See, this I like. We already have boss-affecting options and EB affecting options. Instead of being just ON or OFF, we could (in the future) maybe see a few more variants. For bosses, my "Only degrade non-named" bosses is one third option, and as per your idea, "Degrade ALL AVs" sounds like a good plan.
Let's say..
Bosses:
None when solo
Only named bosses
All bosses
AVs:
Scale down for all teams
Scale down for small teams
Do not scale down at all
Granted, the systematics behind these changes are probably far more complicated than just flipping a switch, but it's something to consider in the future. -
Quote:Well, I don't agree with you getting negative rep for expressing an opinion, and doing do politely. But what can you do about it? It is one of the dangers of the rep system and having a large post count. Have some positive rep on me to make up for it.Oh, look, this is precious. Here's the comment I got for my negative rep:
I'm not even going to comment on "learn to play," but "leave my boss spawns alone?" Go to hell! You leave MY boss spawns alone! I quite enjoyed them, before they were changed to something I DON'T enjoy. For the umpteenth time, the POINT of more options for difficulty was to have more options for difficulty. Well, I don't have more options. In fact, I LACK the one option I liked. Right now, I have NO options.
So I hope I'll be forgiven if I don't appreciate having MY favourite difficulty setting ruined so someone else can have more fun with it while I rant and curse at my screen, specifically because there was NO NEED to mess it up and, from the looks of things, it wasn't even intended.
And I realize I made a mistake before - I play on the closest equivalent to Unvielding, not Tenacious, so I am usually +1/team size 2. But still I love the bosses.
Now, there was a patch prior to I16 that got bosses back into larger spawn sizes - I was definitely seeing them prior to I16. I can't find it in the patch notes, but I only gave a quick look. However, I agree that I'm probably seeing more bosses now, post I16.
I'm thrilled with it. But since the feature appeared prior to I16, I do not think it falls into the "not working as intended" category.
Still, it seems your issue with it could be solved by choosing "no bosses when solo" - unless you are asking for precisely the one boss at the end of the mission. Personally, I would not want to be locked into that narrow of a choice.
I don't oppose you getting an additional option, but I do not want the current sprinkling of bosses eliminated, either. -
Quote:That is exactly the settings I'm completely enjoying now because of the bosses! Please leave it as it is currently!Yikes, I think I neglected mentioning that in the original post!
My difficulty settings are:
-- Capable of fighting enemies at your current security level.
-- Combat equivalent of 2 standard heroes.
-- Does prefer fighting bosses when alone.
-- Does not prefer to fight Arch-Villains.
That's off the Hero Corps Field Analyst, a direct copy/paste.
*edit*
Also, because I failed to say hi in your welcome thread, I want to take this opportunity to say: Thank you, Arbiter Kim, for taking the time to look into this. I appreciate this greatly, and this kind of thing is one of the BIG reasons why I love this game -
Happy Birthday Rich.
My birthdate somehow got changed/corrupted during the forum change - it changed both month and day. You might want to double check it. -

CoX seems to be in a good place financially, atm though. -
Quote:It would appear he has encountered someone not on his "friends and family" list. The only thing I hope BaB's takes away from Champions is the travel power flavoring ideas (I do sooooo like Acrobatics as a travel set. Flippity-flippity-flippity-BOING! Also "platform" flying adds a nice touch.
Bill, I am constantly distracted by your signature banner, just WHAT is going on there? -
Quote:I agree wholeheartedly with that list, but I would add "country," because, if for no other reason, criminal penalties could attach if you are disloyal in specific ways. I have plenty of other reasons to be loyal to mine, though.I think you should be loyal to your friends and family.
And nothing else.
Where a subscription fee is charged, my loyalty lasts as long as the subscription period, and that loyalty is not necessarily exclusive.
That being said, I have time for about one game at a time. Odds are, if I'm active in this game, there isn't another.
