    Patrick Stewart narration FTW!

Also: Looks like a fun movie, the more Milla the better.

(There is a reason why I watch Ultraviolet when it's on, and it isn't because it's a good movie).

Yup, don't try that with a mountain lion, they like convenience food.

I watch Catwoman for the same reason that I'll watch Ultraviolet, and it ain't because it's a good movie...

    16 cores anyone?

It's an Opteron, designed for servers. Unless the games are designed to use the extra cores it is a waste. Clock speed counts more in games.
  5. The final EB is quite susceptible to knockback / knockdown. Used Focus and Shockwave with my Claws/Dark scrapper to keep him on his backside instead of swatting me with that axe.

  7. Just finished re-reading Heinlein's The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress. Just starting up on Asimov's Foundation series. I also have a subscription to Analog Science Fiction and Fact magazine.
  8. Man I love buff ladies. Awesome video.
  9. bah... when I read critics panning a film, I can almost always rest assured that I will enjoy the film. GL is no exception (and I suspect Cars2 will entertain me as well).

In fact I can't think of any film that violates that rule of mine.

I will counter that statement with this: It's *not* a bad movie - and there is no need to try and convince those who liked it that it was bad. I watched it. I "got" the story. I was entertained. No one needs to tell me that I shouldn't have been entertained because "it was a bad movie".

There is that old saying that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and I think everyone needs to keep that in mind. I see a lot of posts calling it a horrible movie, and I just simply disagree. My opinion doesn't invalidate other people's opinions, and I'm not going to try to argue, because in the end it is completely pointless.

my 2 inf, keep the change.
  12. I disagree with the bad robot list on including HAL 9000. Yeah, he went bad in 2001, but anyone watching 2010 would find out why HAL flipped.
  13. I'll do 21.

  14. There is a spot in one of the lab maps in COH that has the same computer beeping noise that was in Quake 2. It is the one where as you enter, straight ahead is a ramp going up, to the right is a big, open, raised room, and to the left is a balcony room. The computer noise is up in the balcony.

  16. I'd rate Connery as #1, with Moore and Brosnan a tie at #2. Craig is #3, Dalton #4... and don't forget #5 George Lazenby!

While each actor has a range of quality from awesome to bad, the only one I refuse to watch when it is on is Connery's Never Say Never Again. The gawd awfulest remake I've ever seen... all of the rest I will at least keep on while I'm goofing around. My favorites are Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Goldeneye.

    my 2 INF, YMMV

I would have been one of those to go see it too, except that the bastages that run the theaters around here didn't offer it to watch.

Oh well, at least Harry Potter was good...

Your definition is correct, but I do not see how it applies here. Sony gave them money to do SFX for their movie. As long as Hydraulx delivered said SFX, I'd have a big problem with calling the money paid by Sony "embezzled". Once it was given to Hydraulx, and the SFX delivered, it was Hydraulx's money. Not Sony's.

Embezzlement would be one of Sony's accountants using company funds to pad his own bank account.

Allegedly, I would like to add, by Sony who has an alien invasion film of their own on the way. No axe to grind there.

Embezzling money from customer's projects? You have a funny way of describing company revenue.

Oh for the love of pete... it's not a horrible movie as some might want you to believe. It is not an epic on the scale of Avatar or even Independence Day, but I still found it enjoyable. You get about 15 minutes of backstory to set the stage, and then the aliens show up and begin vacuuming up people. It isn't too long before you find out WHY they're grabbing people (taking their brains to run biomechanical constructs).

I found it to be realistic in how the humans portrayed would react in a situation like that (like panicked idiots). The battle scenes were fun to watch too. Personally I give the movie 2 1/2 stars out of 4.
