I'm not sure which is more silly. That people think power names should be held to a higher standard than character names are, or that people actually find something as ridiculous as PWNURMOM to be genuinely offensive.

In that case, no, you don't need it. It's not going to hose your DPS to skip Shadow Maul. The only time you may miss it is on big teams where 5-bangers are common.

Most of the guides here were written before melee range was extended a bit. So it's easier to line up more targets in the arc now. Still, it depends how good you are at split-second cone adjustments.
Do you have the veteran power version? You can try it that way and see how good you are at dancing the cone. -
Of particular note is if you pair electric armor with electric melee. Grounded will not protect from knockback for a split second while teleporting in Lightning Rod. Visually, this looks like you teleport in upside down and land on your head; It's rather amusing when it happens. Since everything else gets knocked down by the power, I'm not really that vulnerable when it happens, so I don't mind it.

Legends are long gone dead dudes. Are you saying you have a death wish?

Do you mostly solo? If so, snag it. If you mostly team, keep a respec handy. But be sure to try it before you "me too". :P

I haven't noticed Boost Range affecting Power Thrust. Usually what happens when an enemy closes in and I have Power Thrust queue up is they get knocked back, then their melee attack hits me. Try putting it on auto and it will go off as soon as your target gets near you (unless you're in the middle of another attack animation).
Also note that Buckshot and Slug will help keep stuff away from you, so you won't need to use Power Thrust all the time. Or just go hurdle/combatjumping and use active movement to stay out of melee (my favored method). -
8 fire/fire blasters. Roll the nukes, let God sort them out.

Oddly enough, I have a 50 fitness-free elec brute with conserve power all ready to go. Sounds good to me.
-
The more I get hit by stuff long-since defeated, the more this bugs me. I really hope this isn't intentional.

Quote:Try slotting it for -tohit, and rename it "whiffify".Oh yeah.... Liquify.. what a piece of crap.. yes it works... but its still a piece of crap... First off all Sonic is all about -Res... yet my TIER FREAKING NINE has NO -res in it... NONE.... There is a lamo hold that I have seen work like once.. oh yeah and a Defense to hit Debuff thats nice.... but its equal to what a RAD defender does in their tier TWO power.. so the power I have waited 32 or 38 levels to get is no better than what a Rad defender got more than 20 levels earlier ??????? you gotta be kidding me...

Old boards loaded nice and quick.
New boards load too slowly. -

Clearly you are not watching the right mecha shows. -
I've had good luck pairing electric armor with a set that has knockdown in it, and air superiority for extra. Keeping your opponents on their backs helps cut down damage by quite a bit. Electric melee, super strength, stone melee (take fault!), etc.

Neutrino bolt will be changed, no doubt about it. There was quite a bit of vehement whining over the Ice Blast changes to fit new defiance as well, to no avail.
But there's no way Rad Blast will be as pre-nerfed as Psi Blast. Rad Blast doesn't have the PVPers crying about it. -

So, what are you making your Traps Defender?

Mine will have the immobilize secondary. -

It's time for a traps/sonic defender superteam. 8 FFG makes a roaming group of tankmages.

Traps superteams were popular villain-side a couple years back. 8 FFG is only the tip of the iceberg. Just wait till you see what multiple acid mortars do. Heck, even the triage isn't bad when you rotate who is placing them and have a couple down every fight.
btw, 8 FFG makes your screen look like a fishbowl. Hope you don't mind that.

On the bright side, the recharge was lowered a couple issues ago so there is no downtime between summons, if you want to keep bringing it out.
It's decent solo, where you only have a small number of targets for it to concentrate on. In groups not so much, as it randomly spreads out damage in a less-useful fashion. -
There was behavior similar to this around ... issue 6 I believe. I remember jumping into a group of enemies, using a nuke, and it would go off no matter what. They were helpless to kill me and stop it. There were a lot of silly things players could do if they were willing to accept a little debt. Then the next issue it no longer worked.
I think it's better to cancel powers upon defeat. It keeps behavior more honest that way. -
The more I think about it, the more I see radiation blast being fun for blasters.
I mean seriously, what says BLASTER more than tossing mushroom clouds left and right? -
I made a sonic/mind/elec a while back. Lots of cones, solid back-to-back. Great fun on teams.
