I tried one tonight with my lvl 24 merc/traps MM and got killed in 15 seconds flat.
I know mercs have no fire resists and don't do so well against it but it kinda defeats the purpose of being a MM when the portal spawns ..what ..2 behemoths per minion ? and then they go about trashing your minions till you either die or are forced to run and get the help of a higher lvl friend.
whats everybody elses experiance of CoT portals ?

Is that the way it works? I thought these things were just borked for all players, so I avoided them like the plague after my first encounter.
So 2 per minion? Does that mean cryptic think that one MM (+pets) is equal to several player characters?

You should certainly try a MM out, it's a very different experience to any other AT. I went for robots/FF and it took quite a while to get off the ground, but by about level 20 I was playing on fairly hard difficulty, and by the time I got the last pet I was at max, storming though missions like a hot knife through butter!
MMs are very powerful in the right hands, and it's pretty easy to get the right hands too. They'll be nerfed soon I'm sure, since only Heroes/AVs can't be taken solo, so enjoy it while you can! -
Just got my warshade, N-Forcer, to 6 and I have to say, Nova form is excellent! An entire attack chain, travel power and end recovery all in one! Feels very epic!
And the luxury of having a travel power right out of the bag was awesome

My En/En blapper takes them apart pretty nicely if they don't have help. Can't say I've fought against them with any of my other characters.

Nah, I think that maaaaybe the drones need the 3 acc. enhancers, since they're fighting two levels below you. Mind you, having 2 acc and 3 slotted tactics might be enough.

I've just put one of these together, and I must say, I love the single target damage, and yummy tar patch, and other debuffs.
But, what really attracted me to this combo are the holds - three single target holds (2 Ice Blast, 1 Dark Miasma), and the single target Terror. Is there a dominator set that can match this? -

Any power that get a blaster in close range of the enemy is a bad idea IMO which unforuntaly is most of the powers in the 2ndary sets. Only 2ndary pool to choose is Devices as this asssist the blaster greatly.

I've just started blapping with my En/En, and my god those close attacks really hit hard! It's well worth getting in close to use them.
Also, there are... 1, 2, er a bunch of really useful self buffs in the energy secondary - buildup, conserve power, power boost, boost range. Hey! That makes 4, and they all rawk your sawks -

Ooops, yep Maximillion is right, it's the second most damaging AoE outside of Atomic Blast. Mind you, electron haze has an activation time of 3s, making the cone much harder to use.
Irradiate in PvP is onlt worth it for the def debuff - I don't think I'd bother with any of the AoE attacks in the rad set if I was going pure PvP, unless you've got nothing else to take. -

It does the most AoE damage of the set, outside of Atomic Blast. Pehaps the DoT nature conceals this.
It has the biggest def debuff of the set, and it lasts for a good long time too.
It also has an accuracy bonus (I think).
On the issue of the def debuff, sure, most of the time you don't need it, but sometimes you get those annoying enemies, like Longbow Spec Ops, or Rikti drones. It really helps against those. Also, using Irradiate first in a fight might mean you can get away with less acc. enhancers in your powers. -
Fighting the Mighty Saguaro in Bloody Bay today. Well, getting revenge more like, he splatted me earlier :P
I was reading the newspaper while my robots blasted him to bits amid the confusion of a mass battle, hehehe -

Disorent might be a good thing to put in for PvP, especially if you have other disorient powers, such as the photon grenade gun, and repulsion bomb -

My build includes the two target bubbles AND the togle dispersion field AND force bubble.
Assuming the two togles are on, do i not need ot bother target bubbleing my minions?
Wont the defence bonus from the target bubbles stack with the defense from the Dispersion field?

yeah, in tough situations I still bubble my little guys, but sometimes it just takes too long for me to bother with You can replace them anyway, hehe

If you're fighting so close to the enemy base that you can be TP'd into the drones, you should really expect to have a hard time of it.
