  1. The "Dimension Armor" sounds like Dark Armor plus Dark Melee, with some Phase Shift (Concealment pool) and Teleport Foe.

  3. Thanks for joining in, everyone! We managed to cover the Hollows, Skyway, Bloody Bay, Faultline, Independence Port, and Terra Volta. Looks like we need to continue the tour in a Part 3, so we'll post a week's notice when we have the date worked out (probably 2-3 Saturdays from now).

  4. Now that I have a Lore pet, I realize another problem. It's going to be the case that I want to use Group Fly to help my pets keep up with me. However, using Group Fly is simply going to annoy teammates.

  5. Currently, I only use contact stores is buying inspirations after exemplaring for regular missions. After my team comes out of a mission, I can quickly visit a nearby contact to replace any inspirations, and then get to the next mission in the story arc without delay.

    This requires preparation when initially doing the contact missions, though. For example, doing enough of their missions, such that they "open up" to sell the entire range of inspirations. Once I'd opened a scattering of contacts throughout each zone, that makes them useful for quick inspiration stops.

    Please tell your friends and mark it on your calendars. Taxibot Belle is going to continue part 2 of her celebrated city-wide badge tour, which includes history plaques and the Praetorian zones. This is all courtesy of Dark Bob, who is effectively sponsoring this activity for people to enjoy.

    For Paragon Protectors, I find that draining their endurance to zero (i.e., as close as you can) prevents them from going Unstoppable, which makes any missions involving Crey to go much faster. The trick is to get their endurance down *before* they take a lot of hit points, otherwise they'll go Unstoppable and take longer for your team to bring down.

    I mainly use Short Circuit to do this endurance drain fast, which I slot for +EndMod, though I find the Energy Manipulator: Chance for Stun is nice as well.

    -66% endurance on target

    41.6 energy damage against electronic targets only (great for Clockwork)

    -189% recovery rate for 10s on target

    +5% strength to all damage for 10s on self

  11. Sounds like you were trying to be a responsive leader by responding to someone's concern, and you made a decision that someone didn't like. This situation illustrates how challenging it can be to organize and lead activities, particularly since it's possible that you're dealing with anywhere from children to young adults to adults with children to retired folk.

    Fortunately, those trials are fairly short, so it wouldn't have been as great a loss as having completed most of a task force before getting dropped. Hopefully, you can carry on from the experience, such as it was, and continue to have fun teaming.

    It definitely does not stack, though that would be nice (and make a bit of sense). In a recent example, we were doing a city tour and I was trying to help the fares that definitely didn't have fly. However, others were complaining that the group fly was slowing them down.

    Hey Lothic, can you run off a quick list of improvements, or provide link to previous notes? Another thing I felt odd was how if you were already flying, then you will drop for a couple seconds when toggling on the group fly, which just feels awkward.

  13. Problem: Some of your team aren't able to fly, and there is a tactical benefit to provide them with flight (i.e., Group Fly). However, for others that have Fly, they'll often have it slotted they way they prefer it and dislike being defaulted to whatever the group fly is slotted for. Likewise, tanker effectiveness can often require them to be grounded, so not good to have group fly forced on them.

    Solution: Provide an opt-in dialog (similar to when being teleported) that allows person to accept the Group Fly. The dialog also needs a checkbox to save your choice as default.

    Yes, if the team has any altitude, then you need Group Fly in order to provide time that accounts for lag. Even so, I've found it necessary to watch the mini-map to see when everyone has been "ported," then pause another 2-3 seconds before the next jump.

    This seems to be a minimum requirement to avoid inadvertently leaving someone behind. Case in point, I once had a team where someone else had Team Teleport, and they were frustrated by my pauses (however brief they were). So they started teleporting the team and prompted started losing people. <urg>

    Team Teleport is more of a tactical tool for your team, such as performing a coordinated strike on a specific foe. However, be wary of firing off a string of teleports in a row, since lag can cause you to lose people.

    On Test Server last Thursday night, Positron mentioned that War Witch was fairly overwhelmed both work-wise and downtime-wise. This might not bode well for a last-minute fix to the Eden Trial.

    With respect to rewards for the Eden Trial, I recall that farming of this trial seemed to be overdone, particularly when rare recipe drops were still part of the reward. That would explain the low merit reward, since it would be too easy nowadays to keep a toon at perma 39-41.

    Might make more sense to remove both the reward and level restriction, so that people can have more freedom to participate with the adventure, without dealing with, "Gee, we don't have anyone to start us off."

  17. I must agree with other comments that, once you have your team recruited, it's fairly to recruit someone in the appropriate range.

    Alternatively, you might want to try arranging for a friend that is in the appropriate range. That way you're ready to go when you've your team together.

    Perhaps arrange a signup in the forums, with a request that someone is in the correct range.

    Aside from that, perhaps not worthwhile to stress over missing a single WST.

    No, no. At the player auction, people were being auctioned to provide four hours of game time.

    Belle was offerring a blue-side tour of all the exploration badge sites. She's done the tour before and found that it takes perhaps a couple hours.

    Please note that for this Saturday, this will be an updated tour that includes the new exploration badges that have been added around the city. TonyV and Belle put in quite a bit of effort to make certain that all the new sites are plotted out for the tour.

    I suspect that's about the best a hero can do. Otherwise, there are so many people, each with their own quirks, that it would be too stressful to be overly serious. <smile>

    With respect to silly/rude Tells, I suppose there's another side to the story, in that these people have been "griefed" in the past, and their defensive reaction is to try and make "offenders" have regret. However, that's something for them to work out on their own, to essentially recognize that sometimes there are issues that interfere with one's plans.

    Well, there was trivia at the PERC Player Auction this past Saturday, which was a mix of both real-life trivia intermingled with Paragon trivia. I think the trivia leaned towards the real, for the most part.
