Game Rules & Additional Info

1.) 3 contestants will be picked at random from the audience to participate in the day's game.
Contestants will be given the chance to introduce themselves. There may be shows that consist of 3 previous First Place winners. These will be announced at the least one week in advance after contacting said winners and verifying that they will be available.

2.) The game shall consist of 3 rounds of approximately 10 minutes each.
2a.) Round one: All questions shall be worth 5, 10 or 15 million Inf.
2b.) Round two: All questions shall be worth 10, 15 or 20 million Inf..
2c.) Round three: Only the player with the highest Inf Value earned in the previous two rounds may participate in round three. The host will ask a series of 10 questions. All questions will be worth 30 million Inf!
2d.) There will be no penalty for a wrong answer in any round!

3.) All contestants will be required to "Buzz In" in the Request Channel to answer.
This is most easily accomplished by making sure chat is set to go to request (By clicking the small r button above the chat input area) and hitting their "Ready" key (usually f7) on the keyboard. Custom "Ready" messages may be used but anything inappropriate may result in a request to change said message or disqualification. In the event that a player shouts an answer without buzzing in, the answer will be ignored and time will still be given for the other players to buzz in and answer. A player shall have 30 seconds to answer after buzzing in. Once any player has buzzed in only their answer will be counted for the question. If they answer incorrectly a new question will be asked.

4.) Each player is given 1 (one) NerfBat at the beginning of the game.
This can be used at any time by buzzing in and saying they wish to use their NerfBat. The NerfBat FORCES any other player (of the NerfBat player's choice) to answer the question that has just been asked. A reasonable amount of time will be given based on the difficulty of the question (Usually 30 to 45 seconds). In the event the player chosen is unable to answer the question, the person playing the NerfBat gains the value of the question. If however the player IS able to answer they gain twice the value of the question.

5.) The game shall take place in Request chat.
The audience is asked to please keep chatter to Broadcast or Local chat and please refrain from answering questions.

6.) At the end of the game all contestants will be given their winnings.
There will also be special prizes given to lucky audience members chosen at random. The prizes are awarded (also at random) during the course of the game so it pays to watch the whole show!

7.) Inappropriate language or unsportsmanlike conduct will be grounds for disqualification.
Disqualified players will not be paid or allowed to participate in future games.

So, if you're smart, or you just want a chance to earn some cash come on down and try your hand at the newest and craziest way to win some Inf. Just remember that no matter how much you walk away with...

IT'S TRIVIAL!

Is it crunch (mechanics) or fluff (lore/history) that's being judged? CoH only or superhero fandom in general?

Well, there was trivia at the PERC Player Auction this past Saturday, which was a mix of both real-life trivia intermingled with Paragon trivia. I think the trivia leaned towards the real, for the most part.

Trivia included in the game can consist of anything from Lore to Mechanics to History or Mathematics and Physics. The more obscure a question or topic the more money it will be worth.

Had an absolutely amazing run our first night out!

Our three contestants for the evening were:

Illusionist Bic
Demacian
Taxibot Belle

Unfortunately Illusionist seemed to DC early on but the show MUST go on... Demacian and Belle fought tooth and servo through two rounds with an early Nerf Bat play by Demacian absolutely devastating Belle's score... Belle returned the favor in round two only to be thwarted when Demacian got it right.

They finished round two tied at 55 million influence each and thus started "Sudden Debt" one question for each at 5 million inf a question, no penalty for wrong answers...

They fought it out in Sudden Debt for nearly an HOUR raising both of their scores to 95 million influence! After an hour the offer was made to go double or nothing, or walk away with their 95 million. In going double or nothing they were allowed to team up on the same question... and they stormed it.

Each of them left tonight with 190 million influence!

It was quite simply the most amazing display of competetive trivia I have seen in a LONG time. Amazing job and congratulations to both Taxibot Belle and Demacian!

Between their earnings and tonight's random prizes for the audience.... people walked away to the tune of around 450 million influence, and it happens again NEXT WEEK! Make sure you're there!

Tonight's Contestants were:

Karsa Orlon:
Star Empath:
Chironex:

We got off to a great start with Everyone on the board in the first round! An IT First!

Star quickly pulled ahead however and managed to make it to the final round. Karsa and Chiron both walked away with 50 million inf in their pockets and Star left 270 million influence richer!

A great show and great fun!

Just want to direct everyone's attention to sections 2,3 and 4 in the game rules... it is now easier to win money with no penalties to your score EVER!

Tonight's contestants were in no particular order:

Name The Untruth
Jean-Guy Federalist
Kumquats

Kumquats came off to an early lead with Jean-Guy lagging behind a bit in the first round... but with some strategic use of the NerfBats, and some great answers at the last minute, NtU finished with 30 million, Kumquats had 60 million and Jean-Guy pulled ahead to finish the final round racking up a grand total of 280 million influence!

We gave away 3 crafted LotG +recharge IOs at level 35, as well as a couple HamiOs including a synthetic Enzyme Exposure!

All in all, audience members and contestants walked away with near or slightly over a billion influence in prizes!

We hope to see you all next week for more fun, trivia and prizes!

Tonight's contestants were:
Pyroclastic
Wishsong
Ellscry

This was yet another exciting episode with a great turnout, including some PERC reps from other servers paying a visit! Everyone made it on the board early and the scores jumped back and forth with Wishsong finally jumped ahead with the final question of round 2! All told, Wishsong walked away with 275 million influence!

Tonight, in addition to our typical assorted door prizes, three audience members walked away with the same amount that the contestants did!

Many thanks to everyone who joined us tonight. See you next week!

I heard from a little bird that you two were feeling under the weather tonight. Wow, that's too bad, because Pocket D was filled to capacity! I hope you don't mind, but I told everyone at one point that next week at the same time (10:00pm Eastern!) that the trivia contest would be held, that there were hundreds of millions of influence to be won, and that even bystanders get prizes from drawings. Maybe next week, we'll have a really big crowd!

Oh, and of course, I hope you get to feeling better really soon, I missed you!

Yay, Infinity Taxis!!!
Try my City without Taxis story (1679) if you get a chance and let me know what you think!

Thanks for helping to spread the word Belle, Ska and I really appreciate it! We do indeed plan on being back next Thursday, in force, with bigger and better prizes than ever to make up for this week's absence. Hope to see you there!
