to be honest...
i used to hate evis in a chain but since i have the second -res proc in evis. i love evis!

The damage and cone size are great. I have nothing against the mechanics of the attack, it's soley the animation that makes me vomit. -
Yep, and if you plan on IOing the build out and getting your accolades, you can get the Brutes health up to around 2650, a scrapper can't touch that.
WP is a very tough set on Brutes and it allows you to rush into mobs, which keeps your fury above 80% almost constantly. So there really isn't much difference in DPS. -
My lvl 50 DB/WP scrapper feels weak and collects dust. My DB/WP brute is my favorite and most powerful character. Check out the vid in my sig to see him in action.
-
It takes quite awhile to get a character to lvl 50, do every SF/TF, all the trials, and every story arc using the flashback system, get all the badges and accolades, tweak your build and IO it to make you a rock star, get your patron powers, design 5 cool costumes, ect. ect. I've only done that with one of my 50s and it took a long time, but was alot of fun.
My problem and perhaps the OPs, is that I don't like any of my 50s enough to sink that much time into. Most of my 50s sit unused because after playing my main, that has a billion infamy build, the rest just feel weak, but I don't like any of them enough to sink that kinda time or money into. Now that Brutes are getting Claws and we are getting Dual Pistols, I have two new builds that I plan on doing all of the above mentioned activities with. That's at least 6 months worth of stuff to do. So I for one am excited again, I just hope we get some new content to play with these new characters. I think what this game really needs is a buttload of new maps, tilesets, enemy factions, power sets, zones, TF/SF, and globle events. Hope Going Rogue supplies some of that stuff. -
I have a few problems with Eviscerate.
1. The animation looks really goofy with alot of characters. It might be great for nimble little cat girls type characters, but big hulking type claw characetrs just don't look right doing a double backflip. If it were one flip instead of two, it might be better, but the rest of the set is very simple and straight to the point which makes it stick out like a sore thumb.
2. It makes no sense. Spinning backwards and slashing forward just doesn't make for a strong attack. Throw in the fact that you use the back of you claws instead of the sharp front edge and it's even more lame.
3. It's aniamtion is pretty dang long. I understand the whole dmage/castime/recharge ratio has to be right, but if I'm gonna take an attack with a cast time that long...it better be an animation I really like.
Now many folks can post that they love the animation, cause many do. Like me, many also hate it. So with alternate animations being introduced into the game, there is finally an option to make both sides happy. I think Eviscerate deserves the time and effort needed foe an alternate animation option more than any other animation in the game. There are alot of animations that different folks would like to have options for, but Eviscerate has always been the most polarizing attack animation in the game. Just about anyone you ask will have strong feelings one way or the other. It really is adored or despised. -
So what Patron set will blasters qualify for? The same as stalkers or corruptors?
-
I don't see how any villain AT would be over powered in CoH. That just seems very silly IMO.
-
Including the Power Pools as well as Patron/Epic Pools in customization is a must if they are going to do this right. Kinda like being able to customize your enemies in the AE was a must. Hopefully they are already planning on including Patron, Epic, and Travel pools to be included at release. I would think it is obvious, but I thought the fact that characters in AE needed to be customizable was obvious too. We'll see.

Hey! No no no! You can't just change the subject all willie nilly! This thread is strictly for the discussion of the awesomness that is Dual Pistols. Thank you.
-
Indigo is probably the easiest AV to solo....but gratz on the Pylon. Those things take a very good amount of DPS to overcome thier regen rate. Gratz on your build!
-
I think after 5+ years of non stop play, we should get a vet power than can auto lvl a character by 10 lvls, to be used at any time. I mean really...after 5+ years I think we earned that.

I seem to recall that Marilyn Monroe is reported to have been the equivalent of today's size 12 (shock & horror!).
I think Desdemona looks curvy, strong & athletic.
[/ QUOTE ]
At 5'7 and 120 pounds, Desdemona is probably between a size 8 and a 10. She'd be about Pamela Anderson's size minus the latter's experimentation with the chest slider.
Monroe would have been a tad shorter and heavier, but otherwise pretty close.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you know any real women?
That weight and height generally doesn't equate to an 8-10 unless you are talking about how hot she is.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol no [censored] bro. 5'7" 120 lbs is like Angelina Jolie. Hardly a size 10. Nice try though. -
So who's in? Justice server, no AE, all Brutes, all Claws. You don't have to join a SG, I've made a global channel called "Claws4Brutes" so we can communicate thru that. There's no date set yet of course....but who's in?
-
Claws feel quick cause of the simple short animations, but they really aren't much faster than any other melee set in the game. I think just like every other melee set, Scrappers will have a slight advantage in damage output.....but Brutes are just better so we win.
From my experience you build most your fury from being attacked, not from attacking. So I really don't think claws will be some amazingly fast fury building machine like some folks seem to think. I just think claws are full of awesome and can't wait to role a claws brute finally! -
Thanks VexXaa. The head is suppose to belong to Ghost Widow....but she is a ghost, so it really doesn't make sense. Glad you like it anyways.
-
My only 50 back then was Jullius. A superstrength / Invuln Brute.

The only thing I'd really want done would be for Babs to allow us to choose a new animation in place of Evis.
[/ QUOTE ]
SWEEPING STRIKES ANIMATION!
[/ QUOTE ]
BaB says this won't work cause hand placment would make your claws point staright down, but if MA and SS are getting alternate animations....amything is possible. Maybe my new campaign will be for an alternate animation for eveiscerate. Only problem is whatever the new animation is, it would have to have a cast time of 2.33 secondsI've already put way to much thought into this, but I think the perfect animation would be one that stabs staright forward with both hands like Blinding Fient, then rips outward and away from each other like sweeping strike. This would fit the name Eviscerate AND could take 2.33 seconds to cast.

JD, thank you so much for for your huge amount of effort in getting the Devs to give brutes Claws...if you were a chick...I'd kiss ya...lmao
Great work man, keep up the good work
[/ QUOTE ]
All I did was bring it up constantly for two years....if it wasn't for the vast majority of folks always agreeing with me, we probably wouldn't be getting it. So no thanks needed. I think this is just a nice reminder that the Devs do watch the forums and do try to give us what we ask for.
Did I mention I'm excited? -
So now that we know we are getting claws for brutes, can we start speculating on changes to the set?
-
Oooh...so just a different layout at charcter creation then? That makes alot more sense!
