Sonic'll likely give you an easier time - in the late 20s/early 30s you start encountering machines and they resist psionic damage.
-
Well, that makes you an exception. Most would die too much even at level 10 to successfully try for the tailor.

Just curious, why all the hate on Vigilance, anyways? Sure, it's useless when soloing, but surely it's a decent little bonus to have when you're teaming and things start going pear-shaped? [personally, though, I'd tweak it to add a recharge bonus to the Defender's *primary* powers equal to the Endurance discount he/she gets at that moment...]

Huh. You're right about that. For some reason, I'd thought they were an organization hanging around to take care of superhuman street crime (based on what they've been doing in Paragon City - specifically, Galaxy & Atlas)... A regular police force, in other words, though tied to the UN. Bah. I read too many things from too many places about too many universes to keep everything straight. :P

Well, think of it as Arachnos just moving in to Paragon City and Longbow not needing all that large a presence there due to the high Hero population.

The higher cost for Corruptors is because it does significantly more damage for them than for Blasters thanks to Scourge.
Blaster: 26.28 Smashing + 26.28 Energy
Corruptor: 20.85 Smashing + 20.85 Energy + 41.71 if Scourge kicks in
[base numbers at level 50] ie, Corruptors do 40.7 damage - 83.41 damage if Scourge kicks in. Blasters are stuck with 52.56 damage. Defenders get it worst, since it's in a secondary for them, they pay as much as Blasters but only get to do 30.36 total with it. -
Devices is only awkward on teams made up of Leeroy Jenkinses. Sadly, that seems to be most of them. If you can find teammates that have the patience to wait a few seconds before each spawn, it's a different story.

Quote:I tried those ones a week or so ago. Neither allowed for posting from me, despite being publically joinable. :/ Rather discouraging and is why I moved the two characters I cared about over to Freedom and deleted the rest... [haven't had that problem on any of the Freedom-related channels I tried out]Go to Justice and join the global channels - Justice United and JFA2010. There is NEVER a shortage of people to team with no matter what time you're on. I see TF's run as early as 7 in the morning, and I see them started as late as midnight. That server is constantly hopping.

Quote:OMG! But without Stamina, you can't mash your power keys as soon as they've recharged and might have to stop for 30s between groups, or even a full minute after a longer one! That makes you a leecher! And don't you dare say that you use blue inspirations! After all, each blue takes up a space that could go to a green or purple to make less work for your healer, or a red to kill things even faster! Leech! Leech! Leech!I play a great many characters that do not have Stamina. Not one of them lags a team, when I team, because he's out of Endurance. I rarely start a fight with full Endurance, especially when teamed. But then, I'm also not concerned with DPS, or ExpS either. I play to have fun. I can have fun without Stamina.
Please note the extreme sarcasm in the previous paragraph used to mock some of the people who think Stamina is mandatory (*some* of them, not all. Many are just misguided, after all) and seem to have the described attitude, even if they couch it less blatantly. -
...as long as you don't mind stopping every minute to aggro something and don't find yourself in areas with few enemies that you have to get across.

I think the main confusion on the part of the OP about it only being more detailed shadowing in Ultra Mode is because, frankly, that's all you can really see in the sample images that came with the GR/I17 posting...
-
It's what I assumed, actually. Pity, though. Thanks.

As the title asks, do typed (fire, smashing, psi, etc.) and positional (melee, ranged, AoE) defense values stack, or do you only get the benefit of one of them at a time (hopefully the effect of the higher, naturally)?

Quote:Yep, as long as you place them in the {cohinstall}\costumes directory.Primary question: If I copy the costume file folder from my home laptop to my work laptop, will I be able to access all the saved costumes when I fire up CoX on my work laptop?
Quote:Secondary question: Other than the size of your computer's hard drive, is there a limit to the number of costumes you can save in CoX? -

Bidding on stuff that there was 0 supply for and then complaining about it hardly proves the point - after all, the exact same thing happens blueside. Ditto if you made 'reasonable' bids on stuff for which there was actually supply and still didn't get them (ie, what you consider reasonable and what the sellers do is out of sync).

Dunno when they're from different casters, but if the same person puts the same DoT on the same target (such as the level 1 immobilize, which has a recharge about half of the DoT duration), it definitely overwrites both the time and the damage. It's why my Plant Controllers (both Cont & Dom) use Roots as the timer when on a single target to reapply Entangle (cast Roots, then Entangle, then Roots again when it recharges, then Entangle since the original stopped DoTing a second or two before).
-
Most of my characters are now in the "Eh, might as well get it" camp for Stamina - mostly because of taking Swift & Hurdle for Ninja Run, and there's usually room at 22 or 24 (depending on when I pick up the other two and if I take Health) to get it if I don't take it at 20.

Not that actual casuals would bother with sets, anyways, since those require things like research, planning, and using tools like MIDs so that you can see the actual numbers beforehand in order to choose effectively. They tend to stick with TOs, DOs, SOs, and their basic IO versions from recipes that've dropped. They'll also tend to slot haphazardly, based on what they seem to need at the moment, unless they bother to ask in broadcast/local/help.

Quote:Hmm. Does the x4 actually make up for the massive loss of XP and inf compared to what you'd've gotten at 0 / x1?There are a couple schools of thought on this one. Hot Feet does take a lot of endurance, but if you fight a lot of weak enemies (like -1 / x4 / no bosses) you can just use Cages + Hot Feet to do damage and rely on heals to stay alive, skipping the single target controls entirely except on annoying Lts like Spectrals.

Bah. If you think the EAT unlock going down to level 20 is bad (dumbing things down, making it pointless to bother with getting to 50, spitting in the eye of vets, whatever) you should go see what they've done over in WoW.
-
Bah. Don't complain. My cable is 256kbps (anything faster and, well, no CoH for me), which translates to roughly a sustained speed of 30KB/s. At 2.9GB total, that's a *28 hour* (and 9 minutes) download for me under ideal conditions.
Yay for boxed editions.
[which cut the download from an Architect Edition install down to only about 300MB, so around 3 hours]

"Blapper" is a pormanteau of 'Blaster' and 'Scrapper' - ie, a Blaster pretending, as Muon basically said, to be a Scrapper.

...because the real missions are buried among the farms and the ones loaded to the brim with AVs & Elite Bosses with custom power sets for the 'challenge'. :/

Quote:I know a number of people who have switched from Hurdle-Health-Stamina to Swift-Hurdle-Stamina to bolster their use of Ninja Run as a travel power.
OTOH, Ninja Run is comparable to Fly's speed at getting around without any extra support.
And with support, it's fairly awesome - 1x SO'd Sprint, 2x SO each for Hurdle & Swift (level 32 Blaster, L35 SOs) gives me 50.08mph running, 61.61mph jumping, and 38.82ft jump height. Almost tempted to add a 3rd slot to Swift & Hurdle, and 2 slots to Sprint just to see what it gets me up to.
