I'd just like to point out that a properly done PvP corruptor is probarbly better than a PvP defender, due to available power sets (Ice Blast!) and the much higher damage output.
You're right about trollers and dominators.
High level MMs can really kick [censored] in PvP and should rule in raids, especially one running force bubble
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem with MM's in base raids is that they can't carry their pets over loading screens. So they have to summon AND upgrade their pets in the base. That really needs to be looked at imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
My money is on the MM buff coming in I7 will be in the form of faster summoning and buffing -

hmm, a thing like this could actually make me wanna play CoV again...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah. We should even considder making them on Union as it seems more active than defiant.
[/ QUOTE ]
You guys are gonna make some Union villains? I've been tempted recently to do that too. Maybe I'll join this little PvP venture when I get back online. Perhaps with a sonic/sonic corruptor, or another Haz-Mat guy -

To be honest, I'd expect some of those numbers to be closer to 75% than they are.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those numbers are statistically fine, all within 1 standard deviation -
Looks fine! It might be possible to live without stamina at all if you're a kinetics duo, especially when you hit 35 and get the magic end sucking thing. If you really want a travel power, perhaps flight might be a good idea, since you get superjump and superspeed from kin.
Edit: and get freeze ray!
Edit 2: and 2 accuracy and tactics is overkill for PvE and very nice for PvP -

You afraid of falling down? If so you can't be a real blaster
-
With acrobatics you can resist one single target hold for certain, or (or, I think) 2 holds from a PBAoE toggle type thing (like choking cloud).
It's no help whatsoever against confuse, stun, sleep, immobilise, fear. -
Voltan? From back in the day? Can you be the same one? Well grats anyways dude!
-
If you blap with your blaster it'll obviously play quite differently to the corruptor. With siphone speed stacking up, the blast side might play quote differently too. Hmm, play by ear I guess! My first thought might be to miss out the first single target attack (the low damage one), since you can really slash the recharge of attacks.

It's because if in range, the bot preferentially uses flamethrower which is a pretty poor attack compared to others it has available.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not a poor attack if Stompy is in close to 4 or 5 mobs, given that it's a pretty wide cone. Besides, look at the pretty fireworks
I think the US Board analysis of the Dual Plasma Blast is a bit off too, I don't think it's a narrow cone, I think it's a fairly tight ranged AoE centred on the main target, with a DoT attached too. I'm certain about the DoT, and 90% sure of the ranged AoE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Flamer DoT is very slow, it's also quite a narrow cone if it's similar to the AR or fire blast versions. I'd rather assbot shoot his single big laser blast instead, which he should be able to do since it's got a short recharge.
You're right about the dual laser blast -
I posted about this a long while ago, but everyone shot me down! So HA! TAKE THAT!

I got a question: what do you want the rad team doing? Healing and AMing the holding team?
-
Unfending is a pretty viable tactic in PvP - there's always someone dead or close to
-
Here ya go Chi, this is something like my build at the moment (although I'm only at 1 at the mo)
The philosophy is that I want to deliver a colossal amount of single target damage in a short time, and nothing else. Snipe is in there cos I saw someone do an insane divebomb to get defiance up high then sniping
Lots of slots thrown at my maneuverbility for PvP, and helps a bit in PvE too

Hey Chi,
Ignore power bolt, it's wanky!
Edit: you really need to sort out your slotting too. Get energy punch, bone smasher, power blast and power burst 6 slotted. Those are the only attacks you really need. Don't bother with explosive blast, that's poor too. If you really want an AoE attack get energy torrent, but I'd personally forget that too. Maybe later today I'll post my blapper build up for you -
I don't think the phrase 'Cookie Cutter' applies to archery/dev
People with the devices tend to use teleport foe onto tripmines. I imagine smoke grenades could throw a spanner in the workings of an enemy team. Web grenade is great for it's really nasty seconary effects. That's all I can think of off the top of my head and I don't know nuthin about archery so can't help you there! -
Yeah, FF isn't the be all and end all of PvP secondaries. I've seen a trio of /dark MMs owning in sirens. Nothing could touch them.
Having said that, if you're going out on your own, FF is probarbly the best -
This is gonna be a big event, like the last one I went to (I think Jersey organised that one).
I led a team there, and now I know more about it (like how to make sure everyone gets their hami-o!). I'll happily lead one again. I'll be on my rad defender, Irradiator
Edit: Just seen I'm on the rad team, so forget that -
I've just done a respec to make my En/En blaster into a blapper, she's lvl 30 or something like that. She's really crazy to play - has a huge damage output, all of it single target and runs out of endurance very fast
My build performs really well in both PvP and PvE
Powers to get and slot heavily: Power Punch, Bone Smasher, Power Blast, Power Burst, aim, buildup, stamina (along with swift and hurdle).
That's your attack chain with those 4 attacks and 2 buffs. You sometimes get a little down time, but it's not a huge issue.
Good stuff to also have: Combat Jumping and acrobatics for immobilise and hold protection. Hasten, Conserve Power. Snipe and Nova are both great to have, especially if you've got some defiance
Things to ignore even if you don't go for the blapper type: Power Bolt, it's a pants attack: low damage and kinda long animation time. -
I've been having a lot of fun there too with Red Right Hand.
Damn you Rocky Horror -
Afulia's right, MMs are good in PvP if you can manage to look after yourself. Also, I've noticed that MMs tend to be much better in the higher level PvP zones, With my robo/FF, fighting in the confined spaces of the underground tunnels in warburg, I do really well
Force Bubble and PFF FTW!
-
Aye, I agree with pretty much all you said there, except for perhaps taking electron haze. I've never used this power myself, but if it leaves you rooted for a long time I'd say dump it. Maneuverability counts for a lot in PvP. Irradiate should be handy, since it's a quick animation. The damage is pretty poop (and it's DoT) so I'd slot it for defence debuff and accuracy. You might just be able to get away with slotting 1 acc in your attacks if you slot irradiate 3acc 3def debuff. Maybe
I'm pretty sure a rad/rad could get away with it, using radiation infection as well.
-
I'd spam the single target debuffs as often as possible - 2 acc, 3 recharge.
Ice blast can be heavy on the end, and if you're following my advice and spamming debuffs as fast as poss you might just need that 6th slot for an end redux. However, on my Ice/Dark I've got my blasts 5 slotted for the moment. Sure, I run out of end very fast if I'm not careful, but slots are in short supply! -

If they con higher than their level does that give or mean that they have any advantage based on their con color, like LTs. Or is it purely their colors?
If I'm a scrapper stalking an MM with those con color minions shoul;d I be treating them as their actual levels or as their con levels?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lt's only con a different colour to represent the higher threat than a minion, same goes for bosses. They don't get level bonus on top of their rank bonus.
